Foothill Transit is trying out the Alexander Dennis ENVIRO 500 Double Decker bus on its Silver Streak. This bus was using a Cummins ISL9 8.9L Six cylinder turbocharges engine with a allison b500 Automatic transmission. This bus had a good solid ride that was enjoyed by all.
Hope Foothill Transit orders these buses.

More double deckers needed for the USA..!!! Great view from the upper deck! 😀👍
DoubleDeckerAnton I agree Anton, but personally I like a good old enviro like we have in London and the rest of the UK (I never forget Yorkshire because of you). Personally I don't like the modified versions for America and Hong Kong etc.
We going LONDON TOWNE BABY!!
After months of testing, the electric double deckers finally made their debut this week on the Silver Streak, and I was lucky enough to capture one of them!
Excellent video Mitch, I loved this bus (we tested here in Chile!!) and I was searching more material, I will share your video, amazing material!!!
It a awesome bus I am going on it on Friday for the first time
Double decker buses from foothill Transit are arriving sometime soon
Even though I was a kid, back in the early 1990s (before the MTA merger) I once saw a RTD Neoplan Double Decker bus traveling westbound on the 10 Freeway near the Kellogg Interchange. I thought I was hallucinating, but it looks like one did make it into the 90s, as most of them were retired by then. It might of been doing a deadhead trip to El Monte Station. The 484 & 490 (now Foothill 190, 194, & Silver) had local & freeway express segments in those days.
They broke down from engine overheat quite a bit, The yard for the RTD double deck buses was just down the street on East End in Pomona from the current Foothill Transit Pomona Bus yard
They are testing them in Austin, Texas And Atlanta Georgia I would like to see them in Houston someday.
I wish MDT (Miami Dade Transit) would get these for the Route 11, 27, 77 and 3. I guy can only dream. *Sigh*
damn they just killed the image of foothill transit I loved when they had the old school gillig phantom buses what a shame
