I liked how they included small history lessons at the start of each nation's war story, taught me about the second world war better than the teachers ever could.
I finished this game when I was still in elementary school. Had no idea how significant the situations were, nor how well the music captured this particular mission. All I knew was that I had to take that damn bridge and finish the game. 15 years later, after spending half of my life reading and watching whatever I can about the Second World War, Finest Hour's ost hits harder than most CoD releases today.

@@Senor_Penor A true war game compared to today. Even that line from the 1st mission stuck with me: "The 1st man in line gets a rifle! The 2nd? Ammunition. When the 1st is killed, the 2nd takes the rifle & SHOOTS!" Chilling, yet epic.
crawling, sniping with the g43, taking fire from everywhere on the other side of the bridge, avoiding grenades, doing your best to not be seen... struggling... thats what i remember.
As a kid, the music completely set the tone for this mission. The first time you hear it, its the game's theme and its more upbeat even though very slightly and without the Chorus, it was a horn. This one though, was darker, FOREBODING and spoke of the hell that I was about to enter to finish this game. THE CHILLS MAN!
My first cod and happened to be on the OG xbox. As i get older video games aren’t hitting like they used to to but i love going back to listen to the music for that nostalgia.
@@yodaddyrc1220 Its that damn MG nest to the right side where you have to set explosives. The infinite respawning enemies didnt help either. Shoot the MG gunner from safety and make a mad dash to plant the explosives and make it back to cover in time before another enemy takes over the MG42 and mows you down. Good times, being a child. I was stuck on that level for a week lol.
Music like this really makes you think what a tyrannical struggle the Second World War was and the courage that it took to take down the Nazi beast forever
When I was a kid I hated this mission because of its difficulty. Since the nearest and only checkpoint on the mission was at the very end of the bridge when you started storming the fortifications. I remember getting a smack from my dad for throwing my gamepad at the wall during another failed attempt to cross the bridge😆
It's late in the war and everyone in the platoon knows it. We still have to keep pushing forward. They fight harder and harder the closer we get; Why won't they just give up?

@bruhism173 yeah that mission was a real pain. I think anytime your in a mission where you have to defend something was difficult in this game.

Retake the train station on United Offensive were hard as well even you're not playing Veterans difficulty, took me 2 hour to beat

I got this game for Christmas in 2004 when I was in 7th grade at 13 years old and I played the heck out of it.

Try tank defense crew missions on veteran difficulty - you take your words back.
Man you should replay the final British mission if this game. That is for sure the hardest mission.
