    So I want to clarify on cheesing the agents by sending the guys from the helipad entrance to the casino -- The cycle will be broken when they ultimately choose to fight your guards. How long it takes for them to get fed up and start a fight depends on the agent, but it will happen so I say you can keep them in the casino for forever but that's not really true.

    • @TwistedMe13
      @TwistedMe13 3 года назад

      Speaking of cheezing the agents late game.. would this be viable... Place micro casino zones at the start of the trap hall (slot machines only) capped by multiple paywalls to slow their infiltration in the hopes of increasing their likelihood of using the slots causing them to waste money and skill in order to increase the probability of being hit by the traps?

    • @TeddyNinja
      @TeddyNinja  3 года назад

      @@TwistedMe13 Interesting, yes that would work. It gets me wondering if it's better to have a set up like that or create a few dead end corridors off of the casino filled with paywalls to slow the agents down.

    • @TwistedMe13
      @TwistedMe13 3 года назад

      @@TeddyNinja Typically higher level agents ignore dead ends and make a beeline for your cover door. That's why I've seen spamming slots work serially but not in parallel.

    @TeddyNinja I don't know if this works in Evil Genius 2, but in Evil Genius 1 you could put a locked high security side door that would basically always draw the attention of all agents. If they would ignore the door, they could just walk into your base, but basically all the time they disable the door and... enter the maze of trap death. If this works, it would save you alot of deaths of your minions, since they have no reason to go in there. I had an endless chain of traps that ended up with a backdoor where minions just scooped up the body bags.
    You might hate doors, but agents love them, they draw alot of their attention.

      Yeah for sure, in my next video I play around a bit with some dead end trap hallways and I want to refine the design more in the future. If I get something that looks cool then there might be a designated video for it. Won't guards still want to "patrol" those hallways if you make them really long?

    In late game, the most activities will be the training room , schemes require so many diff types of minion to deploy.
    My personal training room items -
    Guard minion:
    6 guard
    6 mercenary
    3 martial artist
    3 hitman
    Deception minion:
    6 valet
    3 socialist
    3 spin doctor
    2/3 cover agent
    Science minion:
    3 scientist
    3 technician
    3 biologist
    3 quantum chemist
    As for traps, still very underrated, no matter how good the combo is, the high lvl agent disable traps ability are top notch op.

    The only trap that is ALWAYS consistent is the paywall and then prob the next best is the Venus Fly Trap. I have a traps corridor on the right of my cover operation on Caine Key that gets most of the agents visiting. While I have a whole slew of different traps to both distract them and maybe catch them up when distracted, it is the paywall and the fly trap that does the most damage to them. Set the paywall to $100 and have about 10 of them and even if the agents make it out again, you've made a cool $2000 and usually what is left of their expedition is either killed off or go home defeated.
    If you go for a dead end corridor you also must "always" have a security door at the end as they will want to see what is behind it (for me, it's the broken toilet sign) but if you don't have a door they magically know well before they get to the end and turn around, otherwise they just keep going until they see it themselves.
    I did have a glitch where Atomic Olga got trapped between a paywall, a venus fly trap and the million bees loot where once she got past the paywall, disabled the fly trap, then disabled the bees but then maybe because it was very close to a corner for some reason she would turn around and go back the way she came, then got stuck at the paywall again, pay $100, but then turn to disable the fly trap before it reset but then would turn around again and go back to the bees and rinse and repeat. In a space of a minute of watching her I made $1000 just from her and then got distracted to do something else only to come back and look again after about 10+mins and she was still in the loop. So she probably gave me at least $10k. I released her from her hell with a henchman attack.
    Another funny trap combo is 2 or 3 paywalls, the bee wall and then 3 more paywalls in a row... after paying $300, the bees get triggered and the agents freakout and run willy nilly either back or forwards into the next set of paywalls. Some times that gets into a loop and you make $1000's off that as well.
    Anyway, cheers for the content mate.

    I use more walls than you but I agree having all similar things grouped up is best, i.e. the main security area(s) have the Dinner tables that only muscles can use, their training stations, and in the future I’m gonna put all their stat boosting stuff in too. Same for the research lab and the science minions etc.

  • @the_kauko
    @the_kauko 3 года назад +3

    I try to make heavy use of the late game decorations that give different kinds of boosts to stats. Could you make a video about the different kinds of boosts, i.e. what is the difference between "increased restore" and "smarts+" on the infirmary decorations (ofc I have some idea, but proper research into this could be nice)? Also, some rooms don't have a decoration for each stat, so I sometimes build an infirmary in the middle of a room just for the decorations. Could you also do a video about if this actually works, as sometimes the items in range of the decoration are highlighted, and sometimes they're not?

  • @KiallVunMyeret

    I don't understand how people say traps are weak in this game. In my hard playthrough at the end my muscle minions didn't do anything except go to world schemes. Even level 9 agents fall like flies if you set up your traps smart. Not to mention that if you control your heat a little you normally don't even get level 9's.
    Most agents lost all their resolve after getting hit by my first trap.
    Traps are absolutelly busted in this game

    I found a bit weird path finding on muscles minions, especially when they are learn on thier muscle tree
    Basically like this:
    Turn to guard they go far to the armory get gun and go back to training room to learn became mercenary, the next they become merc they go back to armory get a rifle and then go back to training room to learn be a martial arts, AND then they literally go back to Armory and get the long staff...
    Idk why this is a thing it burn alot time
    Also apologize if my grammar are bad

    • @TeddyNinja
      @TeddyNinja  3 года назад

      Interesting, yeah I find it useful to place weapons close to the training area, along with the service items they need so guys who complete training don't have to go to another part of the base to top off their stats.

      @@TeddyNinja also other tips, the only thing you can make a private room is the security camera and muscles training room, that because there a chance they literally leave the chair and fight the agent instead focusing the camera

    Incredible!!! Just what was hoping for... I do, however, add my own 2cents.. how difficult would it be to spread out the control room layout, so that you have infirmary tiles as "walkways" and throw down those stat-improving items in between the radio repeaters? That way, any minion sitting there would be in range of those items... Just a thought.

    Hi Teddy! I have loved the game so far but I seem to be hitting a wall with hard mode where at a certain part of the mid-late game the onslaught of soldier waves keeps killing my base. I can keep up money to just re-buy a bunch of workers but this doesn't seem optimal. It seems impossible to defeat soldiers in the late game due to them just gunning down minions moving to fight with them before the minion can get a hit on them. Also the traps don't seem to be very effective at all. What do? Maybe this game just isn't optimized yet for the hard mode in the game, but maybe I'm just bad lol

    • @TeddyNinja

      A few things you can try:
      1. To stabilize right now use your genius and henchmen as much as possible in combat to not loose as many guards.
      2. Start running a lot of the heat reducing schemes on the world stage. This will give you more time between waves. (I try to start two schemes in the zone that just sent a wave of agents because they will have the highest heat)
      3. Expand your training facilities and make sure all your guards have good weapons.
      4. Start setting up trap combos to soften the soldiers up, just expand a bit at a time with what's in your budget but you need to have combos where multiple traps are in range of the same space to catch out high level agents.
      5. Recruit up to your limit on henchmen.
      I'm sure you're already doing some of these things I'm just listing all of them because I don't know the specifics of your base.
      Consider using non-lethal measures. Killing agents is what spawns soldiers, so the more investigators you don't turn into body bags the better. Maybe route the path of the helipad through the casino if your traps aren't doing enough for you. You can also just try and do nothing to the investigators at all, in that case you will have to deal with rogues and saboteurs instead of some of the soldier waves. That could be what you need for your security forces to recover. Good luck out there

    Hey how do i stop agents starting a fight? Mine seem to think violent is the best solution. Serously when every someone trys to take them back to the cover operation they start throwing hands nearly 100% of the time regardless of skill, resolve or heat.

    • @TeddyNinja
      @TeddyNinja  3 года назад

      It's unclear what causes an agent to want to fight rather than accept going back to the casino. My guess is it's if they believe they can win the fight based on the number of security forces in their line of sight.
