She deserves a shout-out for the energy required for the last-minute of that program. Great choreography and great job of timing the jumps to the music.

Susan should never have been sent to the Olympics. I was at the nationals in Edmonton in 1994 and Karen beat Susan. But the judges gave it to Susan thinking she was the next generation of Canadian skater. She never skated well and embarrassed herself and let Skate Canada down many times. She was such a horrible mess that Christy Ness dropped her as a pupil because she was so embarrassed by Susan’s skating.

Many felt they should have sent Karen Preston who barely lost to Susan at Nationals - the heartbreak and then to not make the fs at the olympics.

I find it hard to believe she didn't know the rules of skating and thought she'd get to skate a LP after a shitty SP at the Olympics. Maybe she never finished that low in the SP in a Canadian competition, lol. Anyway, nice skate here.

In fairness to her if all the lowest ranked skaters did not all have clean SPs at the Olympics she still would have gotten into the LP. It was just bad luck for her the worst skaters like the 2 Chinese, Bulgarian, Andrade, and a few others all were clean. There were a lot of mistakes but there were all by the mid pack to strong skaters, and each had no more than 1 big mistake, unlike Susan who had 2.
