My laptop is £1,100 (around 1,600$) and gets 350 fps on Minecraft with lunar client, the video's fake lol.
@@blacaurax3799 Linux only increases performance by like 20% on games, its more focused on os optimisation. Also ubuntu is just as heavy as windows so it doesnt make a difference.
@@KaaayKaay i bought my laptop in 2017 for around 250$ and atm it runs optifine 1.19 on 30-40 fps and lunar 1.8 on 120 or less

@@blacaurax3799I mean windows 10 and above is just painfully slow on this type of hardware like mine but I installed windows 8.1 and you can use 8.1 or below to get amazing performance on this hardware.
My laptop is the HP notebook 14-cm0508sa and it has 4gb ram 2gigerhertz processor and a 1080p 60hz display, it’s pretty much the same and it has amazing performance on windows 8.1 or 7 because there is barely any processes

@wariables-yj7ug not everything. Some games running through proton perform worse than windows whereas others perform better.

fun fact: 1.17 brought a huge OpenGL update and due to a driver quirk on its OpenGL Windows driver, 2nd gen Intel iGPUs will actually give nonsupported errors on 1.17+ if you decided to go with Windows. Great job for going with Linux, you did actually get the most maintained driver thus 1.17+ runs fine!

Wow I didn't know that! So choosing Linux instead of Windows gives more life (and in most cases more performance as well) to our pcs for Minecraft.
@@berkantari981 Very much so! He did a video with another $1 laptop a while ago and the Windows drivers only worked on Windows 7 with 1.16 or older
.. With Linux he managed to not only run 1.20 but he also managed to get the same performance the laptop he used in that other video had (which was significantly more powerful than this one from what i remember)

Installing Windows is super easy, don't forget drivers of course, I have a bad feeling you did would have... Linux is certainly better if you don't have an SSD though.
I don't even wanna begin to imagine what the dust and thermal paste situation is like inside lol

A symptom of Windows crashing on boot is often a charger without enough volts
Proving again and again that linux runs on everything! The problem with Windows is probably, that it can't find some driver or it finds it, but it's not for the hardware of the laptop, so for the example the GPU just crashes when it tries to initialize.
Do you know what's crazy? I also saw that laptop on eBay. I could have gotten it, lol

I actually got some great information from this vid....
I have a 15 years old laptop and windows was running really slow, so i installed ubuntu and now it has become at least 10 times faster so thanx for the information dude 👍👍👍

my old laptop was worse than this one, and somehow I managed to play over 200 hours of Fallout NV on it
when I bought my gaming PC I destroyed it and threw it away
The game would go lower than 10 fps in most areas, and around 23-25 on the good parts. To travel I needed to look to the ground, so the fps would go up. My build was fully focused on V.A.T.S., cuz otherwise, I couldn't hit anything
It was a nightmare, but it still is one of my favorite games.
(The laptop was also HP)

My MacBook Air 2020 is actually slightly better than this 1$ laptop as it has a i5 and a Retina display along with a decent working battery. But dayum that sure was worth the buy :0

How did you get past windows saying there was no drivers using the hard drive? I have a hp laptop that I’m trying to install windows on and when I get to the windows driver thingy screen it also says there aren’t any places to install the driver to or from. So idk if you can help me
I can top that, my current notebook is literately rescued from the recycling bin, a Thinkpad L470, it sports an i5 7200U, 16 GByte of RAM, a 250 GB SSD and runs Debian.

The sad part is that this laptop is somehow better than old.laptop I used to use which was a Lenovo laptop.made for a work environment that got a max of 15 fps vanilla MC 1.8.9 and the $1 got 22 0_0
To be honest,this can run 1.12.2 minecraft at 15 - 20 fps (I used to use the same laptop from different brand same specs)
