    More classic CN memories! I got into CN when it first became a channel, and remember all those old programs and such.
    Also remember a lot of these commercials. Particularly, the All-Time Favorite Children's Songs and the whistling meatballs. As soon as that commercial popped on in this video, it triggered a long buried memory and I was like, "wait, are there whistling meatballs in this one?!", and sure enough, "Whistle While You Work" and there was the close-up of those whistling meatballs! LOL!

      I had magenta Gak and yeah it smelled. I can almost remember the scent. My last memory of it was thinking I wanted to play with it only to find it dried out in my closet. 😂

    In regards to "Magic Ice Cream Party", in the immortal words of a girl that my mom used to babysit around this time, "What's magic about fake ice cream?"
    I have no idea why that has always stuck with me, but it still makes me laugh.

    13:56 - This commercial aired in May of 94, and the Pagemaster movie didn't come out until November of that year. Wow, they were really hyping this thing early. I do remember Fox believed it was going to be a huge blockbuster, and hyped it big with a lot of promotional deals, and even a tie-in video game.

    didn’t know Pagemaster had a book for the film, or is this a different story than the pc and video games?

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  5 лет назад +5

      It was an adaptation of the screenplay. It follows the same general story as the film but much of the artwork doesn't match (the main character in it looked more like the blond kid in "Step By Step" than Macaulay Culkin). It was released several months before the film was released, but my hunch is that the film was intended to come out in late 1993 (the year it was copyrighted) or early '94 but was delayed because the animation was behind schedule.

    Is that Alisa Reyes from All That in the Corn Pops commercial?

  • @yusakug

    I've never seen the movie 3 Ninjas Kick Back, but it can't live up to the video game adaptation for the Sega CD, which frequently featured Full Motion Video of the disembodied head of actor Victor Wong (who played the grandfather in the films) appearing and giving advice to the player. Unless the movie somehow features Wong's disembodied head interrupting the action and talking to the audience, I'm skipping it.
