They are exactly like the last airbender adaptation. They bought the rights with the promise to take the author's feedback, and then completely broke off ties with the creator, ignored many change requests from him, created a really unfaithful adaptation that the original creator hated, released it, tarnished the brand, and turned so many people off the franchise. I've talked to so many people that said they aren't going to read the books or watch the series because the movies were so bad. This is practically the same thing that happened with the Last Airbender.
Aww that’s so sad that many people got turned off 🥲 but for me, the last airbender adaptation was so much worse 😭 I guess it’s because I was a fan of the animated show FIRST before watching the movie. Unlike with Percy Jackson movies, I didn’t have any background of the story so of course, I liked the movies 😩 but I changed my mind when I finally read the books. Yeah, it’s true that they absolutely butchered the two adaptations :( i hope netflix’s adaptation of avatar will be better 🤞🏻
I’m just like you. I watched the movies first. I actually watched the second movie first and completely adored it. And the second movie is like the worst one everyone says. I watched the first one later. And didn’t like that one as much. But without the movies I wouldn’t have read the book series. And I would have still thought Percy Jackson was a football player. I would have never picked up the books. They’ll always have a special place in my heart and my younger brother loves the movies. We’ve been watching the new show together and I think he still likes the movies more. 😂 But I’ll always love the books over everything else. I love them more than the movie and the show. Especially since they are what got me through middle school and now that is not what they are doing for me. I can never have that same experience again with Percy Jackson. But I am so grateful for that experience I had.
Most of these "Good things that came from the movies" didn't come from the movies. They existed before the movies, and they would've existed without the movies. A bad adaptation introducing someone to a good series isn't a good thing about the movies, its a good thing about the books, that they have the power to attract new fans, even through a terrible adaptation. Also, the movies' death didn't bring about the birth of the series. The series wouldn't need to exist if the movies were good, that's the whole point of there being a series in the first place. The only thing I agree with in this video is that Logan Lerman is a phenomenal actor, and even then, his personality doesn't match Percy.
Yeah, I know. But honestly, without the movies, I wouldn’t read the books because I’m not really a fan of reading 😅 so that’s a good thing FOR ME :) but I agree, the series wouldn’t need to exist if the movies were good but I just pointed it out in one video. I believe that even without the films, a series or better film adaptation would still come. But it’s just that the terrible film adaptations still came first soooo 😬 Logan tries HAHA but yeah, his portrayal is nothing like Walker’s ☹️😅 but it’s ok, Logan is still a cutie 🥰😆

The movies are dneiftelt over hated. They aren’t that bad. The fan base is just full of weirdos who over infatuate the characters of the books. Look at how much cringe fan art and fan edits of the fuckin characters. It’s weird
A okay adaptation understands character cores,and basic themes,the movie didn't. The Olympians are corrupt deadbeats,while the movie said "I wanted to be with you but Zeus forbid it." And "Our Friend Downstairs" is an overworked manager who's has enough of the Olympians crap,but the movie made him "cruel and abusive"But people keep whinging about little details.
