    Excellent video, Chris. The lease on my 16' TLX 2.4 recently matured and I picked up a 19' TLX 2.4 Tech for $7000 off MSRP. One thing I will mention is that the infotainment system on the 18+ TLXs is better. Its less distracting and requires less looking because simple operations are no long buried in sub menus. I've personally always used "Auto" for the climate control so I didn't have to mess with the screen at all. One thing I want your opinion on is the TLXs throttle response in "Normal" mode. Coming from a 14' TSX, the TLX feels lazy and requires more throttle input then I feel is natural. Also in rolling start situations, such as slowing down to make an unprotected left turn across oncoming traffic, there is a second or so of delay from when I push the throttle to when the car begins to accelerate. On both my 16' and my 19', I keep the IDS system set to "Sport" to stop this. Whats your opinion on the overall feel of "Normal" mode as opposed to "Sport" mode for everyday driving?

    • @ChristopherCarReviews
      @ChristopherCarReviews  5 лет назад +1

      i find it is slow to react on kick down on normal and on sport, it is just right. however, i find throttle a bit jerky off the line in sport

    I have the 2016 2.4 tech with 60k miles now and I gotta say I love it, is quiet and good on gas because I drove a lot of miles a year, super easy to maintain I just change out the ATF myself and new tires brakes start to shake so is coming soon, this car compare to my previous 2013 328i is an upgrade because of all the features it had, and I pay less money for this car! And Led jewel eye was standard! While my 328i come with halogens! Is great value I’m waiting for the new TLX or the MDX, I’m pretty sure they will look nice too because the RDX is very good equipped even the lowest trim had panoramic sunroof.

    In December got a 2020 TLX 4Cyl Tech and I have been pleasantly surprised. I was able to get a great lease deal since the next gen TLX was about to be released. I was nervous about only getting the 4Cyl with no SH-AWD but I will tell you what, when the car is in Sport Mode it has just enough power, quick shifts, and the steering in great. Sure SH-AWD would have been great but the payment would have been $100 more and would have increased my insurance by $800+ more year oddly enough. My wife has a 2020 ILX Premium A-SPEC which I love driving but found the ride to be pretty stiff due to the short wheel base and large rims, but with the TLX’s thicker tires, longer wheelbase, and quieter ride I now get the best of both worlds. The 2018-2020 version big upgrades over your car are the front fascia and the addition of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which IMO are awesome. My previous lease was a 2018 RDX Advanced AWD and while the car was a pleasure to drive I hated not having smartphone integration. Overall the 4Cyl TLX is a bit underrated, it’s a lot quicker and sportier than people would imagine.

    I own the first generation of the TLX..2015 2.4 to be precise...The exterior styling is subjective ( I happen to love it)....As of this moment, my TLX has 65,000 km's with ZERO issues...The two things I love about this car are: the transmission + the engine... I have owned many cars in my lifetime (2001 Audi S4 Bi Turbo, 2001 VW GTI 18T, 2001 Acura CL Type S, 2004 Acura TL ...all manual) ..My TLX feels light and nimble and by far the bast of them all. This was never meant to be a sports car to be honest:)....I think it is blend of the previous TL with a touch of a Honda Prelude (if pushed to the limits)..
    I realize that most people do not know Honda Prelude:)...I wish Honda/Acura would re imagine the Prelude:(...anyway, thank You for the review!

    I have the same complaint about my 2018 accord and the infotainment center. If you just want to boost the bass just a tad, you will endure 5 steps to get there AND BACK and your eyes off the road. That is if you’re lucky and don’t hit a bump and hit the wrong key. They really jumped the shark when they felt the need to “innovate” this. My 2006 TL I could turn up any tone needed with presses of the tuner soft button and turning of the tune knob. Both of which I have in the accord, but they didn’t attach the two. If I get into an accident it will be because of the attention that screen demands of me the driver.

      @@anmolrkstr I get 3 to 4 miles per gallon on premium. Premium cost about 12-15% more. Fuel economy, I get 12-13% better gas mileage. Then you think about cleaner fuel meaning less sludge build up, you are at an even point. Then you think of better performance, it's a win win.I had an old Accord which I only put 87 octane and it had a sludge build up. Lesson learned.

  • @jeremypearson6852

    Regarding the premium gas, surely you knew that prior to leasing/buying the vehicle? Secondly, most cars that call for premium fuel don’t actually need them even though it will run slightly better with it.

  • @РоманКрасавчиков-с4я

    If you are reviewing a car, then never talk about design. Your opinion on the design is a very subjective thing and few people are interested. For me personally, this is one of the most beautiful cars and you cannot convince me in any way, because this is a matter of taste, and there is no dispute about taste.
    In your review, I would like to hear about possible problems with this particular car, methods and cost of solving these problems. But thank you anyway.
