Hello from the Basque Country! Thank you for your channel. I'm glad you're still making videos and using this bike five years later. I'm thinking on buying a (I think) 2015 Krampus OPS. The seller doesn't know much about the bike so I searching for answers myself I found this video. I was wondering what the difference is between the Krampus and the Krampus OPS. I don't know what OPS stand for. I googled it but I'm no luck. After having looked old Surly catalogues my guess is the OPS ones don't have ED coating and therefore are100 bucks cheaper? I was also wondering how many millimeters of space there is between the rear tire and the chainstay for mud clearance and whether I should put a 29x2.6 tire on the rear for the muddy terrain here if I finally buy the bike.
Does the Krampus come from the factory set up as tubeless, or do you have to convert? Also, do you tend to "spin out" during fast downhills running that 32T chainring?
well, Surly and the rest of the Americans pronounce it Cramp-Us, but thanks for scouring the interwebs to root out injustices word Nazi! Perhaps you could move to Germany, and be right?!
try running tubeless on ALL your bikes - big difference in weight, traction and rolling resistance.

I heard fat bikes float from a guy who comments on my videos...is this true? :)
So you find the 26 fat bikes to be more suitable than 29+ for trails where a full suspension bike would be best?
+Dustin N Yes indeed...
Krampus is a German word pronounced pronounced kROMpus not kRAMpus. Germans don’t pronounce A’s in a nasal fashion the way Americans do
This dude sounds Canadian
