Dear Marcie the design of your backyard is really smart. Regarding the wood stain from acorns check how it reacts with bugs, especially wood eating bugs just to be on the safe side.

Gorgeous stain color. I really like it. Makes the pine look well aged.

Fingers crossed once you build the back wall the neighbour can't reach through. Can you move the garden tap away from her reach. So cool you are using your own natural acorn varnish. 👌

In monastic times I think oak galls, made by a parasitic wasp I think, were roasted and crushed and added to water to make the ink used on vellum

      Interesting.

Yes, the Declaration of Independence in the USA is written with ink from oak galls.

I hate to burst your bubble but it looks like ANYTHING you will do there will trigger her up. Make it any way you like it (and it's legal), up to the height of the already built side wall, take pictures of it done, and then get a restraining order. Make sure you have set a camera to watch over the fence so that you have proof of any "misbehavior" on her part. End of problem.

Just thinking to pop some of the stained boards in the sun to see if over time they get darker or lighter.

The colour is gorgeous. Any further water ‘spillages’ in the back yard?

I’ll find out on Thursday when I go.

Would it be easier to apply the Acorn stain, with a roller on a long handle, finishing off missed areas with a brush. Hopefully this will be less painful on the head and shoulders. Love your videos.xx.

I think I’ll use a cloth. Long rollers are a big NO for me!

I know you must have answered this back whenever you had to go to court, but why can’t you have a wall?
On the wood, is the ceiling wood the same type of wood as your samples? The latter look lighter.
I think making your own stain from your own acorns is perfect! It’s a nice salute-a House That Acorns Built type of thing.
You need a platform like Michelangelo used with the Sistine Chapel. 🤓

My last sample piece of wood is the same wood, same pest treatment and same exact place of residence as the ceiling wood these last few years. What I see on the sample should be what I get for final results.

I am sure you might have a product which is natural and there are people who are very sensitive to any kind of chemical so would welcome natural stain, there must be market for it😊

What about ants and other bugs. They will love the syrup🫣 My other thought was that does it make the room dark compared to light pastel color

Acorn Extract actually repels insects, it is pure tannin.

@@lifeingreece RUclips does that ... where that wall ends put a door with a key and behind that wall put your bins...that's what your neighbor deserves ... and btw put a lock on every single bin and easily close the general water pump from inside your house every time you are away
