The latest update does not have initial plays & replays, the metrics now are - Views, Follow VS Non-follow vies, accounts reached, watch time, avg watch time, profile activity.

The shares per reach algorithm edit is a terrible idea. Personally I love art/design videos but never share them. I share funny, wacky, shocking, clips with people close to me. it may be why my feed isn't as good as it used to be. That said if you make art/design content this change sandbags your progress. I've definitely noticed a major stall in growth. I'm in a narrow niche with lowish growth expectations, but still want to reach people that may be into what I do.

So I think, there must be a reason why they keep it, otherwise it is just a clutter slowing the process down. What is your take on it?

My content is simply my parkour movement. Jumps, flips, connections. My main target audience is other practitioners. My reach of non-followers is 80-90% yet each reel is different in views and i haven’t gained a follower in 5+ weeks but have gone down 10+ in followers. My account interactions is just under 50%. Maybe my hook is the difference but it’s just me training/ doing jumps and flips so im not sure how to get a better hook.

I got two viral videos (1M+) and a bunch of 10K+ videos in the span of a week, and went from 2K to 3K followers. The next 15 reels I made after that have all been less than 10K. Is it possible my older reels are “stealing” views from my newer ones?
They’re not. It all depends on your audience. I create content about books and my carousels get more traction than reels because it’s content my ideal audience wants to save and keep and share.

Yes they do. i have been losing at least a follower a day for almost 2 weeks now + tags dont work for me and havent for over a year... i am a digital artist and i believe i post really good content but just 990 followers... when i used to post tags i always got a lot of likes right off the bat.... i believe i am shadow banned and have been for a long time, i am about to give up it sucks.. it's not worth spending days working on a digital art piece to then post that nobody sees...

Ok, riddle me this: example video that got 423k views, 58% non followers, but only 70 new followers where pre update that would add 400-500 followers
