Ed Sheeran obviously has an amazing voice and slays the pop genre, but he’s really pretty diverse. He can legit rap. He had a stutter as a kid, and didn’t gain much from traditional speech therapy. But he got the Marshall Mathers LP as a 9 y.o., memorized it, and rapped along…and credits that (and by extension, Eminem and rap in general) as helping him overcome the stutter. He also has some other fire tracks that are outside of the pop genre. One of the most fascinating ones to me is “Blow” with Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars. Not a single one of the three is primarily known for rock, but it’s a pretty dope song that’s very reminiscent of ‘90’s/‘00’s Lenny Kravitz. And Ed’s cover of “Make It Rain” is blues-rock, and so, so, so good! This particular performance of it is super soulful (from Ed, to the backup singers, to the band…full-body chills)…ruclips.net/video/JGdo4JERpto/видео.html
Yes, recently got on Ed Sheeran songs and he is actually really really fire. Like frfr, I mean his big songs back a few years ago like photograph ect are some of my favorite but his recent ones are really 🔥🔥🔥 to
Ed's heart belongs to hip hop and he started off as a rapper but it went nowhere as a red head in England. He told Em that story which is how he got the rapping track with 50 ad Em, Ed's verse tells his rapping dream story. He is lyrically brilliant and has been tied into hip-hop since he 1st worked with Em in 2017.
He’s always primary been a singer but rapped from time to time. I don’t ever recall him purely rapping and I’m a fan from England since he was doing freestlyles and covers for SBTV back in 2010. People were definitely fans of him back then. He was collaborating with UK grime artists and people actually rated him but generally speaking back then grime wouldn’t take you to international success like pop would. Being a ginger in England who raps had nothing to do with anything ahaha. And he was tied to hip hop before the Em collab. That collab was fire though!🙌🏿🔥
@@MRAAng-on2jg I think when Ed talked about his love for rap and his interest in trying to rap was before 2010, he mentions more than once about how he overcame his stutter by memorizing the MMLP as a teen. In the verse with Em and 50 he talks about his rap dream and how he was told "Stick to singing, stop rappin' like it's Christmas". He gives more details in an interview about his love for rap and hip hop. I don't know a lot about him I just remembered the interview
I know he’s been interested in rap since he was a kid. I was saying that I have been a fan of Ed since he stepped on the scene in 2010 and he wasn’t strictly a rapper. He was a singer who occasionally liked to rap on his own records or cover hip hop records. He’s never been 100% a rapper like Em, Pac etc. He’s been an artist who sings and raps like Lauryn Hill, Andre 3000, Childish Gambino or Doja Cat (for modern comparisons). His verse in the song you mentioned was him saying that he is a multidimensional artist and he wants to sing AND rap, not just be boxed into singing. And I think most artists feel that way. They don’t want anyone (especially music executives) limiting them in their craft
Ed Sheeran has some songs where his cadence is crazy while a soft little guitar melody is going on haha. I’m sure he can rap if he wanted to but that voice is pure gold.
You should react to Ed Sheeran's acoustic version of Eraser which has extra verses and he raps for like 5 minutes. Although rap might not be his main strength, the amount of groove he has when rapping while playing guitar is impressive.
Ed is a great lyricist and the kid got bars. He never pretends to be something he's not but stays in his lane doing his thing F I R E - i love your reaction to this song!
"remember the name" - Ed feat. Eminem and 50cent, "take me back to London" - Ed feat Stormzy and Aitch, and "Antisocial" - Ed feat Travis Scott. All fire songs.
Not a fan of pop music, so don't particularly care for the artists, but I really respect Ed Sheeran and the way he delivers lines. He can be very rhythmic, delivering great bars at an interchangeable pace. I can respect what he does. And while I'd never buy his work, I can certainly admire his delivery.
Hahahahahah dude.... Bro... Don't ever sleep on ED. He's been doing his thing since he was a street performer. Ed made it his business to work with every artist and genre.
Ed Sheeran loves a good rap. His “You Need me I don’t need you” live where he adds multiple other artists raps into the song of his that is more rap with just him his guitar and loop pedal is ten minutes plus of literal fire.
I’ve been too Odessa and Chornomorsk I have close friends I would consider my family it’s heartbreaking seeing a beautiful place being under attacked missiles flew over my friends apartment. I pray from every night for them I hope to one day go back there.
The original version was released last year,2021, in late October. Tbh i prefer the song with just Ed on the track he got some fire lyrics in the part lil baby rapped over. "Words are weapons and occasionally they cut deep" Fire dude
What can I say. Great song. As what you would expect from Ed Sheeran: relatable stories. 2-stepping with the woman I love. You don't even need to be a good dancer. You can be 2-stepping with the woman you love, and you'll be happy. Lil Baby also fit well on this track. He stuck to the topic as well. Good lyrics, just told from a different perspective. Loved it.
FUN FACT: Ed Sheeran was also inspired and influenced by Eminem. So if sounds like he can ride a beat. Now you know why. Not taking anything away from the man He is by himself a phenomenal artist.
I would say globally, ed Sheeran is one of the biggest superstars in the world. But he grew up battle rapping. He has a four song EP with Yelawolf from 2012 called Slumdon Bridge. He’s obviously a pop star, but he has a deep love for rap and hip hop
Bro I love ur reactions. Always real but also always seem to make me laugh cause I feel like we've gotten to know at least a little of your personality through all your reactions. Before you started playing it, I thought to my self, "Stevie is gonna fuck with this song" and not even 1 minute in the song you were already geekin hahahaha Great reaction Stevie!
Ayyy yooo Stevie, if you REALLY want to hear Ed spit you have to check out his whole No.5 Collaborations Project. It’s from 2011 before he had really blew to where he is now. That thing has everything from bars, to flow, to raw emotion. Mind you it’s a collab so he spits some songs and rocks the chorus on others. Nothing but 🔥🔥🔥
I'm a huge em fan and I thought lil baby was just another mumble rapper, and then I heard pure cocaine and that shit got me hooked. I have like 70 liked songs on my Spotify from him. he's fire
Ed actually dropped the original one his newest album and did this collaboration after a few months. Wasn’t necessarily planned for Lil Baby, but I don’t think he could have found a better person to collaborate with for this.
Ed Sheeran made a "remix" of this song with a Swedish rapper called 1.Cuz and would love to see you react to it because it goes harddd, both swedish rap and he goes in english too
I think that's part of Ed Sheeran's style... things will sound either chill, or downright happy... but the message is a total other feeling. Like he'll have songs that sound happy, but the lyrics are about a breakup or something...
Ed Sheeran was collaborating with a lot of rappers and grime artists in the UK before he blew world wide, Back then i actually thought he would become more of a rapper than a singer, But then he blew up world wide after breaking America and now he is one of the biggest artists in the world. Give this one a go, Ed Sheeran ft. Wretch 32 & Devlin | You Need Me, I Don't Need You (REMIX).
Collabs that involving crossing genres always seem to hit a little harder for me. That Lil Durk and Morgan Wallen song, Broadway Girls. This song. Joyner Lucas and I Prevail on DOA. Something always sounds cooler when you get people collaborating that probably never even listen to each other's music.... I dig it. This song was tight AF btw.

His verse in young guns by lewi white is one of my favourites
Make it rain is truely amazing. He is friends with the original artist Foy vance.
As a fan of Ed Sheeran...not gonna lie..he's definitely got some bars. He has many songs that are straight fire. Love your videos!
He can actually tap as well. With an American accent lollll

Don't matter if he's in the pop music scene, Ed Sheeran is a great musician and performer. One of the last true ones as a solo act.
