What is Filter Propagation? Understanding of the Propagation Concept | BI Consulting Pro | Power BI

A matrix “filters” data and then displays subtotals for each row in the matrix; that’s what it’s designed to
do. The filtering in a matrix is called the initial filter context-initial because it is possible to change the filter
context later by using the CALCULATE() function.

No need to use crossfilter DAX. Just make sure your model has correct relationships and you use DISTINCTCOUNT

Thanks for your feedback. However, please remember, sometimes it seems like snowflake but it is still a Star Schema. You can find several such examples online.
