@@MaksiGaming607 could do ur own lil research if you want but using context clues its just a fleet of contracted planes from other companies, Fedex pays for cargo space essentially, like how smaller commercial carriers like Air Wisconsin, Envoy, Skywest do contracts/carry passengers for American Airline’s shorter routes

Its for aircraft not directly owned by FedEx. For example of you start a company get a loan and buy a plane and hire a couple pilots you can sign up for as a contractor for any air fleet.

I've heard the cargo companies are a big buyer of old planes that have been retired from passenger service. They just strip the interiors and fill them up with cargo. Cargo planes can often end up being old and no longer used models.

I live 1 mile from London Stansted and seen FedEx flight #1 for nearly 40 years. In the old days FDX1 (Stansted to Memphis) was a DC-10. Then gradually a mix of DC-10/MD-11, then mixed in came the 777, sometimes a chartered 747. These days just 777, very occasionally an MD-11. They are so loud, love it! My 18 year old nephew has now got a part time job at FedEx sorting, London Stansted. He really enjoys it.

UPS and DHL aren’t the same. DHL has 0 airplanes. They outsource the flying to other shitty cargo airlines who then provide cheap labor to DHL…..
DHL model is the cancer for the cargo pilot profession.
You now see a lot of 737s with FedEx paint in them….those pilots make half what real FedEx pilots make. And that is the DHL model of subcontracting.
