so, where are we at with quantum computers? i see a lot of amat profs writing on blackboards but i don't see an actual computer computing things... i;ve seen a veritasium vid where they were flipping spins on ions - thus entangling the valence electron into flipping the opposite...applying the 'x' gate... but if that's as far as quantum computing is, we're still counting with our fingers and toes...
We are at the dawn even preparations before dawn of quantum computers. Having said that, there are precursors of quantum computers which are actually doing computations. Please search for D-Wave, IBM Quantum, IonQ, Quantinuum etc...
