- Hello RUclips Friends! Welcome to The Painted South! In today's video, I have an awesome shopping haul to share with you. I visited several thrift stores, an antique mall, antique store and also scored again on Facebook Marketplace. Talk about some great deals!!! I hope you like all the items I found and it inspires you to go treasure hunting for your own home. Thrifting is one of my favorite things to do, especially when you find so many great pieces!
All of these items will be used in upcoming videos to decorate my home. Some of them will need makeovers, so I will be sharing those projects as well.
I hope you all have a wonderful day. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel by leaving comments, giving me a "Like", sharing my videos with your friends and subscribing to make sure you don't miss any future videos! You are the BEST!
Take care and I will see you in the next one!
Xoxoxo,
Deborah
Ohhhhhh my gosh Deborah what incredible finds. Love the old guy. I have framed portraits of adopted family from early 1900s people think I'm weird for putting up people I don't know but someone needs to love them.
I understand, I have my husbands GG-Grandparents hanging on my wall. They are creepy but weren't they all ?
I do the same.
Thank you Gale! I know! It's kinda sad they end up forgotten and tucked away. He found a home here, though. Xoxoxo
Those little copper pots would look cute on a wreath for the kitchen.
51 yrs ago those silver trays and serving pieces were the in thing for wedding gifts. We got many. All of which have been packed away in totes since we downsized 28 yrs ago. My wife has been gone several yrs now. I suppose I should unpack them and sell them. My kids sure don't want them. If you were closer, I would give them to you. Love watching your videos. You stay safe and healthy, too.
She was giving away her precious finds . Lucky you
Looks like the lidded/ handled pan goes on the fondue stand. I have one very similar. They are great when the power goes out. Add sterno, and you can boil water, warm soup, toast bread, etc. I have several.
I used to have old frames. With a man and a woman paintings. as I got older I just didn't want dead people pictures not a happy picture of joy. I want to look at what makes me feel happy!!
for the pot rack I thought originally it was supposed to sit like that, you could put a little bed in it for your pets! take the hooks off, very cute
The lil copper miniatures my grandma use to hang on her Christmas tree. The bird on a branch does come with one facing it. I have those over the door of my screened in porch ( painted them white). Love the swan sleigh. Beautiful. Stunning tissue box.
LOVE that pot rack! My initial thought was to set a plant in it. As you said, many options.
The gold and wood frames are lovely. I would definitely hang on to that portrait of the man. It's easy to put something else in the frame but I would keep his portrait behind whatever I put in the frame. He's just too cool to let go altogether. I love the frame with the food print, too. It reminds me of Thanksgiving.
WOW! You scored on the silver pieces! I am so inspired. I never considered using pieces like that in decor displays. The long footed silver tray is my favorite.
You are the first person I've heard mention Syroco. I have a small Disney figurine, Figaro the cat from Pinocchio, made of Syroco. It is from the 40s and belonged to my mom.
I need to hit up your thrift stores! Ours never have prices like yours.
The three tier table was a STEAL, for real!
Thanks for sharing your pretties and for all the inspiration.
👋Happy Birthday..Deborah.....and great haul...you always find some great stuff....
The candlesticks have the same style as the picture frames which are very nice. What a stroke of luck, bonus time! Good video. Take care.
Oh my. I have those birds i the set. Thrifted of course. I have lots of these plastic items in plaques etc. The look amazing painted in off white. Just before they dry I rub some of the finish off so the gold shows. It's amazing how beautiful they look.
Love the frames. I have several old ones and took out the photos. I use them empty and put on my fireplace mantel. These old frames are heavy!! I just cleaned them up and put wood refinished on them!!!! I put things in front of them and one I inserted a wreath in one on my dining room buffet.
Hi Deborah, what a fantastic Haul. Beautiful picture frames. Love that pot rack great fine. TFS have bless one 🙏🥰👍❤
I love those miniature copper pieces, platters with feet in particular! You certainly found many treasures on the cheap, can’t wait to see how you transform them into something even more spectacular! 😸
Deborah that pot rack is to die for! I agree with how you want to use it as hanging in the kitchen seems to be out of style. Way to pretty for pots. Hahaha. Love your ideas!!!!
Amazing pieces you find I love the vintage pictures. The Silver pieces look excellent condition. I love the First piece You can put inside One candles or one beautiful nest. The mini Cooper pieces look for doll house. Simple I love all things you find 😊💜
Hi Lupita! I love vintage pieces, too! I'm glad you enjoyed the Haul. Those are great ideas! The little copper pieces were so adorable, I couldn't resist for $1 each. 😬 I hope you have a blessed week ahead! Xoxoxo, Deborah
Thank you so much my sweet friend l hoppe you have wonderful week 😊😘
Happy Birthday Deb !! You always find the most amazing things !!!
Forgot to mention that those type of metal tissue box covers were very popular back in the sixties/seventies. They also made round ones for that spare roll of toilet paper and ones that held several lipsticks. I find it interesting that what one generation gets rid of another generation down just loves it! That is great for our environment, since some of those items won’t end up in the landfill! 😊
I can't wait to see you paint it's so relaxing especially the layering the patina is so cool . As for the creepy guy on the photo he had beautiful eye color something like sea glass .. Anyway great haul
Thank you! I will have more painting videos coming up soon, I hope! I agree, he had quite the soul piercing stare. I wonder what his life was like and where he lived? It would be nice to know the history behind the piece. Glad you enjoyed the Haul! I definitely enjoyed the shopping part, too! 😉 Have a wonderful rest of the week! Xoxoxo
Hi Deborah what fantastic finds and great deals. Love that pot stand could imagine a beautiful display in there. The wall art was nice, lovely frames but l would take that strange guy out of it. I love swans as well, that one on a sleigh was very cute. Can't wait to see what you do with it all. Thanks so much for sharing xxxx
The painted south great video great haul the pan rack I love it I would leave it as is and make it in to a lamp. The picture they are pretty as it. I love everything you picked out
Love the tissue box. Wow, what great prices!!!
The pot hanger will be great as a centerpiece! I don't polish the silver things I find either. The swan will be perfect for Christmas decorating!
Hi it's a steal of deal haul amazing finds at such cheap prizes.
What I lived the most was the pot rack and the tiny copper kitchen set.

My great-grandmother had a tissue box like that. So sweet.
What great deals you found!! Love it all!!
I have the small copper cookware and at Christmas I hang them as ornaments on a 24” tall Christmas tree I have on the kitchen counter.
Happy Birthday beautiful lady, thanks for sharing your day.

Those are great the one you said that you normally see without the top or handle is because they are for the table while the one you have was used normally to heat the beds, they would put burning wood cover and then placed inside the blankets before you get to bed you can see in tame movies
Wow, what a haul! I like the piece you thought was made India. That would absolutely look good in the kitchen. I will definitely plan a trip in your neck of the woods to poke around. Have fun with all your finds and happy birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉
WOW - what awesome prices! I don't ever find deals like that in Tennessee. Can't wait to see what you do with the repurposed silver! Happy Belated Birthday!
I use my swans for Christmas with the 12 days of Christmas theme in mind or a take on a whimsical enchanted Christmas theme. My parents had tissue boxes like the gold one you found. I have them now . Also Lenox or was it Fitz and Floyd did a swan sleigh piece at one time.TYFS stay safe and healthy everyone ❤️
Wow! You grabbed some really nice items. The Kleenex box I think is from around the 1970’s or so. I say that cause my mom had one. She got it for her bedroom right after we moved into a our new house in 1974! Really nice stuff! In fact several items look like they could have come out of my moms or grandmas house... ✌️😃👏
I appreciate you sharing your home with us and I also love everything that you bought and those prices are out of this world I'm glad you was able to get a great deal :-).
Hi Deborah, o my gosh, you really scored big! My favorites are the pot rack and swan sleigh (very unique) Can't wait to see how you decorate both of theYou are very fortunate to have such nice stores available to you. I live in RI and there is hardly anywhere to find treasures. Looking forward to your next video to see how you work your magic with everything! Blessings to all
Some great finds! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😃
I have that exact pot rack. I bought it at a French import store. I paid $225.00 about 14 years ago. So you got a great deal!
Great finds! Cant wait to see how you transform everything!
I love all this stuff!!!
Hi Deborah you always find the coolest things can't wait to see how you use them.
Love seeing all the antiques you get & transform.....AND Happy Belated Birthday!
The metal tissue holder would look pretty with flower picks in it!
The pot rack would be perfect hanging above a kitchen sink/ in front of a window for cascading plants, etc.
Absolutely! Love that idea! ❤ Xoxoxo
Happy Birthday Deborah! Looks like you had a great day with all the beautiful items you scored. And you’re right, “you can’t beat the price.” Lol!! I can’t wait to see what you do with them. Keep celebrating your birthday. We love you!
The pot rack would be a nice place for a manger scene at Christmas or to store mix match cups and saucers for tea or tea towels.
I have been buying old silver . You got a steal on those silver pieces. I cannot wait to see how you use these to decorate with
I love this haul! Everything’s amazing! Now I’m pumped about the upcoming DIY’s!
My faves may be the decorative finial & trinket box .
I looked you up because twice Bev, from The Little Blue Fly mentioned you. Both for your use of colors when you painted. Today she used some bird eggs where she used your painting technique and they were breath taking. Then I noticed above your page title it read South Carolina. My son and his son lives in Easley. Very small world. Lyn
Cannot wait to see what you do with all of these things! Those little copper pieces might just end up in one of my Christmas trees, if they were mine. So love your videos.
I'm a retired a antique frame restorer, the frames are in good condition, just much needed cleaning . Use a toothbrush and a clean cloth, start by doing 4" at a time, clean with a small amount of denatured alcohol on the toothbrush to the comp. wipe off the dirty area repeat if needed. Don't let it sit to long on the comp. as it can soften it , it can fall off the wood which I'm sure you've seen at antique shops. No cleaners or water
Great haul!!! Wowza. I have a frame almost identical to the one with the old gentleman..... he’s someone’s great great grandfather, you know. Mine has my dad’s grandfather in it! That’s how they did portraits 150 years ago. Love it!!!! You have some great places to shop!!!! And you are so right.....in an antique shop, those frames (and the tarnished silver pieces) would be very expensive!!!
Hi Deborah. What a great haul and I LOVE that pot rack! Using it as tabletop decor will be just fabulous! :) :) :)
I love everything you thrifted, especially the silver items. My mother used to call people like you and me “old souls.” We like things that have lived a long time. 😉💫
It's true, my soul is very old. I liked victorian things as a child.
if you have a Christmas Village, I've seen them display them with cotton as snow on a three-tiered table like yours. I love everything you bought, I can't wait to see what you do with it all.
Hi JoAnn! I have a few pieces of a Christmas village and had that same thought! I am excited to use all the pieces I found, too. 😬 I should have decor videos up soon. 🧡 Xoxoxo, Deborah
I thought the gentleman in the portrait looked distinguish. He must have been wealthy with his fancy suit and the picture frame was beautiful! It seems like silver plated ideams are making a comeback, I have several pieces you can do so many things with them.
He does look distinguished, doesn't he? Yet, in a haunting way. Lol. I definitely love the frame! And the silver plated items are so lovely, I can't believe how inexpensive they are in thrift stores! I have seen the same pieces I have in Antique stores and online for a lot more $. They look so pretty in displays. I'm not fancy enough to serve dinner with them, though. 😂 Best wishes to you for a wonderful rest of your week! Xoxoxo
Can’t wait to see you create new pieces.
Love that little Black frame!
Wow, what a haul. Beautiful items!

WOW! I just found your videos and I love them. I would totally leave Mr. Handsome Creepy he is perfect. Also i can't wait to see what you did with the copper toy pots and pans. I can see them as ornaments on a Kitchen Christmas tree.
A lot of Antiques and Retro are soooo Pretty and we'll made... Happy B-day I just so your Channel😍❤🎂
You always find the best stuff! The picture of the man in the frame looks like Alfalfa, if you ever heard of Spanky and Our Gang. Before your time!
Awesome finds 😃👍🏻I cant wait to see how you use all your great finds😃🤗
Texas Lady🌹
Happy belated birthday Deborah!! Great haul. Love all your decor ideas!!!
Great haul. I have a tissue box like yours that my husband bought for my antique vanity and the lipstick holder, hair spray holder and I can't remember but there is another piece. We moved and they have been packed away for years. I really need to find them and use them. Thanks for reminding me. Love your channel.
The little copper pots would look great if you make the table into a tiered tray.
Baby blue eyes photograph this way--his eyes were probably gorgeous. Also, the process of taking these photos back in the 1800's was very lengthy and people became very tired by the time the actual picture was taken. Hopefully you will keep him framed---the frames were gorgeous so hope you leave them the way they are. Loved your silver & wish I could polish all of it for you as I love the beauty of the polished silver..lucky you , what bargains!! If you look at old paintings from the 1800's you will see winter sleigh scenes with the swan used as the sleigh....very Victorian. There was not one thing you bought that I wouldn't love to own--you are one lucky lady to find so many beautiful treasures. TFS
GREAT MAKEUP!!! I have a burnt orange velvet chair you would love, to go with that couch!
I love love the mini copper items. I would do a small Christmas tree for my kitchen or diningroom. I really like the finials also. I cant wait to see how you decorate with everything.
I love those prints (not the creepy guy ) the other ones are really pretty love that Victorian style I collect Victorian style ❤️❤️❤️ nice score ..!
I love your haul. Crazy about those trays and candle sticks
Thank you Linda! I was so excited about all those finds! I'm glad you enjoyed the haul. If I could shop every day I would. Lol. Have a fabulous week! Xoxoxo
Happy Birthday Debra mine was the 1st of October I love this time of year the best time to have been born in October
Happy Birthday and many more. Loved all your great finds. I think Max or other kitty would love the pot rack made into an awesome bed for them with a really cozy comforter inside, lol. I could see the swan decorated for Christmas. Look forward to your make overs.
The third frame you showed , I love it too & I would leave the print in it ;)
Hi Deborah! I like the frame with Victorian ladies. My mother had a similar print so I have always liked them. I looked up online about yours and it says it is a Leroy Imp Paris Fashion print of 2 Victorian ladies. The print was on ebay and elsewhere. You sure did get some great buys!!! Happy decorating!!
Oh Pot Rack my favorite if I have to pick.😊👍
Oh my goodness! My niece went to college in Anderson South Carolina. So exciting. I’m going to ask her if she knows where a place is to look for super cute things. Thank you.
My goodness you hit the treasure pot for sure! So many wonderful finds! You walked away with deals deals deals!😍 I love your pot rack! I'm sorry the deal fell through for you guys move, but maybe it's for the best. I just hate you did all the prep work for the move though. You have a lovely home and you have such a creative mind you can transform any space to a wow factor. I can't wait to see what all you do to your home and your finds. Lots of love friend. I am so glad to seen you again. I missed ya..
I love the peach tart print! Can’t you just smell peaches? And that milk bottle.
$1.00 EACH!!
Lord help me why can’t I have such days. All those pieces are lovely. And the Copper! Can’t wait to see what you do with everything. Thanks for a fun video.
I want it all-great finds
Your spooky man picture could be a glass plate photo. I found one once for the frame but the pencil notes on the back of the glass plate led me to meet the great nephew of the image (a long and searching tale) and he was compiling his family history. The glass plate photo now gifted to the relative and the awesome frame gifted to a friend. In the 19th C photos of this size were for the wealthy only so there will be a story here. Happy hunting.
Just saw your video, and wishing you a belated Happy Birthday. Sounds like you had a great day shopping. I love your videos and have been watching them since last year. Can't wait till christmas . I already have been doing Christmas decor shopping. I can't wait
Oh, my goodness, Deborah! So many exquisite treasures you found!!! I love every single piece!
The very first item reminds me of a crown, so immediately thought of featuring the Nativity inside for celebrating Christ's birth ~ it's beautiful! During other seasons, it seems anything placed inside would be accented beautifully from an Easter basket display to gorgeous autumn flowers. . . so many possibilities!
I've loved silver my entire life, enjoy polishing & using it ~ love the gleaming sparkle it lends in candlelight! Always exquisitely beautiful:)!! I'm trying not to envy you for all the gorgeous trays you've purchased at such phenomenally low prices! Love using silver trays for everything:)!!!
Your new sofa looks perfect for your room. Can't wait to see everything you've changed up ~ I know it will be decorated in stunning fashion for the upcoming holidays:).
TFS all your goodies with us! Now I'm living vicariously through you, Sweetie pie, hoping I stumble upon some treasures, too:)!!
Sweet to spend time with you again and Happy Birthday! Trusting your new year is blessed from above!
Many hugs ~Susan
