Went to Goodwood Revival 2023, my wife’s first time. The GT40’s & Cobras were SO loud. Later on the Lightweight E-Types came out, ‘oh good, E-Types are much quieter…’ So wrong.🤣
Thank God it is what it is and not another Porsche video with it's ever present cadre of fanboys. Not that there's anything wrong with that. STILL while not denying that they are great cars vintage Jaguar cars have a unique appeal owing to the components that make up the engine and what an engine! Sure, it's more conventional in layout anyway yet pushed the tech. envelope as a brand in the late 40's /early 50's. Just as the E type pushed the styling envelope in such an elegant and graceful way.
Back pressure from a muffler or pipe length is critical for motors running high over lap cams. With a Hemi head you cannot run extreme overlap cams so only moderate back pressure is required so the open pipes work fine.
No one mentioned a class, all he said was "here's a full race motor", . . . the term full race means full race, no further modifications will gain any more HP. That's not true in this case. There's more that can be done for increased HP.@@Jagracer15
@@jagitmax He mentioned a class just there in the comment ^ Your assumptions and complaints are a bit silly... he doesn't have to include any particular details in the video title or description just because you want it lol. And you're wildly mistaken about the meaning of "full race." Top Fuel dragsters are probably the only cars fitting your definition, and I think we can all agree there are other race cars in existence.
An "E Type " with a full set of Webbers is Masterful Mechanical Musical Marvel
A true Jaguar enthusiasts! My dad has owned his for 20 years, and like you has no reason to sell, only to hand it down in the family. Brilliant car.

Beautiful setup. The engine can really breathe now with those tube headers and sidedraft Weber carbs.....

Thank you
That XK engine oh man😊
Congratulations
Sounds and looks amazing! Would it be possible to hear it on the road or track? I know that may present difficulties, but it sure would be fun.

Have seen the car for years, thought you sold it though.
I have owned this car for 40+ years. No plans to sell it unless I got a ridiculous offer.... ;)
The car from Petrolicious? Lovely.
@@codylontoc8065 yes!
Does it have any kind of muffler/silencer or the exhaust is just a straight pipe? If thats a straight pipe - doesnt it consume horsepower?

I don't see a wide angle head along with an aloy block , like a full race engine ;)
Those are not legal in US vintage racing rules.
yet those are period correct and FIA compliant , I'm confused, FIA is very picky usually@@Jagracer15
FIA regulations don’t apply to most US racing clubs. Wide angle heads and alloy blocks were never allowed in US production classes.
That's a bumer ! FIA regulations really sucks 99% of the time but this time not really @@Jagracer15

You couldn't give us just one look at the whole car?!

I thought a full race engine would at least have a wide angle head.😱
not in this class....not allowed.
