Being a stranger in a strange land is one of the greatest adventures in life. So much more interesting than having everything spoon fed to you by an English speaking tour guide. I love your willingness to get outside of your comfort zone and experience the culture.
I love this style of just story time recap of the days events! Lol. And I especially loved Kara saying "nekkid," definitely a southern thing. If someone is naked, they don't have any clothes on.... if someone is nekkid, they don't have any clothes on and they're up to no good! 😂😂😂
Not to just repeat what others have commented, but after watching every vlog to this point and loving the visuals, etc., watching the two of you describe the Hammam experience was just the best! I like seeing everything, but hearing you share the story was wonderful.
I loved the story at the end! You two are such a cute couple. It’s adorable the way Nate looks at Kara while she’s telling her story. And also I love how you say naked (“nekkid”)!
As far as I can tell, that fruit at about 1:10 is a type of persimmon and definitely not just in Morocco. (Maybe that particular variety of persimmon?) I had persimmons first in Toronto and the Koreans make a fantastic punch with cinnamon, persimmons and other ingredients. P.S. Thank you for giving us the FULL rundown about the Moroccan Hammam bath! I love bathing/spa culture from around the world and I've done the hot springs in Baden Baden, Germany and a Korean spa/jjimjilbang in Queens NYC & DC (including the scrub where, yes, you get the same skin sloughing experience!) and a Russian banya in Brooklyn NYC. The Hammam is the one I haven't had the chance to do yet (along with an onsen/sento) so your play-by-play report was most welcomed!
It is a different variety but it is a persimmon, I did not know you could juice it though. I hate eating them, made my tongue feels like it has fur on it. Mostly we feed it to horses, they really love it.
I watched all the way through because we are in Turkey right now and I'd like to go to a Turkish bath but am a little nervous about it:) lol It sounds very similar. Im glad you had the experience and I enjoyed hearing both sides. -Ash
This was almost two years ago, but I just started watching you recently and am working my way through, I watched all the way to the end. Love your stories at the end. I had to laugh. When you do this sort of thing your vlogs are at their best. I like this stuff so much more than the super luxurious things you get to do.
I rewatch this video at least once every three months, and laugh every time, especially at the way Nate says The Glove with such reverent horror, and at Kara's "So i held my hair... for a long time" xD
Hahaha it is hilarious to know about you guys's perspective, I am glad you guys enjoyed the hammam. The reasons those girls were telling you not to start scrubbing is because you're supposed to let the soap soak into your skin to soften it before you start getting rid of all the dead skin.
@@henidakesian4213 no the soap is washed off before you start scrubbing your skin with the glove. The soap is moroccan olive Black Soap. It's an emollient and it softens the dead layers of your skin preparing them for a swiftly goodbye. The reason why the girls were going bananas saying no to her was because you're not supposed to put soap on the glove. It ruins the exfoliating properties of it by damaging its fibers. But yeah, we go once a week, we shower in between hammams, ans we practice this since we are born and until the day we die.

In October 2019, I went to Morocco and did the Hammam bath as well. Thanks to your video, I made certain to have that experience. I had it done in Rabat and in Marrakech. It was a very good experience. I, too, had that awkward experience when the attendant would start a job and then leave and return to do more. I never understood it, but felt the attendant did not want to be in the hot steamy room while my body absorb the experience between washes. It was worth the experience and it was very cheap; $40.
It might hurt the first time or times but this is very good for skin. It‘s like cleaning sth purely or detox for your body.
