I'm 84 years old, and traveled the world when I was your age, but that was before the nomad era, when you had to take a tour or a cruise, and that set the itinerary. Your videos mean so much to me because I can vicariously travel the same area I traveled, but see what can't be seen on a tour or a cruise. Thanks for doing those hikes. They add so much to the video because the real beaty is on the trials.
We traveled to Alaska from Minnesota in 2023 too. We were about 6 days behind you on the Alaska Hwy. We stayed at some of the same campgrounds, but learned of some great boondocking places watching your videos. We plan on returning to Alaska and spending more time there in 2025. You have showed us some great things that we missed the last trip. Thank You!
These videos from Alaska have blown me away. After reading about Richard Proenneke and seeing your videos, I will visit Alaska. Thank you so much Robert for these wonderful vistas. Just beautiful.
Hi Robert. It is good to watch this video where we spent the summer. You portrayed the Denali area very accurately. There was a lot wildlife in the area. You're making me relive the same awesome views you showed in the video. It was good to see you and wife at the Horseshoe Lake trail and also at Rainbow Village. I am looking forward to seeing the future videos of the areas we didn't visit. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for being the best and first person to inspire me to get out on the road! Got mv first van and going to start vlogging soon with my cat! 😊 Cannot wait!!
Hello Traveling Robert, this was an AMAZING video exploring Denali National Park in Alaska. I really enjoyed the bus ride into Denali and the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Views on the loop trails following the rivers. This was OUTSTANDING Robert! Sorry that I missed you yesterday as my friend and I took a road trip to Keane, New Hampshire and right below Mount Monadnock. This was a beautiful drive to Keane and seeing glimpses of Mount Monadnock as we were driving to Keane. I can remember the hike the you too up to Mt.Monadnock. Looking forward to the next video😎😎😎.
If it's Sunday, it must be time for a new Traveling Robert episode. I don't think I'll ever make it to Denali, so it's nice to experience it through your lens. It's odd that the bus driver had the McKinley story wrong--you'd think someone would have called him on his mistake at some point. I have to smile seeing those carved bears in front of the souvenir shops--those things look exactly the same in every tourist town. As far as "discouraging" visitation, I think staffing levels are a major factor--there simply aren't enough rangers to go around. Not to mention maintenance issues--keeping just the existing roads and facilities in decent repair is more than a full time job. Besides I would argue fewer people out there makes for a better experience. In a way I think Ed Abbey had it right 50 years ago when he decried "industrial tourism" -- we're seeing the result of that now. No easy answers, that's for sure. By the way, it's good to see that you remembered your hiking shoes🙂 Happy trails!
What a treat to have George H. W. Bush narrating your tour... Hey, can we stop for a restroom break? "Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent at this juncture."
We went all the way to where the road ends in Denali in 2009. The reason they did not let people drive all the way in was mainly for safety. The road is narrow, many areas only one vehicle at a time. It was all gravel and no guardrails. This is due to asphalt and rails add to melting the permafrost in the area. The roads so narrow that buses had to stop at widening in road then signal to the other bus which one was to go 1st. Believe it was scary even when not driving. That was the reasons they gave us about not allowing public driving. I wish you could of gone all the way in. The scenery does get better. But Mother Nature can be mean and land slides and other events can cut out some great areas. They had some trails at Grand Canyon wash out this year and many couldn’t go on trails. Bad year for the parks I guess. I’ll try to send you a drawing I did of Mt McKinley while I was staying in Denali in2009. Hopefully you both get to go when roads are open again.
A bit of trivia: The mountain was, indeed, still officially Mt McKinley in 2009, but was changed to Denali in 2016. Most Alaskans, however, shunned the name McKinley and always called North America’s tallest peak Denali.
If you go to Denali take road to at least eilson. Also get off bus and go on a few hour hike. It’s well worth it. Also get two day pass on bus if you can.
To be honest, it's the highest peak in the world. Everest just sits on higher ground. Technically Hawaii volcano is larger, starting from the ocean floor.
We really enjoy your videos for years but the music is very loud. We have to lower and raise the volume constantly. Also, new and different music would be nice too. But all in all, thank you for entertaining us.
And I think your right about the "discouraging" us from going into parks...wouldn't be surprised if one day we have to "earn" our way into them...lots of restrictions I think are coming in the name of "saving" the planet from us very bad humans! How dare we exist and walk in the parks and forests! We should just stay inside all the time! 🙄
Sorry your having so many issues. Have you checked with your contractor friends if the 4 foot addition you built on two sides is connected to the main structure sufficiently? It would be terrible if it ever moved or came loose.
Robert- I don’t like to bring politics into your videos, but you got hit with bidenonics for that pizza. 😂 Now I also know how the big auto makers get the names of their vehicles. Another awesome video of our beautiful state of Alaska. 👍
Politics has nothing to do with the price of the pizza. I’ve been to the restaurants outside of Denali National Park dozens of times since 1979 and they’ve always had outrageous prices. The vast majority of tourists visiting Alaska are wealthy enough to afford jacked up prices and the vendors take full advantage of it.
I always get a little concerned with products(and sponsors) offering me 86% off. Like, is that the number y'all figured WOULDN'T sound too good to be true. WOW, I'm so lucky to have had RUclips auto play your video and get me 86% off this service.

Robert Morales is a national treasure.

Really looking forward to every video you post Robert and Ily!! Everything you post is an unforgettable experience! 👍😄👍
We did the Denali tour bus in Sept 2015. It was awesome, later took the Alaska Railroad to Anchorage. Best trip ever.
What a beautiful mountain painted with snow. ❤
When we took the bus thru Denali we even had to talk quietly so as not to disturb any animals. So worth it! Great video😊
Wow! Beautiful views! Alaska is definitely going on my must do list 📃👍. Thanks for sharing this with us 👍
After the crazy rough drive to the Arctic, it was a nice change of pace that someone else is doing the driving for once.
Thank you Robert, follow you from italy 😁 cheers
Thank you Robert for this beautiful Video. I h’ve been waiting to see all your Alaska Videos.
Wonderful video Robert!! I’m so glad you got the crab- so neat!!! Loved seeing a pizza I never imagined before!! 🦀
Sunday morning tranquility video. Your the Best Robert! 😊
Excellent hike 🚶♂️ with beautiful views...apparently the beavers of Denali where consulted for the construction of the Hoover Damn...
Awesome video, thanks for the invite. I've always wanted to go up there. Safe travels!!!!!
I am so excited to see Denali! Robert, you make me feel like I’m watching Yellowstone. Lol.
I can hardly wait to watch this one after my 12 hour ER shift.
Mr. Robert, that looked like an awesome place to visit, thank you for the wonderful video... 🍻
Outstanding location 👏 👌 👍, such a beautiful area, stunning views, spellbound, enjoy very much, thanks.

Thank you!
I am at minute 37 and haven't blinked my eyes yet.
Ooooh nice Denali lodge...my church doing a cruise next May
Great video. Love seeing all the wildlife.
Spectacular job!
Nice! I can go to Alaska in my underwear! Thanks!

Great video great view. Park live stream RUclips 👍
Power to hiking boots!
Can't believe those king crab legs were soo expensive . . . . in Alaska!
Nice video Robert always love ur videos keep up the great work
Thanks 👍
Looks like you found a truck wash...looks pretty clean
You only live once, Robert. I would pay the $98 for the pizza.
What a beautiful place, thank you for taking us along. Did you really say $98 for crab pizza!?
Yep... crazy. It was way more expensive in Seward... so I said no
Great video!
Honestly I thought King crab would be less expensive in Alaska.
Denali is top 5 most prominent peaks in the world. Would wish to see it one day
Great video? How did you handle the rules regarding filming in national parks??
If you go to Denali take road to at least eilson. Also get off bus and go on a few hour hike. It’s well worth it. Also get two day pass on bus if you can.
Wow.. that’s amazing views you should use drone footage for this one 👍
Unfortunately drones are not allowed at national parks.
Oh I see thanks I been watching your episodes they’re so cool my next dream trip is from Seattle,WA to AK . Greetings from South Carolina ✌️
To be honest, it's the highest peak in the world. Everest just sits on higher ground. Technically Hawaii volcano is larger, starting from the ocean floor.
I heard that some geography classes in certain other countries teach people that Aconcagua & Denali are on the same continent.
Well, technically, before the Panama Canal, North and South America were the same land mass... but yeah...
ЛАЙК !!! 😊👍
We really enjoy your videos for years but the music is very loud. We have to lower and raise the volume constantly. Also, new and different music would be nice too. But all in all, thank you for entertaining us.
Did you know that beavers do not like the sound of moving water? This is reason they build dams to restrict flow of water.
They didnt aprove my filming request from the National Park. :(
As close as I want to be to that bear
What’s the trekking season in Denali? summer?
I would imagine
And I think your right about the "discouraging" us from going into parks...wouldn't be surprised if one day we have to "earn" our way into them...lots of restrictions I think are coming in the name of "saving" the planet from us very bad humans! How dare we exist and walk in the parks and forests! We should just stay inside all the time! 🙄
Actually we will just be the financiers for the elite to go into the parks so they can enjoy them without the crowds.
👍
Denali has a greater prominence than Everest, which is why it's soooo high in appearance and enormous.
Sorry your having so many issues. Have you checked with your contractor friends if the 4 foot addition you built on two sides is connected to the main structure sufficiently? It would be terrible if it ever moved or came loose.
I think you commented on the wrong video.
@@TravelingRobertoops your correct. We did enjoy your Danali video today. Thanks
All the fools yelling! 🤡🤣
$98. for a Pizza! Was it worth it? 🦀 🍕
The pizza was below average but the crab was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten
So pack of wolves chase down a caribou. Also ran into very blonde grizzlies hiking an hour or so off bus. Get out and hike if you can.
It 1 little animal makes you all that excited on that bus then please, please spoil yourself and visit Africa….🙏
Someday
Robert- I don’t like to bring politics into your videos, but you got hit with bidenonics for that pizza. 😂
Now I also know how the big auto makers get the names of their vehicles.
Another awesome video of our beautiful state of Alaska. 👍
Wow! Biden owns that pizza shop?! Thanks for the info! 🤣🤣
