Clear, concise, no hype presentation. It enhances the credibility of the reviewer, giving the viewer confidence in the accuracy of the review thus helping buying decisions. Well done
I bought one or these after watching the videos thinking I wouldn’t need to buy another one. After waiting 3 weeks with no tracking details I got it and it worked good for the first 35 welds, after that it didn’t even went to boot up anymore. Said my battery was low even being charged for 4 hours. No power going to the leads. Spoke to the company and they sent me a defective board to replace and that took 2 weeks to come. Then accused me of wrongful install when I shouldn’t have to install a product that shouldn’t be broken. After I checked out the 2 boards I realized that the new board had 2 clips soldered wrong and it was shorting out of welder. All in all I’m pretty done with sequre as they really don’t understand that customers are the ones that make the company, not the other way around.
I just ordered a radmission1, and found your channel and already showing me how to modify the bike. Keep up the great work
I also think it looks like a Malectrics. Would be nice to see a tear down. Also, IMPORTANT, you should not weld at, or too near the center of the neg end of the cell, as that is where the internal connection is.
You should get Malectric... This is POS. Not worth buying and if you want to return when you see welds are NOTHING but a tack and DO NOT BUILD BATTERY REQUIRING .2M NICKLE AND EXPECT SAFE RESULT.
Nice! I never spot-welded before and this looks like a perfect, nice size equipment to buy for beginners to use without difficulty.
Did you get it? How well does it work? Does it still work the same and have you had repair it yet?
Thanks for the update on the spot welder. I have been holding back but this may make me buy.
I use the one from Malectrics with a car battery, while charging the car batery with a floating charger. It works like a charm. Both based on arduino.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that says little prayer before hooking up a lithium battery. Excellent video and product review! I have some electric projects planned and this spot welder seems like a good tool for beginners like me.
For sure, it takes very little time and effort - and seems worth it just in case it helps!
@@EbikeSchool Yes, it does help 😁 Thank you for your feedback!
I've been looking at pre-built batteries for awhile but they're either junk or too expensive. So I've decided to make my own and this spot welder seems to be the perfect tool! Doesn't break the bank and does professional quality welds, win, win! Nice review btw. :)
Glad I could help!
Very nice demo, thanks for that. I like how small it is.
bought the same one, love it... use it with a 12V AGM Marine battery, works like a charm.
Thank you for the review... it looks like a great spot welder to build DIY batteries.
This looks really cool! I might just get one to start making bike batteries myself.
Im new to your channel and im amazed to your informative DYI guide for building a ebike. I hope i got some of your book. More power and more tut to come.
Awesome. I’ve been looking for something well made and solid like this. There are a lot of crappy spot welders out there. I just ordered 1. Thanks for the discount
How has it been treating you?
This video was helpful in informing me about spot welding. Thank you
Looks like a great way to motivate me to move along on building batteries. Thanks Micah!
Loving the content. Looking to convert my mountain bike and building and electric trike based on a mountain bike rear for heading to my hunting spots on backroads this fall.
10:23 so much current cables are moving
Wow, nice catch! Magnetism is cool
Electrostriction and magnetostriction are cool. Can be hard on fuses as well.
Rebuilding 32v 14 Ah battery, Secure spot welder looks very useful, loving the vids
i'm still newbie in diy Lithium Battery. This one is a good tool for diy... hello from Malaysia.
What an awesome welder, Micah! I didn’t know that you could do this at home in TelAviv!
Love this welder, thanks Micah
I need a spot welder, thanks for vid Micah!
Love your tech reviews!
Great video! I am looking into getting a spot welder, good timing :)
I've been so lost with finding a good spot welder thanks!
Nice little welder, great review.
Stumbled on your channel, great video. I ordered via your link, saved $6.39. Thank you! Subscribed!
Hey. I think finding a way to be able to keep the separate welders with one hand (maybe 3d print something to keep them together but in appropriate distance) would be very nice.
This is a nice welder... Finally we got some competition to K-Weld. I hope the prices will go down so I can get one for mobile jobs. Thanks for showing!
Thanks for the review , good looking effective piece of gear
I like it, adding it to the list of equipment I need to repair my spare 48v 21ah battery pack.
Thats a cool spot welding machine, small and solid
I like the small package of this unit, would be easily portable to allow for in the field repairs, as opposed to the large shop units that require you to get your repair project into the shop to work on them.
Always useful Micah. Do you know where I could buy a bicycle frame that is already split so that I can build my own e-bike/bike using Gates belt ?
i really liked this video, it was very satisfying to watch
Loved this one, I need this thing.
Looks like something I might be interested in. TYVM for the Video.
This is really close to a pro unit.I wonder how many welds it will do continuously before overheating.also does it have a fuse, for protection? thanks for the video.
I’ll have one on the way soon !
Looks good. Time to see what's inside.
Thanks for an informative video, much appreciated.
Love your stuff man!
Awesome saw this earlier now got Micah doing a review sweet!
Another high quality video.
Thanks, should be useful when I start my own build.
Like the new tool. Stay safe.
What do you think of all the handheld spot welders on AliExpress? The ones with a built in battery for $30-$50? Most of them say they can weld up to .15mm-.2mm nickel. Do you have any experience with them?
Thanks thus looks like a great product!
Hey Micah! How's it go with welding nickel strip to nickel plated aluminium?
Looks like a Malectrics spot welder in a nicer case.
my thoughts exactly
interesting
Agree. I find it odd that he does not mention anything about that.
Very similar interface but pricy (£161 basic kit) got the Malectrics!
It should be verified if the manufacturer indeed copied the design and if yes, has he got permission to do that from malectrics?
Thanks for that review!!!
A little high in price but looks like it puts really nice solid welds. Bottom line, is it better than the SUNKKO 788H or similar spot welders?
thanks for the review
I might have to actually buy that spot welder. As it looks both compact and convenient to use. only question is, can it weld more then batteries?
Thanks Micah for the comprehensive video. Your channels provide a lot of good info! Any recommendations for sources or specific motors to power a large motorcycle? Thanks!
I normally work with more bicycle-sized power levels, but I'd recommend checking out QS Motor.
@@EbikeSchool thanks for the recommendation! They have a wide variety of motors to choose! I am working out the design now.
Nice and small one. Thank u mike.
Very impressive unit... definately the way to go when building reliable battery packs, but it would be nice if the tips of the probes were a little bigger, less welds could cover more surface area than having to do many smaller ones.
Thanks to you , i make a purchase for this spot welder
nice video! can you use a power supply instead of the LiPo battery to power this spot welder?
Hi Micah, thanks for the review. Can you explain the Short Pulse setting? The default is 12% and range 0-100%.
The hand held trigger is a welding machine in itself. I have seen them being sold separately as handy welding machines at some places online. You just have to plug it in 12 to 24 v power source, they say.
Love your videos. Thanks.
Great looking welder
Really comes across like a very good welder. Will wait for the price to drop. Thank you
Hope you're feeling better after your ammonia and your big move..
You probably got sick from your move,, I know I went to Russia and Siberia to adopt my daughter..
But when I got home I than had a temperature of 104 for over a month when I got back..
And I never been sick a day of my life..
Nice spot welder!
If u had a choice of spot welder comparison in your opinion would you choose the sq-sw1 or the maleltric
Looks like great welder
UI looks very similar to the malectrics spot welder
Do they make mains powered versions? Preferably one that can handle both 120V and 240V (or just 240V for my requirements)
If they did it would be more expensive than using a battery setup. Spot welding needs a lot of DC current so storing it in a DC battery is cheaper and easier than using large enough caps and switching circuitry to use AC input power
Although I've never spot welded before, but I suggest using a meady 12v 16ah LiFePO4 battery. Only $55 for 200Wh and it can do 500w continuous (40A) maybe more if you replace the internal BMS
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries can output so much more power without voltage drop. From what I've learned, voltage drop is usually what causes bad spot welds, so not powerful enough battery causes voltage drops, abd many things can cause that from battery type, size being too small, not enough charge on the battery, age, ect.
Hello Micah. I love all the DIY info you provide in your videos. I downloaded the Kindle version of your "DIY Lithium Batteries: ..." There are no illustrations in the downloaded version? Did Kindle forget to add them or is they just not included in the E-version" I assume that there are illustrations in the hard copy. Thank you. Dave Isaacson
The spring loaded probes maybe you can install it in one of those inexpensive presses for hand-drills.
Will this make a re weld strong enough to hold a handle to a 2 quart Revere sauce pan?
Thanks for the great videos, I was wondering with this spot welder how it will do with different thicknesses? I have been looking for a reasonable priced unit that will handle 0.15 or higher and maybe nickel plated copper up to 0.3. Thank you
The pulse time can be adjusted by spot welding different thickness nickel strip.
You can start with 5ms pulse time and slowly turn it up. Up to 500ms
Find a suitable pulse time.
Of course, the pulse time is also related to the discharge coefficient of the battery you use.
This can be adjusted, but from experience mine went out after about a week. Remember that it’s going to take weeks to get warranty if you can even get warranty. I don’t recommend this spot welder for longevity. I took mine apart and it was poorly soldered and was pretty bad quality. If you can get your hands on a k-weld you should. Not this one speaking from a person that regrets their purchase
@@bulldozaaa9353 thank you for sharing your experience.
Thank you for the video. It would be nice if you took it apart to see the internal construction and quality.
I have a 2021 Bolton Lancer and I’m having trouble getting a secondary battery for it, seems it’s always out of stock. I’ve just purchased your book on DIY lithium battery. I’m not sure it will do me any good in build a battery for the Lancer as the secondary battery Bolton/Area 13 sells for the Lancer has a proprietary plug the plugs into the side of the Lancer. Do you have any thoughts on this?
Awesome build. How many of those 36v batteries would I need to power a 36v golf cart?
How long do you think it will take for 18650 batteries to be available again? Most sellers that I have seen are sold out for most types.
You did a very professional job nice voice also l believe you sold me on this one
Have you tried welding copper strip with this and how do you compare this to a kweld?
how about connecting d 18650-ies with magnets? like flat ones, 25x10x3mm for example? big question: could they damage or discharge d cells? maybe not as permanent solution, but at least for testing, when trying out different configs it would be practical. i may have seen it somewhere on d web. but, is it safe for d cells?
Would love to see a follow-up on this product. Have you built any packs with it yet?
I second this!
Just what I need !
Do you think it is fairly priced? I recently purchase a similar setup for $15.
Very easy and portable machine, interesting
im a newbie 'Im getting one'. .....thank u great review
You mentioned that you will “clean up” your test spot welds later. What method do you use to clean them up? This could be useful information for us DIY used 18650 crowd.
@Ivan Goring what type of file? All the files I have are straight. How do you clean up the negative side without also damaging the battery sleeve?
@@vxeel get a Dremel or flat file.
What else besides battery making would a spot welder be good for? Is it only for electronics?
What kind of batteries are them and what do you use them for ?
Nice Battery Welder. I would love to learn how i can make my own 18650 or 26650 Battery for my E-Bike.
Hi micah. How does it compare to the kweld
hi , love your info ( thank you so much )
love to see you do a complete pack of 50 cels whit that thing
I fly R/C aircraft, I have seen explosions from bad charging. And have had some scary swelling, of overworked batteries, it happens fast, it's crazy hot, and if done in a car or basement, you could lose both!! One bad connection...you have an incindiery bomb! Be careful check three times!!!!
That's a nice little machine.
Thanks for
EbikeSchool.com review and spot weld testing. Super excited.
Why is the knob left to increase time? 🤷🏼♂️ Oven and stereo is turning right 🤔
@@TheStuartstardust Hello, it is differences in usage habits.
Would be nice to know if the item was purchased by you as an individual - is this the same set I can purchaes?. Also was the item given in exchange for review-they send you review, and you keep. Cheers
Thanks for vidéo , need to purshase one similar , IS it from Aliexpress?
Excellent!!
