I never served on a ship thankfully. I’ve always wondered what marines that were on a ship did lol. I was an aircraft mechanic on the f18 and I heard stories but other then the mechanics I was curious if they just “existed” until needed
terriblelottery yes they are doing away with the blue camo uniform October of 2019 which the entire navy should all be wearing the type III (green camo). So I’m just wearing this uniform until the last day to switch over.
Cassandra Rose you can bring them but there is no cell phone service or WiFi out at sea. Only when you get close enough to land your cell phone will work.
A B yeah because everyone on the ship is firefighter qualified because if a fire was to happen we would need the equipment in reach at any part of the ship.
Being deployed as a IT is probably one of the best jobs to be deployed as. Most sit at a computer in a cool space when the rest of the ship is burning up. You get unlimited internet access when the rest of the ship I limited.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 well just life on deployment overall, I just wanted know if my rate will make a difference with my quality of life on deployment, not saying I want things easy but just curious and wow its kinda comforting to know that I chose a good rate in the Navy, still don't have a ship date yet though, but my recruiter said the Navy needs ITs, so more than likely I can ship this year, until then I will keep up with your channel to learn anything I can about Navy life
Toya G I think it will be tough because your food choices are already limited and a lot of time the ship runs out of lettuce, fruits and fresh vegetables. It’s possible but you will be hungry most of the time.
This is awesome
Big Beezy thank you bro!!
How can you not get lost lol.
That’s the best way to learn the ship just get lost and try to find your way to your berthing or work space.

Marines don’t do much on a ship but go the the gym eat and sleep unless they have a job ground the ship that helps the sailors.
Interesting video
Dillmen101 thank you for watching 🙏🏾
What destroyer are you on?
I was actually oN a LPD ship. Picture in the thumbnail was a picture of a supply ship the pulled up next to us. Are you or were you in the navy?
❤️❤️❤️
Shannel Harris love you 😍 I
would it be a little bit noisy for you to sleep on the ship?
Natsu Iwahara sometimes but you get use to it. It’s not as bad as you would think.
For some reason I thought the navy didn’t wear that blue camo anymore. But I saw a guy wearing it just now in your video

This video is also from 2017.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 That's too bad. I like the blue camo.
Samuel Jackson yeah me too that one of the reason why I joined.
@Cody Hall they really are that one of the reasons I joined the navy!!
How are you able to keep a beard in the military??
I have 2 questions do navy transport goods from one nation to other
Second one is how do u counter fire when someone attacks
no not really and they have counter defense missiles.
Is cell phones allowed to be used on deployment
Cassandra Rose you can bring them but there is no cell phone service or WiFi out at sea. Only when you get close enough to land your cell phone will work.
Navy needs to buy a can opener that works.....nice video
StinkyTeal for real..lol
Please forgive my ignorance, idk much about the Military...But why are there Marines on a navy ship?
Because some ships in the navy transport marines to their destination to carry out their mission.
The Official Dave Harris thank you for clarifying and responding so quick.
Cordney Q Murphy your welcome.
Wait do marines get stationed on your ship aswell?
No stationed but marines do go on deployment with us. Some ship have marines on their deployments like LPD and LHD type ships.
I remember it well. Great times!! Your gonna miss that shit. Trust me!! How long you do? Shipmate. BMSN G.
what do you do know that your out?
Fire equipment everwhere lol
A B yeah because everyone on the ship is firefighter qualified because if a fire was to happen we would need the equipment in reach at any part of the ship.
@Fishing and Freedom Fiend yes you might be apart of a fire team.
Do you know what life is like for people coming in as an IT while deployed?
Being deployed as a IT is probably one of the best jobs to be deployed as. Most sit at a computer in a cool space when the rest of the ship is burning up. You get unlimited internet access when the rest of the ship I limited.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 wow that sounds too good to be true, I was expecting life would be a bit more harsh
Remmark Sunga you won’t be disappointed as a IT on deployment
How come you expect life to be harsh as a IT?
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 well

How hard or easy is it to be Vegan in the Navy?
Toya G I think it will be tough because your food choices are already limited and a lot of time the ship runs out of lettuce, fruits and fresh vegetables. It’s possible but you will be hungry most of the time.
Vegan should stay home can not be picky, it is a solider life.
