Introduction to Physiology of Endocrine glands

This is an introductory video on physiology of endocrine glands. The teaching is as per the new CBME curriculum following the format of competencies and Objectives. This lecture includes the following objectives under PY8.2 competency
1. Define hormone
2. List all the endocrine organs and the major hormones secreted in each.
3. Define the term paracrine and autocrine and give an example for each
4. Describe the mechanism of action
5. Describe the regulation of secretion of hormones with a neat labelled diagram
6. Describe upregulation and down regulation.
7. Differentiate between genomic and non-genomic effects
