Never been to Japan but every time I watch a Japanese video on YT, be it about a artisan baker, a streetfood shop dude, some guys who makes handmade shoes, or knives, fries steaks, handmade charcoal for drawing etc etc etc, I can’t focus on anything else before it’s finished.
Nice to see a pro mechanic chase the Head Tube and BB so that everything is correct. I paid a bike shop to install a new Rockshox Pike fork and they cut it at an angle, off by 0.5mm. Luckily a friend that owns a machine shop fixed it for me. Beautiful work by this person!
meanwhile, at 2:55 he hammered the crown race on with the dropouts on the ground which is a highly dangerous practice and ALL fork manufacturers strictly warn not to do it because it breaks the dropouts. And then he does it again at 4:23.
@@MrDrmorbid from my limited knowledge of bike builds it looked clean....maybe you should go over there and give him a lesson if you feel so strongly about it. Raging like a keyboard muppet will surely get your message across big dog.
@@sonofagreatsouthernland Yep, your knowledge is limited which is why you don't know that manufacturers explicitly warn in those big instruction books that no one reads to not hammer with the dropouts on the ground. Not only does it damage the dropouts, but the steer tube to crown interface is then compromised because it's an interference fit with Loctite at the most. You're supposed to isolate thee steertube so that the forces aren't transferred elsewhere. As far as going to Japan, how ridiculous are you? It's 2022 and we have the internet and you certainly learned something, but you're not taking it in because you're too enamoured with a video over facts. Behavioural issues around the mental gymnastics you do like that no doubt also exist in other areas of your life as well. The fact that you took the time to criticize my very serious safety warning to prevent some people becoming severely injured (and yes, people have serious facial injuries, among other areas) when their dropouts break shows me you have severe moral issues that cross over with how enamoured you get by people putting content online.
2:55 I still can't believe that people are still hammering on crown races with the dropouts on the ground. This is just nuts. I remember when people were having broken dropouts because of that and meanwhile, we have all sorts of simps here talking about JAPANESE CRAFTSMANSHIP and not calling out that part that not only gets the fork warranty voided, but it's dangerous because those dropouts are going to crack. OMG and he did it again at 4:23. ALL fork manufacturers explicitly warn to not do this highly dangerous practice.

Top level. Thorough and systematic. True professional.
Great that you take the time to face and flush components.

Really nice build up and relaxing video.
Mesmerising watch, great attention to detail. ASMR for bikers!
Incredible work and craftsmanship! Love that color! Such attention to detail.
What a ninja and cracking craftsmanship 👍 Loved this video
This is what the Japanese are known for being craftsmen. Nice work!

Nice video
Hi!! Great job!! What a headset?
Incredible work!!!
Look at the size of the cassette! Dinner plates!
awesome build, very meticulous!
Your Z2's 120mm, your Surly 👍👍
I am glad you did not face the fork, I know a lot of shops here do that. It is pointless and weakens the fork-steerer interface.
Very beautiful. What colour is that frame please?
I painted this frame. This color is the gun metallic color of the Nissan Skyline.

Awesome bike
Would love a list of this custom build, components used etc
The bike is good, but I think you should learn how to use a torque wrench correctly.
i love it❤❤❤
Wah nek kui pit ku wegah aq sing rakit mase kui...iso2 nompo lecet2 seko mase kui...kurang santai mas garape pit kui...
😂 dude has a mask on! 😂
お!高山さん!
I just test drove one of these today, not nearly as nice tho, funny that this is now in my recommendation.
Nice, but you need a thousands of euro's for the tools...
Buy a Torque Wrench and USE IT!! - other than that, great build :)
His hands are better than torque wrenches, so no problem. Thank you.
He used it in the video. Brakes etc. You dont need to use it everywhere,if you got a lot of practice, which he definitely has.
What we're the components and wheels you used
Thanks for your comment. The components is shimano deore. The wheels is Shimano wh-mt601.
What is the brake via axle alignment tool called?
the way he installed the fork crown race and star nut really bothers me,,,
Huoou
that useless fender ruined it for me.
Take the Mask off and Breathe Dipshaver.
