    Videos like this are what sets you and your content apart from your RUclips cycling counterparts. You provide valuable insight on what it takes and what happens behind the scenes, so to speak. Challenges that you face and overcome are what makes you resilient and anti fragile. Chapeau 🎩

      If anyone wants to do this race your videos are a must watch. The insight you have into how hard it is both physically and mentally, and high lighting the beauty of the area, thanks to JB. Hope some of the comments you've had hasn't put you off sharing this sort content in the future. ❤

    In the words of that great philosopher, Harold Francis Callahan, ‘A man’s got to know his limitations’. Chapeau for knowing when to say enough, especially when you must have some degree of thinking about your obligation to sponsors. I would like to echo the other comments - there is great authenticity to your videos which is endearing and inspiring in equal measure. Thank you 👏👍

    Big chapeau bas for doing the Badlands so many times, big chapeau bas for sharing your vulnerability, as this is the sign of true courage and strength. You’ve been my „bicycle hero” for quite some time now, and after this video even more so. Thank you!

    Pro video for just a a cyclingyoutuber ten out of ten.
    I met a 56 year old man riding a gravel/mountainbike here in Holland last year March. Never road a bike. Or did sports. Said he was going to do some mountainbike race thing in August in the south of spain with a friend. It was this event Hadnt trained at all or was planning to train for it. It blows my mind how people think they can "just do" these kind of things. Or even one day very tough events.
    And Chris, good luck on your next adventures.

    Wow Chris - Amazing video. Big share on your part - feels like a direct relationship with how much you've shared and what we get to feel as viewers. And huge kudos to you for sitting down and capturing David's perspective, he had so many great and moving things to say - Thank you. Of course, you're letting folks in on one of the big secrets of ultra racing in that I've never connected so quickly and meaningfully with "strangers" before. Two minutes of riding together and you'll be damned if you leave each other stranded or in a bad way in the middle of the "big monster" you're experiencing together. There is a special and unique kindness between all of the participants, though best understood through experiencing it, I guess.

    Chris reminds me of pog in 2023 - not perfectly fit and disappointing TdF. Hope we can see him have a similar comeback with getting everything next.
    Thousand thanks at this point - you have been a real motivation for me. Listening to you talking with Cade about being unfit in your late teens/ early 20s, then getting back into cycling and becoming one of the most decorated endurance athletes in the world, was a real motivation for me.
    After months of training I am now also going for my first bikepackibg trip, where your vids have also been a huge support.
    Thanks again and hope for a good turnaround next year.

    I noticed you were wearing a base layer in Badlands. It's a marketing 'trick' as far as I'm concerned that you need to wear a base layer even in 40 degrees. I made that mistake as well but I'm pretty sure it's increasing the chance of heatstrokes

    • @ChrisHallRides
      @ChrisHallRides  4 месяца назад

      I wasn’t wearing a base layer, just a T-shirt this year
