- If you have a REALLY old low end potato PC that has no graphics card, you might have run into the opengl error, so i've made a video on how to fix that and it works. here is the video:

but the issue is that I only get 1fps and this 3 steps guide will make your FPS Playable even with such old system you won't believe it, but it really WORKS!!
This video is a guide on how to fix your FPS in the latest version of Minecraft (1.20.4) on a VERY low end pc, the boost also works even if you have a better PC.

You should also mention that there's Vulkan renderer, although it won't support most of older gpu/igpu, And there's also Vulkan Optimized which basically a modpack that aims for fps.
@@Ilikewinter123 i've heard it had issues with some mods that rely on opengl. Gpu's released after and has better capability than the Geforce GT 640, Radeon HD 7730, or an intel UHD 630 have vulkan support, which means gpu's before that wouldn't have it. I can't recommend vulkan yet with these exceptions unfortunately.
@@tubo_channel Yeah, it's in alpha testing, If the devs somehow make it so that the mods are compatible with it then it would be absolute bonkers, but as if right now the devs said that he doesn't have knowledge to do it so yeah..

I have a windows 7 similar to this but better that iam using and with low resol no mods i get like 25 fps , with mods up to 50-60 avg (when they decide to work properly on goofy pc).
Bro Can you tell how to download java 21 for windows 7 32 bit because for the version 1.20.5 It needs JDK 21 even for the future version of minecraft 1.21 would be needing JDK 21

I did get more mods after sodium, it's further in the video (way less lag spike btw) i might wanna add a timestamp lmao.
The geforce 820m is good, but there are different architecture, the GK107 (kepler, which is way faster)
And the GF117B (fermi, is slower but still not bad).
You can check in GPU-Z.
If it's a Kepler you're very lucky cuz it's pretty good and has NVENC encoder.

Mostly a false positive though, it's widely known mod loader for quite a long time, as long as you downloaded from the original source, it should be fine

If updating the graphics driver doesn't fix that issue, then you can try my opengl fix video, it works by replacing your graphics to a software renderer with opengl 4.5, it'll run a lot slower but at least you can run version 1.17+

No it's not, it's a software rendering which will make the game a lot laggier but you'll get a higher opengl version that is required to run 1.17+ (opengl 3.2), if ur pc could run 1.16.5 normally, i highly suggest just run it like normal or without the opengl32 file, since it's using your hardware IGPU to render

You need to change it before using sodium (or remove sodium) cuz sodium doesn't have the option to change. You can just play around with the resolution slider and see what works best (for me it's 640x480)

Dude I am getting 50fps with same PC as yours while playing cpvp i use sodium extra dynamic fps better fps lithium fps reducer exordium and some more fps mods on tlauncher if I do it on legacy it can go upto 60 fps and I also optimized my windows 7 And I am at full 720 resolution

@@gtx_vid did you came from my previous opengl error fix video? If you do i want you to remove the opengl32.dll file and just play like normal. That laptop sounds new and shouldn't have any issue with the game at all

If you're playing a version past 1.20.4 you'll need to replace your current java to java 21, since the requirement has changed from 17 to 21 when 1.20.5 was released. I don't think windows 10 is necessary, windows 7 is still working great for me even in 1.21

The processor is good but the rest of it is too cheap, you'd get a better deal with an rtx 3050 8gb + i5 12400f (12th gen), 16gb ddr4 ram, 1tb of SSD, might be cheaper than 699$. i recommend buying each component separately, then hire someone to build it, or buy from a reputable pc building company (100$ less value).

@@Youness-f6p nevermind, i think the i7 12th gen+gtx 1650 combo is already worth it, especially if you need the extra CPU performance, but i think you should upgrade it to 16gb once it arrives, dual channel is better too (8gb just isn't really enough nowadays). the rtx 3050+i5 12th gen combo is only better mostly on the gpu part/ rtx benefits, still loses to the i7 12th gen.

You need to use 640x480, the lowest setting like in the video, use sodium and wait a couple minutes for the world to load, then it should be good enough at 15-30fps
Man,i had the same problem so i decided to fix it by myself and it worked,try to go in device manager and Update your graphic driver and then just search how to use your dedicated driver for minecraft
