If you’re worried about having too many bikes remember there is a formula that never fails. It is x+1 and x = the number of bikes you currently have

I ride a KTM 200 and it's my favorite bike so far! Not necessarily the most competitive bike (I'm also kinda slow), but it's a an absolute blast to ride which is why I ride in the first place. Would definitely recommend!

Remember, the oldie but goodie, KDX200 has a cult following. Adam, “Adam does dirt bikes” has been running his in hard enduros. Mind you that he is not nipping at Billy Bolt’s heals with it, but he is still getting it done. The beta dealer that I bought my Xtrainer from said he loves his 200.

As much as you push your bike in a hard enduro, I think the 200 would be best for you. it's lighter, therefore, easier to push which means less energy being used.

200's, especially the newer Beta 200's are silly fun to ride! I recent bought a 250rr, but it was a very close call between that and the 200.

If you think the 200 was fun in this terrain, wait till you get in some Hard Enduro Stuff, it's so light and manageable. Plenty of power for the hills even at my fat 200lbs! The big difference is the end of the day you are less worn out from the 300 pulling you all day! You have to pay attention to what gear you are in more than on the 300, but the 200 is your friend all day...every day!

I was a Beta dealer for 5 years at my auto repair shop in Marquette Mi, that's right, home of the Mad Moose hard enduro, I'm sure you remember that one Zack. I'm a Sandstormer club member and we ride that shit exclusively. The 350 has been my favorite Beta, that motor is amazing, but I'm a 4 stroke guy. If I was to go back to a 2 stroke it would be the 200 hands down, also an incredible motor but so much lighter and nimble. If I do get another Beta it will be the 200.

Now you see why a lot of us love riding the small bore bikes. They're just more fun and you expend less energy in the nasty stuff. That said, for me it would probably be the 250 race edition for most situations. A 250 is like a 200 on steroids. BTW, Zach, please adjust the color in your software. It looks like you're riding orange KTM's and not red Betas!

The 200 is awesome. I have tried the 350, 390, 250 and 300 race editions and by far the 200 is my favourite. It is so light and nimble, yet will pull 3rd up technical climbs, love it a lot. More like a lower powered 250 than a big 125. I would say for the smaller rider this bike can do technical terrain no problem.

I have a 2022 300rr on order which will likely be in very soon. I also recently attended a local demo day and rode the same bikes. I am second guessing a 200rr as well but need a do it all bike which includes connecting trails with streets for local riding as well as events. I'm coming off a kdx220 which is near the make weight as the 200. I guess either is a great choice but I'm going through analysis paralysis! I going to hold on to your comment that you wouldn't get rid of your 300's solely for the 200. I will say I really enjoyed the 250 out of the bunch but feel the 200 and 300 will have a better resell when the time comes to get rid of them.

Ktm 200 exc is my all time favourite off-road bike, for me nothing was as fun to ride and they're quick too but it was more about the shear enjoyment I had with mine that makes it my number 1 pick. i also bought a 2022 300rr back in October and i took a chance because i have never rode or even sat on a beta before, coming from an older ktm 300 and various 4 strokes. I really like how easy and fun the 300rr is to ride, for me it is an excellent woods only bike. i have a crf 450rx also so i would pick the 500 as a second beta to compare with the 450.

Now for me the Yamaha YZ 250 is the one I just love to shred on. I love a nice hit and aggressive power. I’m old school though and can’t be changed from Yamaha. My wish dream bike would be for Yamaha to come out with a mean hard core YZ500 2 stroke!! Water cooled and engine design completely based off of the YZ250, so the same type of cylinder/power valve design except bigger. Could you imagine the brutal power!!

Did a Beta Demo day a few months ago and couldn't get over how much fun the 350 was. All bikes were great, (Absolutely loved the dual sport horns and imagining how utterly annoying they'd be in a race) but the KYB on the race editions handled the higher speed bumps and chop much better. Definitely considering making the switch.

I attended the 2024 beta demo day in Michigan this year and while I already have a Xtrainer. I liked the 300rr to replace my xtrainer, it had smooth power weverywhere. Then I have a toss up between the 390rs and 480rr, they didn't have the 500rs at this event. I'm a a two track and singletrack rider so the 4 strokes would be my bikes for longer distances and faster riding. Not sure which one fits my style better. I felt far more comfortable on the 390 and even the 350 but I think if I'm riding at speed for any length of time the 500rs might be the way to go for my next ride.

I owned a 2016 KTM 200 and it was a ton of fun to leisure ride in the woods; light nimble feeling and just fun to rev! But in a race setting it was pretty hard on the wrist and in harder enduro little bit harder to get traction to hop over obstacles. I'm on a 250 XCW TPI now and I still get the revvy feeling as I did on the 200 but it has a very nice low end which helps in blipping or splattering up rocks. That and I can just lug lug lug all day.

Ive been racing a yz250x. At 5'7" the bike just has me feeling too stretched out. For MX (where I came from before getting in to off road) it never bothered me as it feels stable. But, I rode a crf230 in the tight trails, and felt so much better, despite blowing through the suspension.
I've tamed the motor down with the apex XC head, power valve mod, (absolutely awesome combo) and went down a tooth on the front sprocket so 2nd gear is now perfect for low speed stuff... But still, the size of the bike, and that great motor fights me all day, and I focus more on that instead of feeling comfortable enough to try and improve my skills.
I hope to see you at the Corduroy this year (2023), I'll be test riding a 200rr at the demo day, and have a feeling 2024 I'll be racing one of those and set the 250x up for moto.

Nice demos! Love the commentary... my vids have lots of grunts, curse words, and nonsensical gibberish... I heard the '22 300rr re has a higher compression head derived from the Rx300 MX bike. So more ponies than the standard version hopefully! Sort of looks like a '21 300rr Race Edition. The light shell and fork sliders have been red on the Euro '22 300rr re so far.
The last word updated this week on my '22 300rr Race Edition was February... Hope I can wait that long... I guess I don't have a choice... Gotta sell my 17 300rr re which has been an awesome no problem bike that's got me thru many a Texas Enduro and Hare scramble without letting me down once. A little squeaky brakes here and there but that's nothin' to worry about. Change the pads and change the fluid.. Regular racer stuff. Added the Suzuki needle to the keihin before switching to a Lectron I had from a previous bike...

I would get an Xtrainer 300. You get a smaller bike that corners better in the woods and is a little lower to the ground for more control in the slippery stuff. Then you update the suspension and put a 300 RR pipe on it and adjust the power valve if you want that extra power from the 300.

Unless you're racing for money, the ONLY thing that matters is how much fun you're having. You need a 200!

Fun vid. Bikes look almost KTM color for some reason. LOL. Must have been some filter or setting?

Zach appreciate the video, but you are happiest with a wide open throttle, and a little bike allows you to enjoy that more. Nothing wrong with that, but you were exposed on the 1st bike when you scared yourself punching the 500 on the grass track. You found the bike most comfortable for you, just as you stated. Results for others will vary, for me at the demo days the 500 was the top bike, but I own one and know how to use if effectively. Again, that is the bike for me, not you.

I demoed the 500 and it was an absolute weapon including through a very technical section

Well I have 1 ktm sxf 350 as my bike right now. loving it. I ride mostly motocross. But I ride enduro sometimes aswell. I have been dreaming about getting an older ktm 200. That Beta seems so much fun! If I had the cash i´d go for it. Maybe the 300 is more competative, so its a question on what u want. More fun or maybe a placing or two.

Awesome review! I’m struggling to choose between a 300 and a 430 for my next bike, I’ve had a crf450x for 7 years and want something lighter and not so much hard work in the tight stuff. I was just about set on a 300 till I heard your thoughts on the 430 and 390, making it hard to decide again 😂 subbed from 🇦🇺 🤘🏼

Awesome vid, but com' on man, what about the XT?? The XT is gaining ground and forming it's own amazing community. We know it's not an RR, but give it a try! Thanks!

I've had so many dirt bikes over the last 15 years that i can't remember them all, i currently have a YZ250FX (which is a great all round bike), and a KTM 200 EXC with a Rekluse left hand rear brake lever and Rekluse clutch. the KTM 200 is not only the best bike i've had for just the fun factor but also as an amazing little enduro weapon. I would seriously consider giving it a go. Just remember that although it has a Rekluse clutch, you can use the clutch all day long like a normal bike with clutch, (you just won't stall it).

I’d say a 200 only bc im a big 125 person I love a 250 2 stroke but I’m a tall but skinny guy and it feels like to much bike for me I like low end I use mid range the most racing and climbing and I love having Thst top end when you need to get places

Very interesting and entertaining review, Zach. How come these beta's were orange instead of light red/pink? Also, what do you think about the new Stark Varg?🔌

I had KTM 200 and 250. The 200 is a great bike and had a smaller frame in 2007 M.Y. as well... but I ended up sticking with 250s. Running a FMF Gnarly pipe on the 200 made the low end comparable to the 250 but I always wanted the extra top end to get the front wheel up at speed easier.

I really wish you would have spent a few more minutes on the 250 I'm thinking the 250 would have just been a 200 with a bit more oomph... I have a 250 and a 300 and I find them to be radically different in all the ways that you were talking about the 200 to the 300

Awesome. I watched the whole video and all the bikes. I just got my 300 RR Beta and I have to say I love it . As for getting another Beta I’ll keep my 300 and get the 200 Also. It seemed like you really enjoyed riding the 200 RR Beta . Great video. Perfect

I had a 2008 Ktm 200 with a flywheel weight on it and it was dreamy. I imagine a much newer bike would be the ultimate. So wish I wasn’t poor.
