Thank you, the prizm golf lens was exactly what I needed. I was looking for a MTB and road lens. This fits my needs perfectly. One lens for everything.
Thanks for the video. I didn’t have the Advancer on my radar at all before I watched this. I checked w/ Oakley, and they discontinued the Advancer-feature. But there are still some available at retailers. I use the glasses also in Scandinavian winter for XC skiing, running, cycling. The most expensive, best looking goggles are of little use when fogging up in the cold whenever your HR gets going …
Very nice. I use them for hiking and ski touring also. The advancer nosepiece is awesome in my opinion. Its simple and works great. Its pretty sad they have discontinued it. Maybe they will have a new version releasing soon?
Great review. A lot of info you can’t find anywhere. You made me to pull the trigger and get this model but I opted for photochromic lenses. Already did several rides from full sun, through overcast to even night ride. Very happy with the purchase. 👍
Love your channel. I’m a trail runner in the beginning of training for triathlons. I bought a gravel bike so I can ride gravel and road. Your videos definitely motivate me to hit more gravel in my training this year. Thank you!
i have the trail torch also. they are both very similar. but I prefer the golf. the trail torch is a little brighter, (higher VLT) but its not very noticeable. I think the tint color of the golf does a better job at helping in lower light conditions. it also seems a little better going into brighter conditions. so its just more versatile. the trail torch can seem a bit too bright in direct sun, in my opinion. i used the original trail a long time ago and didnt like it. the bright orange/yellow tint was wayyy to much
These glasses seem perfect for me and my needs, but I have a question, does Oakley offer any solutions for people with myopia? any accessories? for this specific model
Hello! I have (prizm Road Jade) for cycling, mtb and running in the forest. I want to take a second lens: prizm golf, Trail Torch or Prizm Road/lowe light? what do you recommend?
That's a tough question, the Golf and the Low Light are my top choices for you. I'd probably do the Low Light. That would cover you really well for dark days and rainy days.
Great video, felt good seeing all the routes I go through in the area :) I saw some reviews saying the Radar doesn't have good visibility when on the drops due to the top bar and they recommended field / flight jacket, do you agree?
Great video. Was on the fence for a while on what to get - managed to buy a pair as they seem discontinued (can get the lenses separately of course) I have currently flak with photochromic lenses that have worn but with poor side coverage these seem great. Also surprised to see photochromic not 90% + clear when dark! So I intend to get the low light prizm for nights. Still was tempted with the photochromic and possibly trail lenses with 30% VLT but only torch seemed to be available as a SKU. As you said 2 lenses are ok. I’m in the south of the Uk so can be hot and sunny in summer but defo need not too dark of a lens for autumn and winter with plenty of cloud. Cheers again.
Very nice! I hope you enjoy them! I use the prism low light for dark/night rides and they work great. I have been trying a bunch of other lenses recently for different conditions, but still think I love the Prism Golf lens the most. It is just so versatile and is prefect for evening rides, which I do a lot of. I haven't used the photochromic lens yet, but might be testing that one out soon also. Cheers!
@@cyclistpete nice one. I have just ended up with 2 x radar advancer frames lol. Was a ‘cheap’ pair on Amazon with prizm dark road along with a pair with prizm golf I had. So my intention is to leave prizm golf frame alone and use prizm dark road on the super sunny days but most of the time I’ll have the low light lenses in them and the prizm golf my go to apart from night riding. All fun and games :)
Yeah, I used the Dark Golf for a while and it was nice, but not my favorite. For brighter sunny days I really like the Road Black the most. But the road Jade is great too. Check out this vid ruclips.net/video/rdo2UAGdDUw/видео.html
@@cyclistpete but you said in that vid that the prizm jade wasnt as clear as the road or road blk?? I am considering jade road or sapphire in sutro lite..but i have trail torch and road blk and road now... would jade road or saffire be overkill?
@@AA-ih6kt yeah the road jade didn't seem to have the same sharpness as the road or road blk, but it was still a great lens. I haven't ridden with the sapphire, so i cant say how well it compares. but i think the sutro lite with the jade would be pretty sweet addition to your collection. I have been thinking about getting the same recently..
I have, but just in the shop. it seems very nice. pretty similar to the golf, just a little less saturation and a little more orange. I've heard great things about it. but I'm not enticed to switch, the golf still is perfect for me, as my middle lens.
Love these shades took me almost a months to find the perfect pair of running and outdoor shades but I will say Oakley really missed the mark with not providing a polarized daily lens for the EV advancer. All you really get that's polarized is the prism polarized black which is too dark of a lense.
@@cyclistpete, thanks! Just ordered the black polarized version 11% light transmission (I am very light sensitive) , and I was in doubt that it was a good product for me. I was only thinking about the nose piece disturbing my rides. But, if you can't see it it will be just fine. Sure, after I will get use to that pink shade 😀
Great video man! So do you feel that the golf prizm is better for road cycling in most conditions (other than full sun) over the Prizm road? Thank you and keep up the good work.
Victor Schepisi I’m haven’t spent a lot of time with the photocromatic lenses. So I can’t say too much about them. I’ve always preferred color-tinted lenses. I feel like the colored tint can even out the difference between the bright and shaded sections of road. With no tint, even if the light transmission is ideal, my eyes need more time to adjust to the different areas. And I just really like looking through tinted lenses. Especially these rose tint ones, once your eyes adjust everything just looks better
Interesting. I’ve been trying to figure out ONE lens for road and mtb. I assume your gravel trails are similar to off road. I have the photochromic already. Think it’s a great lens for both?
Yeah, its a super versatile lens. If your trails are pretty dark and its not a bright day, it might be a little bit dark. But other than that, I think its the best all-round. I think the tint color will help with contrast/visibility on the trails too
@@cyclistpete I’m going to try the prism trail torch for my advancers. I have the golf lens for my flak jackets. You’re right as they my be a bit dark for covered trails. So I can switch and see what I like. Thanks for the video and input.
