Many of us still love this design, not everyone wants a huge phone, I just want something that I know it already worked for me before but faster and with more longevity.

my old SE dies more every day. power button just stopped working, thumbprint is essentially nonexistent, maps is bad, and the bad battery goes without saying after the updates

I’m actually impressed by this phone and I’m currently saving it up for it but despite the specs and price, Apple really needs to step up the battery and charging game.
Battery is the only problem.
I have the iPhone SE and the battery life isn't bad. It gets me around 4 and a half to 5+ hrs of screen on time so it's not a big worry. The battery life is OK not great. It should get you through the day no problem,

Samsung galaxy S10e has similar dimensions then iPhone SE, and they managed to put a 3100 mAh + a headphone jack and a larger screen + 2 cameras at the back. Apple could have put a larger battery in such device if they really wanted...
If They give at least 2500 MAh battery with night mode on camera with a headphone jack.

I came from the iPhone 7 which is still an amazing device despite it's age and size. I'm able to play any game available but at medium graphics which is not a big deal to me. On a full charge, I can play cod mobile up to three hours which is pretty good. Scrolling through social media and watching RUclips videos lasts about six hours.
The main negative of the iPhone 7 is the battery and size. Which is a huge concern to a lot of people. That's the reason why I switched to the iPhone 11 instead of the SE.
Buying the OnePlus 7 Pro off my sister so I can play games more often thanks to the warp charge 😁

Battery lasts for 1 hour
The small battery's remedy is certainly a pair of 18w charger and wireless charger and I'm sold. The bezels do not turn me off so long as it's all black front and rear
Sure it has the design that is used since the release of the iPhone 6 back in 2014, but keep in mind: the single camera is better then the one found in the iPhone XR(!!), it rocks the superior A13 processor with 3GB RAM, the battery also lasts longer in real life the the iPhone 8. I've had my iphone 6 for the past 4 years? Its an absolute workhorse and might make the upgrade to this in a year when prices drop to around $250 - $280.. You can buy them now used in good condition for around $320.

Battery wont last more than 2 years for power users. What's the point of an A13 when you drain your battery in minutes trying to take advantage of its massive power? I'm talking YT streaming over LTE and video recording and of course gaming. And the shitty battery makes the 5 years of software updates useless.
I expected maybe 10-20 percent less battery life than Iphone 11. But the tests i've seen are like 30-50 percent less battery life. One reputable reviewer got 2 hours and 45 minutes of Screen On Time on a brand new SE running a game.
ah yes, the iPhone SE 2020, the sequel to the one in iPhone SE. More nostalgia, that's for sure, and until now, this is the latest classic iPhone. It's not Pocophone F1, that's for sure, but it's a phone alright. Here's what I could recap:
- This is one long description: cutting-edge performance, good build quality, waterproof build (wow), flagship-level camera, great stereo speakers and up-to-date software support
- The battery life is easily bad, i was surprised for the first time I saw the spec sheet of the iPhone SE 2020, 1821 mAh. However, I'm surprised that it can hold the endurance at 59 h. Why? The same score is also earned from the Moto G7 Plus (if i'm correct) which had a 3000 mAh battery. So, nice job there Apple. But, 5W charging brick? Yeah, i don't think so.
- While the display has the most accurate colors of other LCDs (as Apple claims with their Liquid Retina display), its resolution is too low for 400 euros. But taking back the features it had, actually you could get a great value. However, at the same price point, you can get 1080p AMOLED.
- I think the design is just too small, 5.5 inches are my minimum, and the 4.7 inches plus bezels is rather too small for my hand to handle. But some people prefer a compact design.
- While the stereo speakers are great, there's no headphone jack, like in the days of iPhone 7.
- The memory is only 3GB, keep that in mind.
- Plus no night mode is a big disappointment here, because more phones are putting night more through older phones with software updates.
All and all, this is one great phone. Maybe a lot of customers are gonna buy this, this is a good phone, but I couldn't call this phone a "flagship killer". Then again, Android will be still at the top, even though it's really fragmented. Sure, maybe some execs in OnePlus and Realme will be surprised, but no, actually the price of 400 euros/dollars doesn't include THE DONGLES. So, yeah, you might reconsider that, i'm still in love with Android. However, I heard that there are great deals surrounding this phone, especially when you trade-in. However, I don't call that as a great idea. I'm confused if this is a great or bad phone, it's up to you to decide.

Expectations are not of flagship level, they should be at least mediocre. But this is way below that for the price point.
Hi. Small battery, just use the Apple smart battery case and double the life. There are multiple apps for "night-mode" that are better than some dedicated modes. Hugh bezels, retro is great in a world where every phone looks the same! Pretty phones are a demographic, what matters is if it does the job at the price.

for me, battery life is not a concern at its price point. You get the Apple a13 bionic at 400 USD If some other company made a phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ or a MediaTek dimensity 1000 at 400 USD I would get it, but currently only Apple is making flagship processors for mid-range phones. Yes, I can just get the LG G8 from last year or s10e but that's where the lack of major software updates come in, the LG will get one more, iPhone SE will get 5 more.
i've had the same Oppo android since 2015 (!!!) and this phone is one of my candidates for a replacement phone despite the bezel and battery. Other candidates on my list are iPhone 11 and Huawei P40.
Number 1. it's a really good starter phone if you've never had a phone before I'm hoping to get the white version for my birthday.

LOL I really don't get the point of all these cameras quad cameras 3 cameras soon enough we're going to have five cameras Jorge the whole back of the phone is just going to be cameras not trying to be rude or anything but if you really want to take a quality photos please go out and go buy an actual camera your phone can you use for way more important things but calling and texting people calling people in case you're an emergency and same way with texting we're keeping up with the grandmother LOL that's another thing I like about the SE it only has one camera personally I don't care about all those features and everything sure yet looks retro or whatever but I think that's what makes it unique in this day maybe it'll draw people's attention ensure yeah it doesn't have the best battery life for anything but you know like just use your phone for what you need it for and then you can save battery life LOL personally to me I think everything on this phone is amazing may not be the best quality but hey think of it better than nothing

What's the point of A13 Bionic with such a small display and battery? Apart from the camera, nothing in the phone is worth the price. Not to mention, $400 for a phone with 4hrs of SOT is a big no no.

Apart from the obvious it is future-proofing. Many iPhones are kept for 5-years plus (due to updates) so having a high performance SoC means in 2025 it will still be relevant. The Samsung A51 will have no support and will slow down and have a poor user experience.
I still prefer a 4,7 inch screen smartphone in 2020, yeah i’ll definitely pick this up.

So 4 years from now, it will still have decent performance even after multiple iOS updates.
I know Apple users who are still clinging to the even smaller 4" iPhone SE (2016) and even bought spares. The fast A9 chipset made it possible to use that phone for a very long time (tech-wise).
For users who were willing to make the switch from 4" to 4.7" or those on 6/6s/7/8 and don't wish to go bigger or are waiting for notchless FaceID iPhones, the SE2 with A13 should tide them over for quite a while. Probably until at least 2025.

@@ruihanazawa4136 This is true in a sense, but then by the time 2025 comes by, tech would've advanced more and so the SE becomes redundant. The batteru capacity is what limits the phone imo. Apps are getting larger, I bet there will come a time where pixel binning is no longer necessary and phones use the full mp of their cameras. By that time, the SE would be no match. Don't you forget that the SE body is already 3yo. By 2025 it'll be 7yo
where I live this phone costs around 600$ with 64gb rom...it is more expensive than countless flagships like p40, s10, poco f2, op7t....

The rumors indicate that they are gonna do exactly that this year with iPhone 12. It'll have a 5.4" full screen display, face ID, better battery, better camera, A14 etc. but it'll cost like $650 on the flip side.

To the plebs in the comment section yes, this phone is pleb to everyone with a decent android phone. But it’s meant for the people who have really old iPhones and have not yet decided for an upgrade. It has a capable processor for at least 4 years worth of updates (which compared to most android devices is incredible). If you don’t use Airdrop, Apple watches, Air Pods, FaceTime, iMessage and haven’t even spent a lot of money in the app eco system, then this phone isn’t for you.
Not to mention yes, I despise the battery life, the slow charging and the form factor but that doesn’t even come close to the problems caused by taxes in a couple of countries. (Cough ... cough ... India)
I think the phone being supported for so long is a con. The hardware is already outdated today, 4 years from now its gonna be even worse and the phone is gonna feel like its 8 years old rather than 4

It also would make the phone way more expensive because the hole body and internals would have to developed again instead of just use what you already developed. You clearly don't know how the whole Branche is working and what many people actually want. Not everyone prefers a bezelless design.
look I come from a 6s iPhone and for me it is a huge improvement in all aspects so this phone it is great for people upgrading from the 6, 6s or 7 but if you come from an X, XR or something this phone it's definitely not for you
I get what you are saying but because of the small battery, you might as well have never gotten rid of the 6s because both phones have a trash battery. Give the SE about a year or two and you'll see it's "impressive" 5 hours of screentime turn to 1 hour

With Apple products, geography is quite a painful factor to consider. In all seriousness, even with its flaws, this is a good deal at USD 400. And that's only valid in the US (dunno about Canada). However, here in India, the SE is actually costlier than a frigging Oneplus 8!!! There is absolutely NO reason to buy an iPhone SE in India.
Very similar in Australia.
For the price there are too many Android options for cheaper and better.

This phone is a controversial case, since you have those neat aspects like powerful CPU and IP-rating, but then IPS and huge bezels? With OLED screen and even slightly slimmer top and bottom bezels I could no doubt applaud this phone, but as it is, it is a phone for a niche market that will be most likely bought by many more because of the logo. IPS is NOT okay in a device over 300 € if there are no major compensating factors, which there are in this case, but not enough if you ask me. Still, I'm happy this device exists since many people miss their days with iPhone 4S which this phone gets quite close to being. Tough nut and shame on that battery life.
I'm actually glad it still has LCD since the OLED phones I've tried gave me migraines. Will try the upcoming $650 5.4" iPhone 12 with OLED but if that gives my migraines as well, back to SE for me.

To be honest, I don't care about the battery. You have the option for fast charge the phone, so for me, it's not an issue, I like the form factor, I had night mode on the previous android phone, try it a few times and that's it, this is my first iPhone since iPhone 4 and I am happy with my purchase, kudos to Apple.
The shitty battery wont last more than 2 years if you're a power user (video recording, gaming, or watching YT). I have the exact same battery on the 6 and it's garbage. IOS updates destroyed its battery life.

I get over 10h SOT with my smart battery case so gets me through 3-4 days in the current lockdown. The advantage with Apple is the accessories so most con can be rectified.

Faust Von Barley For the entry one dude. You can get a Quadcore for only $100 more and on all other Macbooks besides the Air, they're always running a Quad core.
That's WAY better than most Windows manufacturers who for example still put 4GB of RAM in their $1000 laptops.

Most People who buy this phone won't use it that heavily which means they easily last a day and charge it over night - like most people do anyway. Fast charging is so extremely overhyped...
And therefore charging slowly is way better for longevity.

Soustab Haldar It may won't last for you. Tens of millions of people are still using the iPhone 6, 6S etc. and they have no problem with it lasting a day or longer. Not everyone needs 6-8h SoT every day.
