DRAG RACE: McLaren 675LT vs AMG GT R vs Aston Martin GT8

- It's time to put the Shmeemobiles head to head in a drag race! To celebrate Carwow joining the 1 million subscriber club, I joined them at the runway for some races which included a chance to put three of mine up against one another: the McLaren 675LT Spider, Mercedes-AMG GT R and Aston Martin Vantage GT8! So, let's go, which will win?
To pilot the cars I am joined by BenzeneBen and Joe Achilles, where we have an open stretch of approximately 1/4 mile to put the three cars alongside one another for the race you've all been asking for. Perhaps the results are reasonably predictable but then it's certainly interesting in the way they go about it. All three cars are powered by V8 engines but with a number of variations between their setups in terms of position, gearbox and roofs.

It's the drag race you've been waiting for! Putting my McLaren 675LT, AMG GT R and Aston Martin GT8 head to head on the runway to see how they stack up. I joined carwow to film some races to celebrate their channel reaching 1 million subscribers and this had to be done, so: LET'S RACE!

How about next time adding a regular car say a 1.8 golf just for comparability or your focus RS. Not alot of us experience 500,600,700 bhp cars so would give us some idea of how quick they are compared to a normal car

You should leave the AMG GTR Yellow. It highlights all the beautiful lines and contours. When it was black all that disappeared and it doesn’t look anything special.

I have never seen somebody so well educated about all types of cars. He certainly knows his own vehicles through and through but his vast knowledge of everything automotive is remarkable. Cheers Tim!

I knew the GT8 was going to lose, but the sound of that N/A V8 its on another level. In the future, we will miss, (well I do, I don't know about other people) the N/A V8 sounds, how incredible they are... Excellent video as always!!

Not really a competition, the grand tour has a crazy budget, Shmee is doing way better with a much smaller budget. No shade to the grand tour I love it, shmees content is just more real.

Honestly I knew the 675 lt would win this its almost more hyper car then supercar.But I cant lie that amg gtr didnt do so bad at all.As for the aston it does sound amazing and has a stunning interior.Just wish they gave it a few more ponies..Awsome video shmee!

Would have been fun to see what had happened, if the 675LT's roof had been up..like it should be to not create drag. But: I'm REALLY impressed by the LT here. I would have expected it to win, but not by that much, and certainly not with the roof down. Such an amazing car.
The Aston Martin has least power and bad traction, the AMG has high power and medium traction, the McLaren has high power and good traction, so the result was very clear upfront ...
Would have liked to see a brake test between these 3

I dont understand how the GT R got destroyed when it has the same HP as the McLaren. Probably has more torque too. At higher speeds the heavier weight and better tires don't matter.
