For anyone who sees this, Its actually more efficient in the grind to get 3 kills in an F5C over 3 kills in an F14 or F4J, whatever you’re using to grind. It halfs what you’d normally make, so say a 20k rp game will be like 7-10k, however that is still more than what you’d get in any normal tech tree rank 7 aircraft
Yup. I'm even getting in a bombing run before I start dogfighting. That on top of 2 or 3 kills got me to 200k XP yesterday.

in my experience, the f4j makes EXACTLY 30% of the vehicle research that you’d normally make

One aspect you didn't cover is the fact that the F-16A is fucking AMAZING at avoiding SAMs. You will outturn, outmaneuver, and even outrun most SAM systems when given a head start. In my experience, jetting across the enemy spawn, where all the AAs are, at tree top level, and then climbing at a 45 degree angle, you'll be 4km out before they even are able to lock on to you and even further before they fire. You can go up to 1500km/h on the deck, which pisses SAMs off quite a bit cause their missiles just straight up miss due to how fast you're going. You'll only ever die to SAMs when you're dog fighting above the battlefield and can't pay attention to ground fire, otherwise I've only ever died to autocannons.
Italy finally gets a competitive top-tier dogfighter. Many of us thought this day would never come, but we've arrived...
It will be rly painfull to grind without any prems, tho

I'm super surprised that Italy got an F16 before the Av8B, but honestly good for them Italy hasn't had a single competitive top tier in like what, 3 years since the YS was in its hayday? They need it

2:25 I'll have to disagree, before I was watching this video I was grinding for the f16 in my f14, any aircraft that went high I always targeted them over lower altitude aircraft because of how much easier they are to shoot down with phoenixes. They can't maneuver as well at a high altitude and can't dive down fast enough before my aim-54 hits them. Around 50% of the time I scored a hit, much more than low altitude aircraft
6:37 You say that - that it guzzles fuel, but compared to the F-14 it is very efficient! Bringing 20 minutes + the drop-tank is plenty for the standard air RB maps.
All these new jets are cool and all, but could you also do a review on the F-EJ Kai later? With Japan being the sole nation to not receive any new planes this update, I wanna hear your opinion on its new status as a rank 8 and going up against numerous gen 4 fighters. I’ve played it for the past few days and the new 9Ls on it slap, but with more people getting complete load outs on the gen 4 fighters, I don’t know how my experience as a Japan main will progress.
Even though I had a bit of fun in the f16 I feel like the alerions never deflect properly and it only turns somewhat decent but has strong energy fighting.

can someone please help me fix this. ive been grinding with my F-5c and for some reason after every match it says “modification research” even though ive researched everything for it and maxed it out. it takes 75% of my RP every match and instead of getting 15,000 RP, I only get 3,000 vehicle research.

Not even reached tier 6 after several years in war thunder. Now we have tier 8 😁. So maybe in 2024 I get to play F-16 😅

Hey bro you being a youtuber can you express more the need for larger maps for top tier jets? I think you could help explaining why. Im willing to go into discord call and chat about it iv got some good points. There is a thread on forums for the rework of current maps into larger ec size for top tier jets. The biggest issue in top tier currently is that the games only last 2 minutes and are just mosh pits, from the start you are at a defensive from enemy radar tracking and just doesnt allow you to even setup before the game is already over. Maybe you can voice for everyone here guide them to forums and make it known we need this. This should only be for top tier in my opinion. People in 11.7 really love the ec maps, there has been alot of positive feedback in game chats and everyone i know. The poll has quit a big vote as well. I have never felt this so hard of a need since 11.3 but now the hardest ever felt with the 11.7. The bigger maps really do allow peoplw to use tye planes to their potential. We have radar so we can find enemy fast, we have the armament to engage at far, the power to get around very fast. Ec maps in top tier jets is like a buffed up much more entertaining prop game mach. Harriers are very good for ground attack. Id suggest bringing bombs to destroy 1 or 2 bases, once you finish dropping them and destroy the bases, climb and engage enemies for some kills.
Finally now i can have some ace combat with my war thunder
Tankenstein, how are you firing the mavericks from 3rd person? I've never seen them lock onto a target like that and when I use the camera mode they provide, I can never tell if they're locked onto the target or dirt. (either way, I seem to always miss my target).

You just need to press the space button. There will be a small square and you need to put the enemy tank that you want to lock in it. When it’s lock, you press space again and it will launch the missile. It’s a lot easier when you are close to the enemy, but the camera is better when you want to shoot long range mavericks.

What’s the difference between the F16A ADF and the normal F16?
Why are the stat cards different if they are the same?
ADF is a block 15, which is a variant upgraded for use with Radar missiles, like Sparrow and Amraam's. Other normal F-16A's are a block 10, which were upgrades to first series of F-16, improving air to ground capabilities, mounting GBU-12's, AGM-65's etc. Same planes pretty much for most people just different use
Aside from the Rank differential SCREWING your RP into the dirt, the AV-8A has been the best thing to grind out the F-16 for me so far.
Either a Base, or, 2 to 3 AI Ground Targets and 1-3 Air to Air kills nets me more RP and Lions than my F-14, F-5C and F-4E ever have.
The AV-8's ability to get way high up really fast is probably more useful to than the good flight preformance of the F-5C

One of the BEST engine performances in the game on a Plane for Plane basis, much better Missiles with more range, a scary turn due to Vectored Thrust, 30mm go Dak Dak Dak, and a SHITLOAD more Flares and Chaff.

Climb to 25,000 feet or more, pick an SU-7, A-5C, F-4C, MIG-21 or SU-22, and roll over to get above and behind. Roll the Plane to launch the AIM-9G on a better A.O.A, and fire at about 4-5.5km or so. I've gotten a few 6km+ kills with the 9G.
Rinse and repeat.

I believe there the exact same the ADF variant has aim7 and the other is ground pounder
They are identical aircraft in flight performance. Both use the F-100-PW-220 engine and have identical control surfaces and wings. Visually the ADF has the IFF antennas on the front and a small change to the tail structure but they are the same otherwise. They both use the AN/APG-66 radar. The differences are only in the loadouts. They both can use the AIM-9L on stations 1,2,3,7,8,9 and a centerline drop tank. But the ADF can mount AIM-7M on stations 3 and 7 and has no air to ground weapons. The F-16A (Block 10) does not get AIM-7M but has a full suite of air to ground weapons (Mk 82, GBU-8, MK-84, BLU-27/B, FFAR Mighty Mouse, and AGM-65B).

So I’ve already spaded the ADF and am working my way through the mods on the standard A variant. Overall, they’re almost identical with a noticeable edge to the A variant in the amount of Gs I am able to hit in high speed maneuvers. I think I prefer the ADF in air RB due to the sparrows and their added utility, to the point that I’m willing to give up the (very) slight edge for them.
agm-65 is not one of the best air-ground since its dmg is so hitt, miss or tickle. id rather have tv bombs, or x-25 missiles on the mig-27k
I can see more advanced Jets coming within the next year. Do you think it’s worthwhile to research down the different lines of the tech tree? Or should one just go for the jet they want asap?
Biggest question of the update: If the Mirage 2000D is rank VIII, why was the 2000C not moved to Rank VIII like the F-14A and F-4EJ Kai?

They give players 30 days to grind them. They will be added to rank VIII in a little less than a month

When i got this the other day it felt like a small version of a 104. Heard they nerfed the crap out of the flight model.
I also managed to reverse multiple F-16s, F-14s, and even a MiG-29 in my J-8B.

They gave it its irl gs limiter. Every single other plane have fake ones, that’s why. It feels like a brick, but it’s actually insane irl.
if you slow down with airbreak before or in a turn, then you can turn as well or nearly as well as other rank 7//8 planes.

Are we talking about the same F16? The one I know has a 9G limiter and can’t out turn anything? I agree with everything else but unless I’m missing something I cannot turn very fast what so ever
It is very maneuverable but the higher speed means the FCS limits the pull to account for the higher g load, that's why it can snap it's nose on anything when going below 800kmh
Kinda surprised at how well gaijin did it's flight model
It has a realistic g limit, meaning at higher speeds you hit that limit in a MUCH shallower turn compared to at lower speeds you can turn with the best rank 7 and comparable to other rank 8's

The italian F104 is not that good, you can get way more for the 70€

The chaos of top tier means it really doesn't matter what plane you are flying honestly. So long as you have a load of missiles you can do just as well as anything else. I haven't had a single game in the F-16 last more than 4 minutes one way or the other.
if I may say, the f4 was the first true multirole aircraft.
It wasn't as good in a CAS role hence why the A-10 was developed in the 70's, was still a very good fighter once American training improved

The thing can still rip a team apart with the absurd amount of ordinance it has and the ludicrous amount of thrust basically ignores the weight and drag of whatever you throw on it

That's why I'm considering quitting this game lol, I have a life to live and I'm not in the mood to grind for months to get a digital plane that in 6 months won't even be as competitive anymore. Grinded the F-14, wasn't fun. Grinded the M1A2, that was even worse. Not interested in grinding the M1A2 SEP or F-16, F-15, F/A-18, F-22 or F-35 even. Sure I want the vehicles but I don't want to spend months getting each one.

I still think f14 is king i've played chinese technically the best f16 since 30x more flares nothing matters against those 6 sparrows that radar they control high alt only way is to get f14s to ground clutter them. if not bvr still team wipes

J7E can outrun these missiles at high alt. Use the great flight performance it has. Plus PL5Bs have incredible range and are all around great missiles.
@@girl_twink if you can get behind them or in a dogfight yeah but just the initial engagement j7e or any other jet with only rear aspect missiles will suffer. It’s true you can dodge their missiles but not when three or four of them are coming at you. You can let your teammates go in first but I find that really boring to play.

Anybody else having a problem with downloading user skins?
My main issue with it, is that it turns like shit. Everything in the game will runs circles around the F-16 in a dogfight, and that is so horribly incorrect. The only chance you have, and it's a small chance - is to dump the throttle, open the air brakes, and get yourself so slow you MIGHT turn with the enemy.
Idk what you mean by the F-16 is more manueverable. I'm pulling 8g's when the enemy is pulling 12 at the same speed. That's a 50% tighter turn than the F-16, and it shows. I'm about half way thru a turn by the time enemy planes already swung around and have their nose on me.
turn at slower speeds, as turning at any fast speed means you hit the g limit in very shallow turns. Inversely if you turn at slow speeds you can make really quick turns with the same g limit
Is the mig 21s good Premium plane?
its not as great as an f5c or su25k for basically the same prize but its pretty good if you like the mig 21s
The new MiG-23ML is a better option.
It has very good performance, but the weapons loadout isn't that great for 9.7 as it carries only R3Rs and R3Ss. If you do want to get it, I recommend just using all R3Rs and getting them off the rails asap, (of course only if they have a chance of hitting) then just clean up any others with the GSH23, which is a pain to aim but you will get used to it. Overall, the MiG-21S is not a bad plane, but it is also not meta, so I only recommend you get it if you love the MiG-21 in real life and just want to have one in-game.

With anything War Thunder, if the question starts with "should you grind it" the answer will always be no.
play the aircraft you have fun playing with and get DCS if you really really want an F-16 experience
Really sad that the new premiums are nearly the price of a full fidelity dcs module...
Not everyone wants to play dcs tho. So the grind is worth for some of us.
@@Spoobs i know that, dont get me wrong, saying "just play dcs" is such a dumb response to complaints, i just find that dcs is much more affordable for the quality of what you get
@@NovaNeedsTherapy I agree, the full fidelity modules are full of content, A2A, A2G, SEAD, etc. And the planes aren't even that hard to learn, it usually takes like a week to learn all the systems in your plane and you get really authentic flight models.
The F-5 and the MiG-21 are super simple modules, and playing them on the cold war server has been so much fun, not even close to what WT top tier is.
Buy the modules on discount though, plus you get 50% off your first purchase.

Sadly the video is allready outdated heavily. AFter the change that maps are massive the 19 km radar and the lack of mid range BVR weapons make this one of the worst planes out there and should be either getting better missiles or should be put at a lower BR. Every Phantom outperforms it in any Air to air role besides very close combat. (Something you dont want to be in after the 16vs 16 update)
Everybody is playing RB and almost nobody supports sim mode so gayjin decided to bring rp rewards to the ground sad
You need to redo this video for the live server version of the f-16. it can't maneuver above mach1, and below mach1 it will barely turn if using the afterburner. It is quite possibly the worst top tier plane aside from having good missiles. f-14 and MLD will regularly get inside of the f-16 turn circle and gun it down. The only time it get's this "incredible" performance you speak of is either sheer speed in a straight line, or if turning below 250knots, which we all know will get you killed just for being so slow.
These variants can't carry amraams only block 25+
The block 10 was retrofitted with the wing structure and wiring to be capable of using aim-120s
