Yes i think this one is way too premature STG i get his hype but look at his situation going to a contender with a bunch of guards already ahead of him then to add to that he came in injured and remained injured for most of his 2 years so far now with a bigger role and fully healthy he can be ready to produce Sidenote: Can we stop using HS rankings in videos to enforce our points everytime i hear "he was ranked above so and so in HS" kind of frustrating when we all know HS rankings suck and AAU /HS ball is just glorified hero ball for the best player in the city usually it is not a good measure for long term success
This is dumb. They say the same thing when a player gets drafted to a rebuilding and dysfunctional team. Fact is, a winning team has better coaching, teachings and better players to learn from. If you can't take advantage of that, you won't do better on a bad team.
BIG Amen to that, but when you watch today's Game teams really dont focus or emphasize much of Defense anymore. And the Kids see that and accept what they are currently witnessing
Injuries definitely hurt him especially that wrist injury which can definitely affect your shooting a whole lot but he’s still young and has a lot of potential I think his handle will improve and his overall game will improve he has great teammates around him I think he’ll be fine just needs to keep hanging in there and keep working ☘️
Calm down with this video. He's only 21 and was injured for the last 2 season. This is the first time he will have a training camp in his career and he looks good and will just continue to look better. I dont think Celtics stunted his growth. If anything, they expanded it. He wasnt known as a lock defender in college but now hes pretty solid. And hes learning how to play off ball. Once he get back his handle, its only upward for his career.
He was so trash in the celtic ... I stopped watching them them first 2 games, they gave him and Grant williams so much minutes .. romeo can't create a shot or a play . Can't shoot a lick or catch and shoot. Cannot defends guard pf or, couldn't help us keep a lead or get one.. It was bad , hangs out at the 3 point line like he can shoot but leave defenders in the driving lane... terrible iq. Thank God we got Derrick white
If he was drafted by a rebuilding team it would have been a different story, also he got hurt for 2 consecutive seasons. When he gets to the floor, he plays the 3 spot and asked to catch and shoot which is far from his game in HS, he looked great yesterday, I think the celtics will keep him this year as insurance to jaylen or if jaylen will have scheduled rest. I still have hopes for him, slow paced game reminds me of joe johnson whom the celticd traded in his rookie reason, hope romeo will shine with the Cs.
That's like saying, this tree I planted in mud was only done a few days ago. Give it time... No matter what happens , the foundation isn't right. His game style at 6'4 instead of the high school 6'6 cheat code, doesn't strike me as a guy that lives up to the hype. His demeanor, confidence and killer instinct isn't there enough. You can't workout and get those. Not saying he won't have a long career. 10ppg kinda guy. But in high school they said he was a once in a generation talent... what! If he does turn out to be one I'd be first to fall on that sword. But I don't think he will respectfully.
@@stuntedgrowth I don't think he's a once in a generation talent, but he's gonna be more than a 10ppg player. If he can stay healthy, which he hasn't been for the last 2 seasons, he's gonna be a good contributor. I do wish he was more aggressive, but his calmness has helped at the end of games at the same time. He's got confidence cause he's taken these winding down shots and has sunk them. He's driven in fine in games and has dunken on players lol he's just passive. This is basically his first year not dealing with chronic injury, so we'll see.
I feel like his growth just started he’s been injury prone ever since he was in high school even at his best level at the time. But now with a chance to prove himself he actually has that chance more than ever now he’s only getting started
most of these guys get the hype and rankings based off scoring. they move to the next level and people end up doing it more efficiently and easier....so You're left with a graveyard full of has beens that have one skill and aren't that good at it relative to NBA talent
finally someone who understands. mfs be over hyping up these college dudes and most of the time they don't even live up to expectations and that hyped up player usually is out of the league within 5 years.
Dude was souless when he went to Indiana, very low spoken. He never blew me away and his game was never great. Very overhyped and got this far due to choosing weak competition and social media. Anyone can look great playing people weaker or less skilled.
lets be real.. the day he DECLARED FOR IU his career was in shambles 🤔😂 he "decided to stay home" over goin to UofL, yet New Albany is literally a 2min bridge ride from Louisville, where Bloomington is a HR+.. and UofL has been knee deep in NCAA allegations ever since ctfuu Hence why he should went to UK ijs lol
i heard morons were like picking his grass and camping outside his house lol...indiana people need to relax over high school basketball lol...u rarely put out stars
So how about a video on Corey maggette? The dude had everything to become a success in the league. Went to a great college and had the skills to be a borderline hof player.
He’s definitely not undersized!! He has long arms and is about 6’6 in shoes. He’s big enough!! He just not an effective player. He’s nothing like Tracy mcgrady more like bracy wright who played at Indiana 20 yrs earlier. Very smooth player just not effective doesn’t have one skill that stands out in the NBA
At least he made the Fultz trade slighly less embarrassing for the Sixers. Cause imagine if he was good and it was Tatum + another good player for Fultz
I don't see him making it long-term in the league. Now on the rebuilding Spurs, where he's getting 20 minutes a game, he averages a single assist, shoots 28 percent from deep, and 68 percent from the line. He's a decent slasher, but there are too many holes in his game to carve out a productive role on a better team.
Excellent video, sir! I really like what I've seen from Romeo so far this preseason. A game winner, followed up by a nearly perfect shooting night scoring 13 pts in 19 mins. People forget, this was his first healthy offseason since being drafted. Hopefully, he can keey it up!

I am a diehard Celtics fan. This man has frustrated me more than anybody else. You can see 100% that he has great skills but his lackadaisical approach to the game drives me nuts. Langfords game was very smooth in HS. The problem with a lot of these kids is, if they are not scoring they aren't really able to contribute to the game.
