If Mattel’s version had quieter gears and the force movement wasn’t so violent, I think it would be perfect. The sizing is definitely more accurate and the fact that it comes with a remote so you have control is preferable over Hasbro’s 25 set programs. The motor sounds of Mattel’s when his ears moved was a bit painful for me. Both are adorable though.
Not for the profit margin they were trying for. Kind of ruins the point because they're going to end up on deep clearance. people are going to literally think they are broken with the try me function in the store
Thank you for reviewing and voting ours the best! You are also supposed to be able to hug him and lay your chin on his head and he will giggle. A lot of people aren't getting this to work so if you can't it isn't your fault.
Mattel needs help not making that so dang loud. The machine nose is way louder than the cute sounds he makes. “ The force “ move is so much better on Hasbro. Him sleeping is so adorable.
Man, disappointed in Mattel. Surely they can find quieter motors/servos. That's absolutely ridiculous. Hasbro's facial motors are obviously able to be silent, so I'm not sure what garbage bin Mattel found those ridiculously loud things in. I just bought the little Hasbro ones for now until my Sideshow Collectables statue gets here.
Holy shit man! The shriek from the depths of Hades! Why is it sound loud when it moves?! I'm afraid if I bring that into my home that'll be the last thing I hear at 3a.m. right before I die! 😐🤣
Hasbro is awesome and the details are even better. The Mattel is cool too but is too loud and lacks of things like movements. I like how easy the Hasbro one is to carry and how cute it is vs the Mattel one.
I definitely think Hasbro has the best animatronics and look apart from the necklace which does look cheap. The Mattel is so noisy but I do wish Hasbro would have done it bigger the same size as Mattel. Nice video thank you.
Mattel baby is so loud! I like the idea of him walking around and prefer the metal pendant but its just so loud. I like the quiet movement of hasbro baby. Shame they can’t work together and make a quieter walk around version.
I like the remote control one (face, outfit, functions) but DANG it's so loud when it moves, especially when it does the force move, what is that? 🤣 What a racket. It almost sounds like it's broken.
Thanks for watching, zannapics! Mine snores when he lies down, like in the video. I haven’t tried rubbing his head after he’s down, but mine starts snoring right away.
I have the animatronic Mattel one which I love, BUT I must say this Hasbro one is super cute, too!!!! I wish he didn't have the weird noise when he moves though :( I wish they could make him improved without the noise. I would totally get him, and he'd be my bestie following me around :)
I have none of those, but I got the Mattel 11" plush body with a hard vinyl head, and it's so huggable and adorable! I only wished I could press his hand and hear the adorable sounds he makes. And it would be nice if his eyes would close when laying him down. And an added bonus would be if somehow the top of his head had some fuzzy hairs. I don't need him on a remote control to follow me around. The one I have has no legs, but the body is made in such a way that it lets the doll stand on its own. When I carry him around, it looks as if he's so happy to be carried around, lol. It's so cute! I also wished they would make a snow globe with Grogu sitting on the seeing stone while meditating. The glass part could be a bluish tint, and it could have silver glitters inside. It could pay the theme for the Mandalorian when you wind it up (or it could be without any music). I also hope they'll make more memorable moments figurines, like the meditating Grogu, the mechanic Grogu, the egg eating Grogu, the fierce force-yielding Grogu (with both hands, and an angry look on his cute little face!), and I'm sure there were other such memorable moments in season 2 as well. I have a collection of 6 of these tiny figurines from season 1 (frog-eating, healing-force-effort, soup-drinking, ball-obsessing, peeking over his blanket, sitting and reaching with a forlorn look on his face). I've also fallen for this cutest little munchkin, as you can tell, lol!
@@JimORearsWackyWorld I just watched it, and I see you have that plushy too, and it's your favourite too, lol! I also googled the season 2 figurines and found them as another 6 mini figurines. Unfortunately it doesn't include Grogu eating the blue cookie. Instead he has a blue mustache from drinking some blue milk. I do see one where he's being mischievous touching buttons on the ship. But there is no meditating Grogu in the pack. However, I found a website that sells it's own mini figurines, and they do have the meditating Grogu (minus the rock), and they also have Grogu stealing frog eggs. The website is called Zavvi.
I do like the sculpt and the size and the clothing and the pendant on the Mattel version better, but I think the Hasbro one also has a pretty good scalp, also the color (in my opinion) is closer to the actual Baby Yoda, and the noises are really cute, and the movements are very good, I like the way he moves his ears. Even if the Hasbro version doesn't have as many functions as the other one, the Mattel version is way too noisy. And after all, what I simply want is to hold him in my arms and hear him coo...
Have you noticed since watching Grogu then watching retro TV shows, you realise he actually makes the same baby stock noises that all TV babies do. I would definitely go for Hasbro. The other one sounds like a jet taking off just flapping his ears

Personally, I like the Hasbro version better, the little one. I have that one, it's very cute. However, I agree that a combination of the two... with much quieter motors... would be great.
The Mattel one sounds like when a person runs their nails on a chalkboard, aka pure ear horror (?) I absolutely adored the little hasbro one, like I don't care if he's not life size, and his necklace only needs a bit of dry painting to make it look more metallic I think
I dont like the look of the Mattel one. The detail of the head and the eyes are lacking. I love my Hasbro one. I just wish he was a bit bigger and moved his mouth. Walking is optional because I'd probably carry him around anyway. 😄
I prefer the smaller one because it looks more cute and doesn't make robot noises. I wish they made just one child and focused more on making it look and feel as real as possible instead of making 2 different ones. But over all the small one is still sooo amazinngggg.
I got the Mattel. Though the noisiness was a bummer, I just like the sculpt, size and details better, and I just really like looking at him chilling on my sofa. I also just like hearing his baby-talk sounds, which you can do with one of the buttons on the controller, independent of the walking/force movement. Also, he’s the right size as a costume-prop for an adult, whereas the Hasbro would look dinky riding around in your adult-size messenger bag. I agree, the movement is more fluid on the Hasbro and I love the nap and eye function. But I still like the looks and the scale of the Mattel. His lil face is really cute even from the side. The Hasbro one looks a little bit too skinny to me in the face and I thought it would always be just a little disappointing each time I looked at it. Now that I see the size comparison I’m that much more happy I chose Mattel.
I totally agree with you. I have the Hasbro smaller version and I think he is adorable with the expressions with the eyes blinking and the ears moving , rocking with excitement from side to side, while he makes adorable sounds including giggling. I also personally feel his face has the cutest most realistic appearance. What I really like is that there is no motor sounds at all, making him seem more life like. I kind of find it super unsettling that Mattel's version of Grogu's eyes don't have iris nor pupil. It's just pitch black, like it's possessed by Satan itself. Also the way it's moving, it's just too creepy. I feel like watchinf The Exorcist: Star Wars version. Brrr.
I like the animatronic Hasbro model the most, he’s not as noisy as the Mattel version. I could live with it just sitting in one place and doing random things, the ears moving are really cute. All in all we only leave them sitting on a shelf. But you’re right, a hybrid of the two would be excellent, you should have told us the prices too.
Yikes, I don’t like the remote control one 😬. The robot noises seem loud and not as realistic at the animatronic one. It’s cute that it follows you, though. Glad I went with the animatronic version.
