White eyes turning into herobrine was someone probably just misreading and thinking "two pixels" meant the fact that the only difference between herobrine and steve is the two pixels in the eyes being changed to white
This feels like looking into an alternate universe, but it isn't, it was just forgotten by time. Who knows what else could be right under our noses relating to Minecraft that's been forgotten? I'd love to see White Eyes get the popularity she was robbed of a decade ago.

white eyes isn't built good enough for popularity, its just white eyes, madeup of a concept art, herobrine comes from a glitched human mob in someone's world randomly(my theory), thats why the legend became trendy

like i said in a tweet, the fact that THIS didn't get popular over herobrine is very disappointing. White Eyes had a legitimately creepy design instead of just a steve skin with white eyes, AND, on top of that, doesn't even deviate that much from Minecraft's regular mob design.
im kinda glad we got the herobrine we have, the two concepts play on entirely different fears
@@layt187 yeah i can kind of see that. idk just.... an entirety original creature that isn't at all humanoid is something i really like a lot. especially in early minecraft, where something like this would be extra horrifiying.
I think both have their strengths and weaknesses- Herobrine is more interesting if you're a fan of monsters that look human but aren't quite- uncanny valley goodness, while White Eyes is a more typical monster with a more visually interesting design, but it lacks that unnerving feeling of "I'm in single player- who's this?"
the original white eyes concept is interesting, but I dont think it would have prevailed for as long as herobrine did. the white eyes is creepy, but I dont think I could have imagined something like that being in, say, the legacy console versions, unless it was in the form of a cursed copy of the game, like ben drowned
personally have to disagree. while the discovery of white eyes is interesting, and the story with it is pretty good, the design of white eyes is pretty cheesy. herobrine isn't perfect but it's iconic for a reason, it's like the fear of a stranger in your house, an other that shouldn't be there. white eyes is a pitch black spider centaur, which misses that aspect, and is just a simple creature design. nothing wrong with that, but herobrine has a special quality, even if he's not too scary or he's basic.
Maybe you didn't realize it, Edorphine in her first post mentions that the White eyes problem had started after a Secret Friday Update, and if I remember correctly in the wiki in the Herobrine section she had mentioned that it had been added in a Secret Friday Update which tells us that, someone knew about Endorphine's post and confused the legend with Herobrine and this information was published on the Wiki
Before this, I originally thought that Herobrine kinda spontaneously existed to make that infamous 4chan post, but it actually being based on an existing thing from the Minecraft forums makes a lot more sense. It's a shame that white eyes kinda had its fame taken by Herobrine, but there might be a resurgence due to this investigation.
I'd like to congratulate Herobrine on his transition. The trans icon we need.

Wanted to return to this video to point out something interesting - If "White Eyes" was created late July of 2010, and Spider Jockeys were first mentioned early August of 2010 and later added in V1.0.17, do you think that Spider Jockeys as a concept could have been inspired off of her design?

I’ve actually got my own theory about “white eyes”. White eyes is described as female and in the original post it mentions how it stalks endorphine in the caves. Years after the original story in 2012, a minecraft creepypasta called “Casey’s Cave” is written which has some striking similarities between the original white eyes story those being the antagonists have white eyes, are female, live in caves and have herobrine like behaviour.
Funnily enough Casey’s cave has its own mythos around it similarly to Herobrine as like in the case with Herobrine with the brocraft streams, there was a lost RUclips series on RUclips called “Casey’s cave entry” made by a RUclipsr named ECWgaming who helped popularise the original Caseys cave creepypasta, however the series has unfortunately became lost media, much like the original images depicting white eyes or the brocraft streams. I actually made a mini documentary about the Casey’s cave series but it’s since been a dead end. I know you may not see this comment but I was hoping since you’ve covered minecraft lost media in this video, perhaps you could cover the lost Caseys cave series in the next episode as that lost media is unfortunately extremely underrated.

This was four days ago, however as of recent, I believe I have found undeniable proof that the show exists in the most unexpected way. So on YT recently I typed up Casey’s cave in hopes of finding any updates on the hunt, however one thing peaked my interest. It seems when you type in Casey’s cave or Casey’s cave minecraft into the YT search bar, one of the most common side results is “Casey’s cave entry”.
And there it was, the title of the show. Now what does this prove you may ask? Well since RUclips likes to archive certain words and phrases that relate to a video title/genre so if I were to type in minecraft, other results might be, minecraft 100 days or minecraft tutorial. So at one point in RUclips history, the term “Casey’s cave entry” was a popular search result hence why it is one of the recommended search results meaning that the series was decently popular.
Now what now you may ask? I have one request and one request only, spread the word that this show existed. If we can get big lost media youtubers like LoopedsonicQ or BlameitonJorge to cover the search, hopefully that could bolster the amount of people looking for the show and therefore get more results. If you happen to find anything by any chance, message me on Reddit and we can try and think of ways to archive all the episodes.

A few more mysteries I want to point out:
-Why would the wiki straight up lie about something like that? There must’ve been some image attached to the original creepypasta posting, since it at the end it says “I was able to press ‘print screen’ when I first saw him. Here’s the only evidence of his existence:”
-Why would a fan-made version of the image get more recognized than the actual thing, to the point that everyone believes that IT IS the actual thing? I would think that Copeland, who presumably saw the original 4chan post, would mention in the interview that the image being spread around isn’t actually the original image.
Wiki authors are fallible humans. Most of them are simply nerds that are passionate about a subject. They get details like this wrong frequently, simply because they don't know better. It's probably not a lie. They were likely either mislead about the image's actual origins or that is a genuine copy of the original image and was merely saved at a later date.

I am OBSESSED with the concept of white eyes, especially because when I was a kid, I always noticed white dots in the dark and thought it was Herobrine and left a bunch of worlds because of this 😂😂

Unofficial lore theory:
Herobrine is a different form of white eyes. Perhaps white eyes uses the player default skin as a cloak to hide its true form, possibly as a way to scare or put the fear in the victim. However, it hasn't decided to kill you. It only shows its spider like form if it wants to kill you, or wants to scare you even more. Weather it eats you or wants to scare you, im uncertain. Both have similar behaviors, and stalk or manipulate the world. Perhaps the entity is similar to pennywise, where its true form or the closest to it is that of a spider, but takes the form of a humanoid. But unlike pennywise, it does not feed off of killing players, it only feeds off of fear.
Or perhaps... White eyes could simply evolved into herobrine because it came to warn of other entities within the game, however it cannot speak or talk, as a result it just...stares. they could be why it tried becoming herobrine so it could talk but who knows. All I know is I saw white eyes.
There’s something very cool about the origins of herobrine coming from an actual in game glitch in the game
I know right, he doesn't have to be real, but I would prefer a legend being born unintentionally by the development team's mistake than someone hand creating them themselves, I wouldn't be a herobrine fan anymore if that was the case

I remember when I was playing MCPE Alpha 0.2.1, my character's head was on backwards when I went into 3rd person (I didn't understand what this camera view was, at the time I thought it spawned in a "glitch"), the eyes were pure white and I was scared TF out

You know I always wondered who was the person that was told to stand at that position with the white eyed Steve skin in the original Herobrine image and how did they even do that all the way back then? I am sure it was way harder to mess with texture's in the game then it is now because of there being less tool's and stuff you can use to do so although I most likely am completely wrong on that also we might already know who was the player that was told to stand their with the white Eyed Steve skin but I don't know so maybe someone can inform me on one of these topics hopefully I came back to this video so that I could edit this comment quickly this entire thing makes Herobrine honestly kind of scary again I think White Eye's and Herobrine are the same entity that White Eye's creature morphed into what we now know as Herobrine and now with the creature having the body type of a player the game now thinks that it to is a player negating whatever reason it had to hide in dark place's all of the time which is horrible because now it can watch you learn about you and become more like you as it learns more and more from whatever you do as it just stares at you from a distance never moving always still like a tree She will keep watching and learning and one day She will return She already dealt with one of your kind before a Builder all the way back in the Ancient times in the deepest part of the world those Builder's had no clue what they unleashed and now She is able to roam once again a being born from the Abyss a being so Dark and Twisted that it makes the Creature's you see in the Neather look like Kitten's in comparison and She won't stop until we are all gone every single Builder will soon be erased if WE don't stop Her
From what i remember, you can just edit the default player skin. If that version had custom skins, you could just copy the default skin, edit it, and upload that.

I heard herobrine came from a glitched human mob removed from the game, but I am starting tot think thats a lie, notch removed everything to do with human mobs out of the game and titled it *removed Herobrine, but it may be a lie, because it would be a coincidence that out of all glitched mobs and glitched appearances, everything was in orderly fashion, but somehow there is white eyes on it, the only thing off with the appearance
