Great episode. Your 'list' episodes are as delightful and insightful as your 'academic' episodes. Still waiting on your 'reviews' of the Unfinished Music albums. 😂 just remember, it's for the fans.
You should definitely do one for John, because he obviously has a tone of strong vocals throughout the Beatles. He literally has three to four songs on A Hard Days Night alone that could make the cut: I’ll Be back, I should have known better, Any Time at All… It would be a great companion peace to this episode
Great episode, love that you all seemed to me to get the essence of Paul as a great vocalists. He really does take you on a lovely journey. Love all your selections. Thank you! Fine regarding changing your mind as we all do it. But Let’s go!
Paul sang really great in his 20's,30's,40's and 50's and really good into his 60's. Both he and John had great rock song, love song, and in between great singing voices and great ranges. Some fans say Paul had the better range than John and could sing great both high and low but there are many times John did also, too many to name and John had the more unique beautiful singing voice, even when he spoke it was beautiful. And Paul sang the great rocking vocal on Long Tall Sally in only one take just like John did with Twist and Shout except John had a bad sore throat from a bad cold. Paul also sang the great rocking vocal for the cover Kansas City Hey Hey just in one take too.
@@Beatletoon - except, Rob did include Helter Skelter. I remember in an interview Paul saying he had heard about The Who talking about there latest song being the “loadest, most raucous song we’ve ever done, man.” Looking back, Paul thought they were talking about “I Can See For Miles and Miles.” Helter Skelter was to be their answer to that raucousness.

Best McCartney vocals, Hey Jude. Key of F, not Key of C, Oh Darling, Yesterday, Here There and Everywhere, Lady Madonna, and Long Tall Sally. You can say his whole entire catalog is the best vocals. Cover versions of Paul's song are second rate compared to the original, in my opinion. Good show of fund and laughter. Let it Be would be an honorable mention for the Spiritual.
But Paul and beautiful very intelligent kind, red haired blue eyed British actress Jane Asher were not over when he wrote the great For No One about her, he and she got engaged on Christmas day 1967 and they were engaged until Jane came home much earlier than expected from touring with her theatre company and found Paul in their bed with young pretty brunette 24 year old writer groupie Francie Schwartz and Jane rightly left him after their 5 year love affair from the time she met him 2 weeks after she turned 17 and Paul turned 21 two months later. And Alistair Taylor Brian Epstein's assistant and friend of him and Paul's said Paul was a total mental wreck after Jane left him he would call and come over Alistair's house at 1 am and cry and drink hard liquor and say how much he loved Jane, wanted and needed her back,he said he couldn't believe what a prat he'd been, and he said that he had everything and that he threw it all away.He also interestingly said to Alistair that Jane wasn't just his woman she was his closest friend and that he opened up everything that was inside of him to her, including his mother's death and how he dealt with that. and he had met Linda at least 3 times by then ,but Paul for a while begged Jane to forgive him and take him back but Jane understandably returned all of his letters un opened, and she ignored all of his phone calls. Soon after Jane left him, Paul wrote Let It Be about his beloved mother Mary who was a nurse and midwife who sadly died at only 47 from breast cancer when Paul was only 14 and his brother Michael was only 12.He also wrote the sad The Long And Winding Road soon after Jane left him. Paul wrote the beautiful heartfelt love songs All My Loving, And I Love Her,Things We Said Today,Every Little Thing, and She's A Woman for and about Jane. And the bitter songs about their arguments that were all of his fault because he kept wrongly being a selfish sexist and constantly pressured Jane to give up her acting career that she loved and was doing since she was in her first film at age 5, What You're Doing, We Can Work It Out,I'm Looking Through You,You Won't See Me and I Will for and about Jane.
The Beatles won several Grammy awards for vocal performances including in their early years, and they are in The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame, The Rolling Stones, awful c**k rock Led Zeppelin with screaming wailing Robert Plant, and The Who aren't.
Great, all the best from Sweden

Yes to discussing Paul's Beatle backing vocals!
Thank you for another excellent show. Keep up the good work, guys.
You guys are the best
Loved the show. Thanks, guys!
For No One, best break up song ever written.
Long Tall Sally! That’s why Tony’s my favorite 😂

Great show guys! I loved all your choices! But, geez, no Golden Slumbers? It may be short, but it's oh so good! 🙂
To me: Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (opening song), And I Love Her, Fixing A Hole, Lady Madonna, Oh! Darlin'
You can't go wrong with any of those choices!
'Why don't we do it in the road' was a masterpiece McCartney vocal performance.

Great show, excellent and varied choices. Personally I would have included You Never Give Me Your Money and Golden Slumbers.
Helter Skelter is my #1
A great vocal for sure!
Oh Darling?
We probably thought that Oh Darling and Helter Skelter were such obvious choices that we avoided them.

But only 5 best Paul's vocals? He sang countless great vocals during The Beatles from their early days on,and then before, during and after Wings.

I agree totally. EVERY SONG of his in the Beatles was tremendous. Tough to pick 5.
@@mitchellaxelrod5286 Absolutely agree.
