When we were younger and saw the lawfare of the entertainment industry against our irreverent internet culture we looked at big tech as a neutral sancutary.
Now getting older, people wanting to build their dream projects, are tween a rock and a hard place seeing that 'sanctuary' wasnt exactly the path to glory it appeared a decade earlier, and it only viewed independent creatives as a data harvest for their own machines and services.

The problem is, streaming is not good at balancing discovery. We have to learn to promote ourselves. That's the only thing that will create balance. One idea is to make your own website or app. Another is to use promote on RUclips, and make money off of tours, etc. Easier said than done, but I feel like these are still the right ways.
