    Kevin put you Drain Plug on the Inside of you Boat that way with just a little power you can pull it to drain water out the back as long as you are moving. I have Two 16ft, with a 25 hp Go-devil Long Tail and a 14ft 23hp. Copperhead Surface Drive. Enjoyed it

    Hello from Ozello. Found your video on a break from putting the 22 Predator on the Mudskipper surface drive. I fish Ozello and Little Homosassa and stay away from the psychos on the big river. I got tired of smashing my Tohatsu on rocks so I'm on to a Jon boat and and a surface drive.

      I’m looking for a nice surface drive. But they are so dang expensive. So I’ll keep cruising around in my little riverhawk for now.

    I second the hand bilge pump, or take an 1gal. milk/water jug and cut the bottom out. You can lay it flat on the deck as you scoop the water 💦

    Get you a hand bilge pump designed for boats. They can move a bunch of water. I always carry at least one 5 gallon bucket (with lid) also. They can be used for a bunch of different things. Glad you didn't totally flood.

    Truly enjoy your videos along with your adventures..you do an excellent job editing and showing some awesome footage...just was curious do you use any maps as you travel the various waterways? I live in North Florida and often enjoy the rivers and lakes here and always look for maps and more importantly depth charts if possible. Thanks again and safe adventures 🇺🇸👍🎣

    • @OverlandFlorida
      @OverlandFlorida  2 года назад +1

      Thank you. I do not use any maps other than Google Maps to navigate. My boat runs very shallow so I don't particularly worry about the depth of water.

      At first I thought he may have cracked the hull from all of the bouncing/pounding. But then he was able to bail it out, so that shoots down that guess. My other guess is he took a wave over the bow. I have down this in my boat and it can fill up the bilge really fast.

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith 2 года назад +3

      I'm guessing with the gheenoe style hull he just plowed into a wave in front of him. Those don't ride up over waves very good at all so if you hit one that's higher than your boat is out of the water..... It's bad news.....

      I got swamped by one large wave. I must have instantly taken 40 gallons of water. Everything the bilge would remove a little bit of water, another wave would come over the stern.
