Having lived in Australia for many years, I came to realise that John Farnham is the greatest singer ever, and this song is the ultimate anthem to define what peace on a world scale means. Now you know why we Aussies call Farnsey the voice , this song is more relevant today than it was when it came out , any thinking person will get the message , he has other songs with a message as well like AGE OF REASON , IN DAYS TO COME , THAT'S FREEDOM and his tribute cover of Cold Chisel's WHEN THE WAR IS OVER ,all should be reacted too because all are relevant to today . All his concerts were phenomenal but this one was an experience to be part of my wife and I travelled a thousand miles to see it and were not dissapointed . My favourite Farnsey song was from his time with THE LITTLE RIVER BAND called COOL CHANGE although it was sung by the band's original lead singer first John's version is the best I've ever heard , check it out it's one of the most calming songs out there .
You should react to another John Farnham song called Help, its actually a cover of the Beatles song Help. John made it in his own style. I think its his best performance done with the Melbourne symphony orchestra. Much love from Queensland Australia 🦘❤

So many more great performances from that Classic Jack Live Concert for you to discover. One, Age of Reason, Blow by Blow, Touch of Paradise, Please Don't ask me, Don't you know it's Magic. Just pick anything they are all great. (Even Sadie) And you should mix it up with some from The Chain Reaction Concert as well. Oh and the Main Event Concert....we can keep you busy forever with John 🤣🤣 Oh and yes he is aware of all you guys reacting as we share your reactions with his boys and they show him
Listen to John sing "Amazing Grace" with two of his background singer's who are also amazing singer's, his background singer's stayed with him for many years because they were more like friends he really cared for all the people he worked with. It was at the end of a concert because his shirt was wet with perspiration.
I first heard and saw John singing ''Sadie'' while he was standing on the back of a flatbed truck as his stage at the Warana Festival in Brisbane when i was 14 , I am now 68 and i still love his fantastic voice . 💜
I first heard him at age 17, singing SADIE the cleaning lady…. He was standing on the back of a Ute at Caribbean Gardens - a trash n treasure market held on weekends in Rowville , Melbourne, Victoria. I’m 61. I later went to some of his concerts - Whispering Jack. / You’re the Voice. / Jacks Back. ❤❤❤ every song he sings I love. I also saw him in the stage musical of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR with Jon English when I was in year 11.
G'day mate, good to see that you're enjoying Farnsey. Growing up in Australia in the 80s p and another amazing Australian artist Tommy Emmanuel we're like part of the furniture down here and it's just fantastic to see a wider audience enjoy them as much as we have for decades. They're both very much cut from the same cloth in that they are absolutely and astonishingly amazing talents also both fair dinkum down to earth decent blokes and genuinely nicest people in public life you could ever meet on top of being Deadset friggin Legends in their own time. The craziest thing of all in my own experience is it's only relatively recently that both of them have come back into the forefront of my mind and I had the same thought about both when seeing them on RUclips which was 'Geez I haven't seen them in years what are they been up to? Play Anthony the same in both cases OMFG, that's what they're been doing. Improving!! F****** they were already off the friggin dial! 🤯. Hope someone sees this and read it and checks out; 'This time we're playing to win - acoustic Chapel version' by John Farnham personally it's the best thing I've ever heard perform & freely available on RUclips, John Farnham reactions but I have never seen anyone react to this. As far as the free fish Tommy Emmanuel's concerned it really doesn't matter what listen to the man seriously does not hit a wrong note ever. The freak is like Mary Poppins whith a freaking guitar, practically perfect in every way. All these stuff on RUclips freely available and because he practically his own record label it doesn't pin anyone copyright as far as I'm aware but I want if I was to recommend one thing that everyone should see is Tommy Emmanuel TED Talk in Melbourne as in it he demonstrates and explains what is his doing and it is just mind boggling. He also explains why he does it. In his words he's not in the music business he's in the happiness business, he plays and we get happy.
It’s A Long Way TO The Top(If You Wanna Rock N Roll)! From that same concert. It’s a cover from AC/DC! John is the G.O.A.T! I keep saying it. You are in for a long ride with this amazing man! Thanks for a great reaction. This song is also regarded as Australia’s unofficial song. It’s one of his big anthems! There’s plenty more of that to come!
It’s hard to understand that you guys had not heard of John before we grew up with his music every dance or party I went to as a teen it always had John Farnham I glad that you have found him now I can’t imagine what that must be like and John was still performing up to 2019 only stop then cause of Covid we all pray when he well and recovered from his cancer he will preform again ❤
I'm 61 years, Australian. I. remember John known at that time as Johnny. With his first hit single Sadie the cleaning lady. In early 60s John is now 73. And sadly in August 22 he was diagnosed with mouth cancer so we may never hear the voice we call John in Australia sing again. Lucky for us to have media available to us.
A lot of John’s songs have a message like “chain reaction, age of reason, let the banners fall, in days to come”, but this is just an epic anthem of a song. John Farnham is the voice. And you know when John starts winding up the mic stand he’s about to throw it.
Thank you for the great reaction, loved your face with the mic stand tricks. From this concert It's a Long way to the Top (if you wanna rock'n'roll) is up tempo, high energy and a lot of fun. Another great concert is The Main Event. This showcased various combinations of John, Olivia Newton John (they were great friends) and Anthony Warlow (an iconic Aussie operatic and musical theatre great). Granada with Anthony (comedic and operatic) and Please Don't Ask Me, a beautiful ballad with ONJ, are two that show more facets of John's amazing talent. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I have told JF about YT and his new fans via the website his sons started to enable them to handle the volume of messages.
Loving your respect for John. This was his “break back” song … his career was in limbo having previously been successful as a young “pop” star but radios would no longer play his music. This song brought him back from the wilderness and became a huge hit including in some European countries. This is why John was tagged “The Voice” - not only because of his voice but because of the song. The bagpipes send audiences nuts - a real feature of the song and John loves throwing the mike around in all of his concerts. Don’t know if he ever clonked one of the musos!! This song was the beginning of John’s second stage of success and he’s been singing for decades. Love him to bits.
Today is September 2024 and the lyrics of this song are still a very powerful message for all young people... We have the chance to turn the pages over We can write what we want to write We gotta make ends meet before we get much older We're all someone's daughter We're all someone's son How long can we look at each other Down the barrel of a gun? You're the voice, try and understand it Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah We're not gonna sit in silence We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah This time, we know we all can stand together With the power to be powerful Believing we can make it better...
This man is epic! He is known as "The Voice". Here in Australia he's a national treasure. His career started in the 1960's and he was still performng in his 70's. This song is still so relevant today, 40 years later. Unfortunately, now in his 70's John has mouth cancer and has had a section of his jaw removed. It's devastating to think he may never sing again. So tragic.
I was there, maybe not at that arena, but I did go to PERTH AUSTRALIA CONCERTS. Everytime you see him touch the microphone stand you know he might throw it and catch it, His Roadies hated it.❤️🇦🇺
I appreciate you doing this reaction video. When John was in his prime every record label passed on him except his good friend Glenn Wheatley, Yet you prove that people beyond Australia appreciates his voice.
Not from this concert, but his performance of Cold Chisel’s When The War Is Over from The Last Time tour and Gethsemene from the final night performance of Jesus Chris Superstar are two all time, unmatched live vocals. As a singer, I legit don’t know how he did either.
Speedy recovery for John after tumour/cancer cut from his mouth he may never sing again, he's a flippin legend and I'm in alternative stuff but this kool as is his version of Help the best🇦🇺💫🙌🏼✌🏼
This song was before it’s time - it’s part of today- John to me is the only person who could deliver the message with this song - he owns it ❤️👍🏿🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
If they ever invent time travel tours to see the best concerts from the past, I'll be attending this one! PLAYING TO WIN Live with the MSO is a great one too - it has such a huge amount of energy! Check it out :)
I'm coming with you & a side trip to Queen at Live Aid, A bit of ACDC at River Plate and Cold Chisel Ringside tour with some Led Zeppelin thrown in somewhere along the line. A TARDIS would help.
Good choice for your reaction mate. Fun fact; I’ve done the bagpipe bit in this song for John’s concerts quite a few times back in the day. Not me in this one tho😊
This was the song that saved (reinvented) John's career. Believe it or not when it was released with the album that featured it in 1985-86 "Whispering Jack", John's career was at rock bottom, he was broke, considered a has-been from his Johnny Farnham "King of Pop" teen idol days late 1960's and early 70s, and no one in the music industry wanted to know. He couldn't get a record deal and his best friend and manager Glenn Wheatly mortgaged his house to pay for the record. When they tried to get air time for You're The Voice, believing they had something special, the radio stations refused to play it. They flatly refused "Johnny Farnham". Part of the reason putting his name out as John at this time was to try to separate from the early days, he had matured and his voice had matured. Eventually when they convinced a radio station to play it, the phones rang of the hook. It snowballed and launched him back to top of the charts and to this day remains the highest selling album by an Australian artist in Australia. John and Glenn never really looked back. And we all can see why 🥰
I don't think I've ever felt better about myself or more motivated than I did the first time I belted this on SingStar. It's such a brilliant track and what can I say about John Farnham that hasn't already been said?
Yer I thought you had done this one as well. This one is anthem quality. When John eventually goes it will leave a big hole in Australia’s heart just like Steve Irwin.
Great reaction! Thank you for enjoying and appreciating my all time favourite singer for 50 years, John Farnham! Please watch more of his phenomenal live performances backed by his amazing band!
You're right, mate. You could react to the whole concert - or any of his concerts. He's that good. We're all sending him positive vibes for a speedy recovery.
A huge song with a massive message, he was, is and always will be the voice, by the way I was at this concert in 1989 as an 18 year old, will never forget it
John had the ability to draw amazing people around him one whom was David Hirschfelder you can see on keyboards. Musical director, arranger and a composer in his own right a lot of the sound of John’s concerts at this time were a result of their collaboration.
I have been to many John Farnham concerts and I may have been at this one - who knows. The important thing is that his voice is incomparable, it is unique and for it to come from such a genuine down to earth decent person is truly amazing. BTW, if you want to do yourself a favor listen to his version of The Beatles HELP - it is as though the song was written for him.
John Farnham, the man, the myth, the legend. This is the voice of my childhood and i'm so grateful.

I don't think we’ll hear him live again. First saw him when I was a teenager in the sixties. Followed his career. He is still The Voice.
You should react to another John Farnham song called Help, its actually a cover of the Beatles song Help. John made it in his own style. I think its his best performance done with the Melbourne symphony orchestra. Much love from Queensland Australia 🦘❤
Yep he can sing anything
That was the best concert i have ever been to, Ive seen John live in Melbourne 3 times.
Thank you kindly for the awesome reactions 👍
No problem 😊
It's great watching people discover Farnsey's songs for the first time. Your reactions are so good. John just has that effe c t on people and blows them away as soon as he opens his mouth. So many more great performances from that Classic Jack Live Concert for you to discover. One, Age of Reason, Blow by Blow, Touch of Paradise, Please Don't ask me, Don't you know it's Magic. Just pick anything they are all great. (Even Sadie)
And you should mix it up with some from The Chain Reaction Concert as well. Oh and the Main Event Concert....we can keep you busy forever with John 🤣🤣
Oh and yes he is aware of all you guys reacting as we share your reactions with his boys and they show him
thanks for the kind words Carolyn and yes this man is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! i will add those to the list.
@@CVTECK1 Carolyn is right, I just watched this reaction on a link in John's fan page lol...ppl are loving it... 😘
@@justlinsu Oh wow i didn't think people were doing that wow that is beyond cool. makes happy that he knows he's getting new fans everyday wow love it
I have been to many JF concerts…❤ he is and has always been my fav.. we are so lucky to have grown up listening to his music👌
Legend!!!!!
The soundtrack to our Gen-X youth. 😊❤️🇦🇺
Listen to John sing "Amazing Grace" with two of his background singer's who are also amazing singer's, his background singer's stayed with him for many years because they were more like friends he really cared for all the people he worked with. It was at the end of a concert because his shirt was wet with perspiration.
2 strong hearts and playing to win, so many more!! He’s our Aussie ambassador ❤
Yep thatconcert!..you can just do the wholeconcert and it is flawless.
Try Playing to win from the same concert...ruclips.net/video/tDSh8ADBVHA/видео.html
@@pollyanna1112 We have some good memories mate .💜
Hope someone sees this and read it and checks out;
'This time we're playing to win - acoustic Chapel version' by John Farnham personally it's the best thing I've ever heard perform & freely available on RUclips, John Farnham reactions but I have never seen anyone react to this.
In his words he's not in the music business he's in the happiness business, he plays and we get happy.
i love how you said Melbourne 🎉
Haaa people has been trying to tell me how to say correctly but I think they given up on me haaaaa
This song slaps. I can't believe I've never heard it either.
I heard it about 5 times today lol
@@CVTECK1 twice for me lol
@@CVTECK1 The Anthem for The People Worldwide in these crazy times👍🏼❤️🇦🇺 GDay from WA (Western Australia)
Yep it’s epic just love it 😊🥰👍🇦🇺
Age of Reason from this concert too.
And that's why he's known as The Voice!
We love, adore John ❤️❤️❤️🌏🙋♀️👆❤️❤️❤️
How old is this and I still love it.
1986 BUT it will never grow old - a lot of Johns music is just as relevant today as it was when released - after all, how can pure gold grow old 😁
He did it’s a long way to the top at this concert it was unbelievable, 😮I watch it as many times as I can
will do
I am 83 he was phenomenal. I love his voice runs rings around most other singers.Open up your ears America
The backing musicians are his band and the power of the full Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Hi CV, Good pickup, most reactors don't see the stand toss.
that was great catch
The entire concert was and is amazing !!!!
I agree
special performance alright
Yessss! We love John in Oz ❤❤❤❤❤
A Australian Anthem, school kids sing it at concerts, football games, you name it. 💯🇦🇺
Thanks for the kind words and that microphone toss this man puts on a show lol.
What else can I say about John he's a legend
Never get tired of this guy…
Today is September 2024 and the lyrics of this song are still a very powerful message for all young people...
We have the chance to turn the pages over
We can write what we want to write
We gotta make ends meet before we get much older
We're all someone's daughter
We're all someone's son
How long can we look at each other
Down the barrel of a gun?
You're the voice, try and understand it
Make the noise and make it clear, oh, woah
We're not gonna sit in silence
We're not gonna live with fear, oh, woah
This time, we know we all can stand together
With the power to be powerful
Believing we can make it better...
the nicest person you could ever meet
This man is epic! He is known as "The Voice". Here in Australia he's a national treasure. His career started in the 1960's and he was still performng in his 70's. This song is still so relevant today, 40 years later. Unfortunately, now in his 70's John has mouth cancer and has had a section of his jaw removed. It's devastating to think he may never sing again. So tragic.
Still gives the me goosebumps 💙🙏🇦🇺
Amazing song
I was there, maybe not at that arena, but I did go to PERTH AUSTRALIA CONCERTS. Everytime you see him touch the microphone stand you know he might throw it and catch it, His Roadies hated it.❤️🇦🇺
I appreciate you doing this reaction video. When John was in his prime every record label passed on him except his good friend Glenn Wheatley, Yet you prove that people beyond Australia appreciates his voice.
Please do Age of Reason. Apparently one of John's favourites 😄..... and mine.
I learnt to sing listening to John.
Love having you on board😊👍
I'll check it out Clair!
This is the unofficial Aussie anthem we all know it ❤
Along with Great Southern Land, and Working Classman
Natural raw Aussie talent mate👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Not from this concert, but his performance of Cold Chisel’s When The War Is Over from The Last Time tour and Gethsemene from the final night performance of Jesus Chris Superstar are two all time, unmatched live vocals. As a singer, I legit don’t know how he did either.
Speedy recovery for John after tumour/cancer cut from his mouth he may never sing again, he's a flippin legend and I'm in alternative stuff but this kool as is his version of Help the best🇦🇺💫🙌🏼✌🏼
Have a listen to long way to the top if you want to rock n roll ACDC cover with john farnham and the Melbourne symphony orchestra
It's always been a ...get up n do it man...song !
Our Aussie legend
Thanx for reacting

✨🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 John ❤️😍
This song was before it’s time - it’s part of today- John to me is the only person who could deliver the message with this song - he owns it ❤️👍🏿🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
His sound check cover of Led Zep's Black Dog is mind blowing!
John doing Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar, with the 1992 Australian cast.
It's AMAZING!!!
The BESt
Yes. Wasn’t Jon English in this with him, Jon English played Jesus and Colleen Hewitt was in it too
@@pollyanna1112 That was an earlier, 70s iirc, production.
Great voice....can nail any song
John is our living National Treasure...we Aussies just know him as 'The Voice'....great human...great voice...👌🇦🇺😁
If they ever invent time travel tours to see the best concerts from the past, I'll be attending this one! PLAYING TO WIN Live with the MSO is a great one too - it has such a huge amount of energy! Check it out :)
I would attend as well see you there haaaa. I will look into that thank thanks
Oh wow that is Amazing Andrew. I'm just starting to see John's personality joking on stage he's cool
@@CVTECK1 Yeah, it’s a big personality but he seems quite friendly and kind to people. Sucks to be his microphone stand tho
IMO, John is the best singer ever. He skill is phenomenal. Thank you for not constantly interrupting.
The Best voice, and mic stand tricks you could ever see live.. Great reaction 👍
So good!
Yer I thought you had done this one as well. This one is anthem quality. When John eventually goes it will leave a big hole in Australia’s heart just like Steve Irwin.
haaaaaaa I had to make sure few times Pete haaa
Great reaction! Thank you for enjoying and appreciating my all time favourite singer for 50 years, John Farnham! Please watch more of his phenomenal live performances backed by his amazing band!
I love it Debbie
You're right, mate. You could react to the whole concert - or any of his concerts. He's that good. We're all sending him positive vibes for a speedy recovery.
It's great
amen!!!!
I recommend playing to win from this concert, really anything from this concert is fantastic
it's on the list thanks cookie
This song is the unofficial national anthem of Australia 🇦🇺
With Working ClassMan and Great Southern Land!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a wonderful reaction for John Farnham thankyou
He's a Legend Alyn
Oooh! Nice 'Melb'n' m8! 😁
Cheers!
Thank you! Cheers!
A huge song with a massive message, he was, is and always will be the voice, by the way I was at this concert in 1989 as an 18 year old, will never forget it
I was there.
Seriously miss John
John had the ability to draw amazing people around him one whom was David Hirschfelder you can see on keyboards. Musical director, arranger and a composer in his own right a lot of the sound of John’s concerts at this time were a result of their collaboration.
I have been to many John Farnham concerts and I may have been at this one - who knows. The important thing is that his voice is incomparable, it is unique and for it to come from such a genuine down to earth decent person is truly amazing. BTW, if you want to do yourself a favor listen to his version of The Beatles HELP - it is as though the song was written for him.
Farnsey - GOAT. Enough said😊😁❤️🇦🇺👍🏼
