‘Pass is an instant lose’
Mekk-knight players going first: o_o
Psy-Frame players when their opponent just sets and passes
@@Liathrys the Psy-Frame vs Mekk-Knight players literally in a rolling dice format
It's true enough in competitive Yugioh as-is.
Blue Eyes players when they brick.
People: why should we play your Yu-Gi-Oh card game over everyone elses
Konami: it's the OFFICIAL card game!!
Let's go linkara lecture and pcp host man
Jontron: i take your entire stock
Magic didn’t have set rotation at first. It wasn’t for a while that they standard became a thing. And there was always what we now call vintage to go along with it.
I have no idea why that guy's channel isn't more popular, that entire series on the history of TCGs in Japan is amazing. I'd also recommend Kohdok who does a similar thing but his main series is on game design, but also gets bonus points for being a weirdo with a collection of 100+ different (mostly failed) TCGs so there's a lot super niche stuff most people would have never seen.
Yeah I watched his series of 7 deadly sins of tcg or what was the name
That was interesting and fun
@@Throrma Yeah, that's the one.
Ah yes, Farfa reacts is my favorite reaction series, I especially like monday episodes featuring nimnim from the RUclips channel
In my opinion is getting boring, i prefer real content
Omar
to make sense of the charizard statement, putting ember flamethrower and fire blast on a zard doesn't make sense since they're all the same type and would waste slots, usually u want more type coverage or stat boosting moves.
Ngl every time I played those games as a kid I would have all 4 slots filled with the strongest possible moves regardless of anything else. Overheat and stuff like that on all 4 slots on every single one of my pokemon thay wasn't an HM slave.
So heres the funny part
The last time Charizard is viable competitively, its not uncommon to use up to 3 fire move
You put 3 fire moves of different power in game so you don't run out of pp when you are grinding in gen one
What do you mean?
My Empoleon with Surf, Waterfall, Whirlpool and Aqua Jet was the Ultimate Penguin in terms of Attack and Defense

Be sure to give the original video a view too guys, right now this one has more views that it, and the guy put a ton of effort into his video.
yeah, this is unacceptable honestly ...
this
The whole series is so good. Like, shouldn't be free level good lol. I assume he can read/speak Japanese, which is why he has such depth to his research.
@@otangakudyokeman7124 yeah who could have ever forseen the more popular creator getting more views
@@Sillimant_ thats stealing content from the minority ... no idea why the sarcasm
man its crazy how Monster Reborn, maybe 1 of the most simple effects in the whole game, is STILL seeing play after all this time. Its just a generically good card with 0 downside.
It isn't surprising if you know the exact reason lol
It’s crazy to think that some of the most broken cards ever printed were released within the first few years of Yugioh TCG being released. It blows my mind that cards that powerful were printed back then and are now banned nearly 20 years later
@@yugiohlegend they were the last cards printed without hindsight to be fair
@@temptlessmonk9331 foresight i think you mean
@@youngdoodle no no, cuz you see, they knew they f'd up only after they f'd up
You could argue that foresight was always there in some sense, for example theres clear powercreep in the first two sets ever printed
This OCG history video is sooo good, deserves more attention for sure
there's also the channel roobindale, who has a series called "History of the Yugioh meta" it only has one entry so far about the year 2002, but it's really good as well(47 minutes long) he did release a trailer for the next one a month ago.
@@nikraa77 theres another meta history series(discontinued) by masterfox72 that goes over 2002 and beyond covering first the beginning few months and onward with some episodes being over 30 minutes long but sadly he stopped posting
Are we sure normal aleister wasnt there in 1996, it feels like its been around forever
u can find aleistar in the video at 16:20 hes always been there bro
Its always been there. The Yugioh illuminati just doesn't want you to know about that fact.
Farfa: Why is this broken?
(Reads the Card)
Farfa: Oh I see.
30:00 this makes me want to see farfa react to a bunch of pokemon card texts on stream
Or any of the draw cards in MTG.
Koushiki/Ekusupaato: We're doing a simple game that anyone can learn and play :)
Nowdays: HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE ABOUT "IF" AND "WHEN"?
I'm pretty sure 2015 is not nowdays but okay.
34:38 All High Level Monsters in hand prevents you from summoning
*Danger! Archetype breaks in*
What you just say you little shit?!
33:13 I was going to call "swords of revealing light" cave man's "mystic mine", then I realized that mystic mine is an actual cave!
"Delinquent Duo for 3"
So a trio.
Man that channel really deserves more subscribers, that dude is amazing.
And thank you Farfa for making us know about him.
dude I was always curious about the ocg meta and lore, looking all this shit up is a nightmare. This video is amazing!
Did Vlad upload to the wrong channel again?
Crazy to think that capsule monsters is the only reason Konami had any interest in the franchise to begin with. The fact that they were similar to other popular toys is the only reason why we have a yugioh card game today.
Farfa, I dare you to host an Official Rules tournament with modern cards
How about with modern card with original ocg witch and sangan erratas....
it's kind of carzy to think that there where multiple yugioh card games before the one we all know
Unlike maybe other TCG that failed, Magic always supported some sort of non-rotating format for competitive gameplay as far as I know, even if they do not take it a lot into consideration when designing cards.
Praise Maniax, he's channel is amazing
That's actually Dragon Statue not Troop Dragon...I'll take my Yu-Gi-Oh! Trivia W and my real life L and be on my way.
@farfa
9:26
Left column is first week/month sales vs. Total sales in second column
there are 2 more parts that I don't think Farfa has reacted to. I want to see his reaction to them.
And to this day, the fact that Konami chose to use those machines is a pain in the ass to find cool sleeves
Me while in Yugioh Ultra Nerd Mode: "We've got the best artworks of any card game in history. Our game has gotten to the point of being so fast that FTK, STK, & OTK City is standard at the same time outrunning Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog. A lot of cards' effects are broken so they have to be banned years after being release in order to slowdown the speed of the game, and a bunch more are memes with other banned cards players will scream if they come off the list. Endymion is the fucking Holy Bible, Graceful Charity is a Danger! Darkworld player's wet dream, Gishki Hand Loops ft. Topologic Gumblar Dragon, Firewall FTK, Exodia, and even to this day *NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK POT OF GREED DOES!* And that is not getting started with the Master Rules and other ruling Gray areas."
Me in Majic The Addiction Mode:
"Play Island. Pass."
i like how the 10th video is the first video even tho it says #10 on the video but farfa was adamant on stream that the video was part 1 lol
Its part 1 of ygo but yeah if farfa wanted to know about pokemon or monster collection in similar styles there’s 9 other vids out 7 were pokemon 2 were monster collection
Magic survived because they had multiple formats, so rotation didn't really stop much back in the 90's or early 00's.
Holy shit I remember Capsule Monster. I loved that game. When I was younger I thought that game was so hard. How time flies man.
Ok so this explains why the OCG and TCG are two "different" things lol
when the reaction has more views than the actual video
12:53 trooper dragon yes and no it spiked snail and tiger axe and basic insect
13:00 That's not "Troop Dragon" actually, it's an old vanilla called "Dragon Statue", I know this from Duelist of the Roses.
Btw guys, if you can't be asked to rewatch the original video leave it playing in the background, it deserves every view it can get.
The game that sold 1.4Mil was Pokemon Yellow. The list is showing how much it sold that season and how much it sold overall.
Does anyone know if/when Farfa reacted to the second OCG video this guy did? I found it even more interesting than the first.
Didn't Magic nearly die because they reprinted Alpha cards?
I still have my copy of forbidden memories, the scratches show how many hours I spend playing it... And still works
7:52 well... that was inevitable
Official rules are basically junior journey format. Nice.
This was a great video series. I loved it, the original video definitely deserves more views.
That guy has a great channel I’ve been subbed for awhile now
Please react to part two
and react to his Monster collection history videos
Pokemon used a Jumbo CardAss Machine
Capsule monster Colosseum was amazing. Such a fun game back in the day
15:18 Farfa admits Dragoon is good
Never forget, never allow anyone else to forget
So, the thing with rotations in magic and something a lot of games just don't get is that, they made multiple formats. When they made set rotation, they kept holding events and tournaments for the 2 different formats, one with just the recent cards and one with all the cards, so, it didn't kill the game because if people didn't want to keep buying shit because it was new, they would just stick to the old format. In the end it worked for them because it allowed them to keep the power level of the game "consistent" as they don't have to power creep the old cards in order for people to buy the new ones, like what happens with yugioh. So yeah... the issue people had with set rotation back then was not applied to magic because all these other games just completely killed the old cards while magic just created different formats and supported them
hopefully he watches the part 2
Nah what's fun is that metas, mechanics, and multi-generational formats form in spite of the game at a base level being terribly built. But that's the beauty is that unlike Magic or other surgically competitively assembled games it's built from the player testing, it's the Obsidian/Bethesda of card games.
imagine youre kicking your opponents ass but youve got no cards in hand and you draw a ritual monster for turn and instant lose cause you cant play anything
So Yugioh is the chad version of Magic the Gathering?
Its basically JoJo + MTG. The manga was inspired by the Darby brothers from part 3
@@solidsnivy8394 Ewww jojo
More like a shitty parody that went too far.
Oops wrong video in the wrong channel
I need more of these types of vids Farfa :)
Check out his second channel
5:03 Doesn't he mean "resolved without effect" :p
So sa so say is what I’m calling it from now on and no one can stop me. Also when’s part 2?
You can find the vod on his Twitch where he watches part 2. It's the vod from 3 days ago titled "BIGGEST phat content today."
Tbh I play yugioh because I like deck building & playing the game not really because of it's iconicness
What a coincidence so do most
@@furymonger5395 that's why it's satire
13:20 Farfa forgot some of his chat can read Japanese (just assuming)
how is the only og monster farfa got right is uraby
all yall better watch the original video 😣🙏
That's not troop dragon. That's Dragon Statue
Love all this content on the main channel!
Dark duel series was my childhood.
NDAs in a Japanese company? Nowadays a lot of media companies just run on the honor system, even with overseas freelancers.
Lingering swords would be broken even today. Imagine stall decks with it lemayo
5:42 HOWEVER
This was so interesting!
12:42 It's Dragon Statue not Troop Dragon
The pnly cards i want more than that normal bls are the alternate art cards from the asia 2001 tournament. They are gorgeous:
1st place, alt art blue eyes ultimate dragon
2nd place alt art summon skull (apparently this card was lost in an earthquake and the only copy that exists is in the subway in shinjuku that has a wall w every yugioh card ever)
3rd place was either gemini elf or kuriboh both in alt arts. Im not positive on the order really besides BEID
Finally there was a prize for the junior tournament winner (no mention at all if any other placement got a card). This junior champion has the most gorgeous alt art of red eyes black dragon to ever grace this planet.
Honeatly i hope konami never reprints these cards in the same art unless it is for a world championship or another extremely top-tier event. I think a cheap reprint in a set or even as a lost art or any non tournament promo would insult their legacy
Where's part 2
they need to re animate yugioh season 0 that would go crazy if they kept the dark side of things too
it would be way better than watching a kids show tbh
They need to remake the whole story to accurately tell the story of the manga. Yugioh and Duel Monsters anime butchered Takahashi's story in the manga.
they got that monster wrong, that was Dragon Statue not troop dragon.
Saw this on stream but commenting for the algorithm
TO THE MOOOOON
i still have the game boy color game lol has some lit theme music
Y'all should go check out that guy's channel, REALLY good tcg content!
Forbidden Memories got me hyped
🚀🌕

Im still wondering what's the name of that meme where sam (tsx1) rapper popping on his twitch chat
So, part 2, when?
Farfa: “how do you know that?”
Actual fans: “I mean, we play and like this game from the start?”
Farfa: *pikachu face*
When will you react to parts 3 and 4?
12:49
That's not Mechanical Snail, it's his cousin Spiked Snail :) old as f
Early yugioh is wild
I got a raid shadow legends add. Yep
isnt tyler the great warrior the most expensive yugioh card?
I played that ps2 game it was actually really fun
9:38 shout out to Parasite Eve💕
How tf do you not know mechanical snail?
I just searched and the first two videos are “#1” and “#8” I’m not watching 8+ episodes of that.
it's history of japanese tcgs not only ygo. YGO only has 2 videos for now
Your loss, they're good videos.
I'm actually shocked Farfa knows nothing about Pokémon
Farfa you react to the the other videos too

Uh... Thats Miho, a one chapter character in the manga that the anime staff added to the main cast in the anime.
Farfa is amazed that guys know the early vanillas. Im amazed he doesnt. I knew everyone of these 😅 Well im here from the beginning maybe thats it
Has Farfa watched s0 yet?
Can you upload more?
