What a wonderful interview!!! And this Rick Archer is an awesome host!!!! He let Gary lay the ground and then was there to ask good questions, together with the questioners at the end. Gary was focussed and open to answer freshly instead of using the same words and phrases over and over... I love this interview, it is rich and juicy. I like the way of "forgiving" = remembering that it's our thoughts showing up outwardly in this dream, ready to be awakened with all encompassing love. THANKS you guys! With a smile from the Swiss Alps
Thank you Rick and Gary, a wonderful interview... Gary's clear, precise, and heartfelt teachings based on ACIM are always interesting and "eye opening", especially when mixed with his humor and obvious love for his chosen path. As always, with love...
Thank you for this! Gary is wonderful! I love his trilogy and that his material is consistent with Dr. Ken Wapnick's books, and that they ultimately are both consistent with ACIM. Best ACIM teachers ever! :)
Thank you Rick and Gary and the girl who asked the great questions. I think it's so refreshing, to have a teacher who isn't claiming to be enlightened, just a student and on the path, like most of us. I loved the questions because I also often find it extremely difficult to forgive, and I'm particularly wrestling with something right now and the answers were so helpful.
Thank you for this interview. This interview reminded me about the judgement that I held on Gary before. What a perfect opportunity for my own forgiveness lesson about the judgement that I've had but forgotten! Gary is not yet awakened, and there's nothing wrong with that. He knows and teaches the Course concepts very well, but that doesn't mean that he embodies the Course teaching. Studying and knowing the Course itself doesn't cause awakening but definitely loosens the grips of the ego. The Course constantly reminds us that it was written to the ego mind so we can hear where we believe we are. In the end, it reminds us that we need to let go of everything, including the Course. Here's the lesson 189 from the Course: “Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.”
hello rick i have just seen amit goswami batgap and was well excited to watch it only to realise its on in 102 days lol i hope i remember because amit is one of the most amazing people i have ever heard, i can't wait for that one rick.
Gary, your informations are clearly for the most advanced. I tried to speak them in and around my environment but only a pinch of people were even interested----Just like the registered LIKES on this link. I guess the holy spirit has many different ways in awakening us because the seemingly separated spirit is definitely not a pretty state to be in. Thank God this is not the eternal!!!
Mr. R. I started a year ago channelling over 3 months writing thousand word blogs from a to z until igot to r for resistance..... i was then led to ACIM and do the lessons on my channel , on 58 now...... i bought the book a decade ago and thought WTF is this????? Now it feels like i wrote it..... The reason i am connecting with you now is i dont believe in coincidence and before this message, you or your name came up quite randomly 3 times in a row....... i dont even know why i am writing, perhaps you do..... Blessings, Hen x

The Course in Miracles process' of forgiveness seems very similar to the 'Who am I?' teachings of Ramana Maharshi. Like a pause button that allows personal thoughts to be absorbed in the Self. The Course, teaches a targeting of negative thoughts and asks for the application of love to negative thoughts and an understanding that they are just that. Ramana Maharshi teaches that' Who am I?' can be applied to any personal thought. The Course also talks about God entering the still mind as Ramana Maharshi talks about the realisation of the Self coming from the cessation of external projection. Ultimately one truth.
Spiritual attainment is not a thing to be brought before people to prove that it is real, or as a show. What is real is proof in itself, what is beyond all price or value does not need to be made much of before people. What is real is real, and the precious is precious in itself: it needs no explanation, nor pleading. The greatest lesson of mysticism is to know all, gain all, attain all things and be silent. The more the disciple gains, the more humble he becomes, and when any person makes this gain a means of proving himself in any way superior to others, it is a proof that he does not really possess it. He may have a spark within himself, but the torch is not yet lighted. There is a saying among the Hindus that the tree that bears much fruit bows low.
-Course of miracles book - successfull means new set of problems, not problemless - i am not separate from god - change projector on screen - awakened from dream, dre dissapear and we face reality (oneness) - whorld is not done to them, but by them, so we are not wictim of force outside of us 14:00 - in distress, change reality - there is only 1 mind all others are egos - prod.practice until not get wrong vs amateur (until get right) - less guilt bcs not sepsrate from god (we as forms all go at same place, either good/bad) - 50:00 body, no hurt no suffering (fue to mind)
As to how many enlightened people are there in this world can't be seen by the Unenlightened mind. However when you wake up you can see who Is enlightened, which is everyone except most cant see it for themselves yet. It has to be an experience which is not of this world. It's like the halo is so dropped before the eyes that it is causes the world. When the halo drops below in some cases above the eyes all is seen truly. There are no questions after that.
Why do I feel stress and worry at the level of thoughts? ...perhaps, I don’t really know how to think well… What makes me think the way I do? My beliefs… What are my core beliefs that make me think the way I do? I truly exist as entity. I exist in time. I extend in the past and the future. I am the one who lived 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago. It will be me who will live 10, 20, 30 years from now. I need to live. I need to survive. ________I should be happy. I shouldn't suffer._______ I am largely separate and independent of the universe. I largely have a truly independent choice and a freedom to choose. 8. My thoughts are truly my own. I am really their true origin. My thoughts are independent of my genetics, gender, the condition of my body, hormones, my age, education, upbringing, environment, society and of what I ate, drank, saw or read. 9. My thoughts are really true. 10. I truly know what is good or bad. I truly know what should or shouldn't happen. 11. The universe should truly like and care for what I think, feel or say. 12. People should like, love, adore me. People should agree with or like or respect what I think, say or do. What happens if the above beliefs drop? Thinking changes. With the change in thinking, how I feel changes. What happens the belief “I should be happy” drops? The resistance to unhappiness, sadness, suffering drops. With the drop in resistance, the intensity of suffering drops. With the drop in the intensity…
Kwistenbiebel200 Sure, brother :-) But, have you ever seen BK or the work question the following beliefs: 1. I should be happy. 2. I shouldn't suffer. What happens if you truly question these two :-)
He just would not answer your questions ,Just bla bla bla .I read his book many years ago .It's going in the bin :D I got bored half way of listening ,No emotion ,no connection. We are living in a world with a body and our emotions are important ,never mind skip to "I forgive you " unless you know what forgiveness really means ,smash them pillows when you're angry ,cry them tears when you're sad .Love is unconditional exceptance and so is forgiveness .Well done Rick I like your amazing work and dont think I have ever commented before :)
Is suffering an integral part of the human life? I am still waiting to meet the first truthful, honest person who has never suffered. What should I call a phenomena that seems to be true for 100% of the people (OK... ...maybe, 99.99%) - optional?
TOA (Transmission of Awakening) Is that good or bad? I was waiting for him to pause. I finally realized he wasn't going to, and that I'd need to interrupt to get in some questions.
BuddhaAtTheGasPump I don't think it is bad. I think it is OK to let him speak if he has a lot to say and if he is a good speaker. He did have a lot to say and he does speak well.
TOA (Transmission of Awakening) He does. My only concern was that I didn't want him to spend the whole time saying things that he's said a thousand times, that people familiar with him will already have heard. I wanted to break it up a bit and question some of his terminology and assumptions. Hopefully I did that, but I feel I could have done it better.
BuddhaAtTheGasPump I think it is OK to give guests enough room and space to freely express themselves. They are the stars of your show and you are graciously giving them the stage to shine. It doesn't necessarily have to be a debate.
BuddhaAtTheGasPump I think you do a great job. I think you can start trusting your audience far more than you currently seem to do. I feel most of your audience is likely more mature than you might realize. Many of them likely have already read Tolle, katie, Ramana, Niz, Papaji and likes. Once you start trusting them more, I think you would begin to relax more and the qualities of interviews would likely improve even further. That said, I think you already do a great job.
hello rick i was wandering if you have ever heard of fr richard rohr the fransiscan monk. he is a great teacher. if you haven't heard of him check him out it would be great to have him on your show.
+BuddhaAtTheGasPump wow Rick i will keep my fingerscrossed you get an interview with him. i think he speaks about things in a way that is more understandable to most people. Like i said i realy hope you get the interview no doubt it will be your best one.
Not liking suffering, looking to end suffering, looking for a way out of suffering… ...is the main reason behind the continued, prolonged suffering. The way in is the way out. They way of out of suffering is through stepping willingly, lovingly, knowingly into the suffering. See suffering simply as integral part of the life. Look to fully experience it. Look to fully love it. Look to willingly step into it and the suffering itself changes. The resistance to suffering is the main suffering.
Friction is a result of struggle and resistance. Friction is a reality. Suffering is a result of the mental struggle and resistance. Suffering is a reality. There is an inherent friction in the movement. There is an inherent suffering in the movement for the survival. There is an inherent suffering in the movement of life. Ask a mother giving birth. Suffering in an inherent reality of the mental life. Ask your medical bills. Ask your house bills. Ask your salary paying boss.
Friction is a rule of the movement. It is necessary for the movement. It can be less or more. You understand it. You learn it. And, then you use it. Suffering is a rule of the mental life. It is necessary for the mental progress. It can be more or less. You understand it. You learn it. And, then you use it. The society already uses it knowingly or unknowingly. Ask the teacher who gives you D or F on tests. Ask the interviewer who fails you in the job interview. Ask your boss when you he gives you bad performance review.
Once you understand suffering and its necessary place, once you truly accept it, you can look forward to it a similar way that you look forward to brushing and flossing your teeth. You look forward to it as a necessary and useful part of life. You embrace it in a similar way that you embrace brushing and flossing your teeth or doing fifty pushups a day. Once that embracing of the suffering truly happens, the resistance to it drops and the need to “move beyond it” drops.
The question to ask, investigate, contemplate and sit with is: What happens to the suffering if I don’t mind suffering? What happens to the suffering if I no longer see it as an enemy? What happens to the suffering when I start it as necessary, useful and integral part of the mental life? What happens to the suffering when I look forward to it? What happens to the suffering when I love it? What happens to my spiritual search… ...when I become perfectly fine with my suffering? What happens to my spiritual search… ...when I become perfectly at peace with my suffering?

I find "entertainment" a very interesting and revealing phenomenon. Why would someone truly interested in peace... ...look for "entertainment". As far as I know "entertainment" is more about "excitement", "ups and downs"... ...and, yes, "hormones" and less about real calm, quiet, silence and peace.
Why would someone stand in the line, wait for the show to start and then spend hours watching a movie full of loud noises, twist and turns, ups and downs, violence, cheating, headaches, scary scenes and momentary happy moments - if all one truly wanted was - peace, silence, quiet, calm and happiness? Same goes for video games. Same goes for watching sports - live or on the TV. Same goes for the TV shows and the live shows.
Next time... ...you find yourself engaged in an "activity", or wanting to engage in an "activity" - ask yourself - am I truly doing it for "peace" or for "experience" ?". Your true and honest answer to that question shall reveal what your "real" priorities truly are.
D.: Taking the first part first, how is the mind to be eliminated orrelative consciousness transcended? Bhagwan Sri Ramana Maharishi : The mind is by nature restless. Begin liberating it from its restlessness; give it peace; make it free from distractions; train it to look inward; make this a habit. This is done by ignoring the external world and removing the obstacles to peace of mind. D.: How is restlessness removed from the mind? Bhagwan Sri Ramana Maharishi.: External contacts - contacts with objects other than itself - make the mind restless. Loss of interest in non-Self, (vairagya) is the first step. Then the habits of introspection and concentration follow. They are characterised by control of external senses, internal faculties, etc. (sama, dama, etc.) ending in samadhi (undistracted mind).
Gary's suggestion that god is perfect love, and removed from the operations/orchestrations of the world, is suggesting that there is "something" that exists "outside" of God. My experience is that God is everything and nothing at the same time. God can be "this" AND "that", "either" "or" "both" and "nothing". I'm not sure if we can place a limitation to God and say God "is" only this or "only" that. So, even by Gary's definition, wouldn't the false reality/projection caused by the ego also be God? How is he able to draw a line in the sand and say God is "this" and "this" only? How could be possibly know that? Or perhaps he's suggesting that God is "aware" of everything in the universe but is "not" everything in the universe except for "perfect love". Doesn't make sense? What do others think?
+jakensprawler Hi there. I liked your comment and feel pretty much the same. I struggle along as we all do but something which comes to me again and again is that though it seems we cannot avoid it we eventually have to accept that speculation can only take us so far. This is what authentic truth-aimed meditation methods teach - that we have to go beyond speculation. Many seem to think they know but clearly do not. Can one ever really KNOW? Well that's for each of us to decide and in my case I believe there are those that really do. In the meantime whenever I hear someone speculating I know that they do not know.
Gary Renard has made the statement that humans only use 10% of there brains. And that dolphins use 20%. These statements have no scientific basis. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_percent_of_the_brain_myth Where did Gary get this information? From the movie Lucy.
At 56:00 - Anger is never justified. What about the often mentioned incidence of Jesus kicking the tables of the money chargers in the temple? What was that for? biblehub.com/matthew/21-12.htm Always emphasized - forgive, forgive, forgive... Was kicking tables of the money chargers really an act of forgiveness?
TOA (Transmission of Awakening) I always interpreted kicking over the tables as skill in means. Skill in means is the ability to bring out the spiritual potentialities of different people by statements or actions which are adjusted to their needs and adapted to their capacity for comprehension. I don't recall any mention of him feeling anger during his action? But, perhaps he did.
TOA (Transmission of Awakening) no, jesus was practicing for soccer. the balls were really hard back then b/c of poor technology. so he kicked table to strengthen his feet. was totally taken out of context by gentile authors who didn't want people playing soccer on sabbath instead of church. trust me
'MY DEFENSE AGAINST 'TRUTH' AND MY CALL FOR HELP' NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON coming soon i am working to get together a coherent resource website for people who have been severely damaged by the works of THE COURSE IN MIRACLES. and GARY RENARD in the meantime if you have had serious mental health problems on the scale of schizophrenia, psychosis denationalization and derealization and other serious body dissasociation issues very much including serious suicidal ideation if you have had any of these very very serious side effects after serious immersion in the above books then please email me at matthewstollar@gmail.com. persons who's only vibe is to attack any one who disagrees with gary renard need not email as i will just delete any rants/attacks etc. i will try to reply thoughtfully to anyone with a rational opposite opinion to mine and very willingly to anyone who thought that the above books were very useful then gradually found their mental health and self esteem seriously deterioting a few years down the line from the day you first read them matt stollar
Really enjoyable interview. Gary is insightful and I feel this material will be helpful for many people. However, something about his theology doesn't sit well with me. It seems to me that Gary's interpretation of reality is that God didn't create the universe we see before us, but rather the universal ego created it, as it mistakenly believed itself to be separated from God. The offshoot of this is that everything we see is an illusion, and God has nothing to do with our world. I find this a difficult pill to swallow. It seems to me that this kind of theology is an idea in the mind about reality, rather than a direct experience of it. The idea Gary seems to expound is that "my God is pure love, and therefore couldn't have anything to do with all of the suffering in the universe". This seems to me to be a subtle kind of defensiveness. It fosters a subtlety dualistic point of view, with "God" in one area of my experience, and "the world" in a totally separate part of my experience. It may actually be seen as a defending of one's spirituality from the suffering we see and experience every day. I believe that many people may eventually encounter a dryness in their spiritual journey if they buy into this world view. It seems to lack the requisite integration of our spirituality with our suffering and confusion.
*This is my pool of notes which I am gathering during the listening ordeal* which might take a week since I am gone over the weekend. These notes will later be integrated into my rating comment and disappear as a comment of its own: 1:15 - 1:24 What ? _Ascendend_ masters _in the flesh_ ??? Sounds like an oxymoron to me. 4:45 How one thinks determines how one feels ? OK, the horrors of the feelings of a half-burnt baby on the outskirts of Hiroshima after the nuclear blast are due to it prior thoughts althought it isn't even capable of thinking yet ???
Soteriologe "...during the listening ordeal " Hahaha. Yeah, things started out weird with the two people who suddenly appear and disappear and appear again "in the flesh". I don't get it. I listen to about 15 minutes a night as I'm going to sleep (like how I listen to most of these interviews) so maybe he explains these two people in more detail later? I'm going to check out the upcoming guests list right now on Batgap. I'm really not into channellers etc.
Moment of reality. Want an easy way to see how close you are to realizing that the world is illusory and that only God exists, the One and Only Truth? Put your arm over your stove burner (on high), and see how long you can keep that up. You will know then how possible it is for you to withstand Truth. It is not a matter of philosophizing; it is a matter of courage, persistence, and depth, and that should show you what is demanded for that level of realization. (Please no responses on how you once stubbed your little toe, etc.)
I've told you what will happen, anyone stupid enough to do as you suggest will suffer the consequences according to the law of cause and effect,Realised or not, being Realised doesn't mean one can escape ones mental or physical actions, the body has a nervous system to protect itself from harm, you would still feel pain but its still Gods Dream and it seems very real, matter is 99.99999999 empty space, yet it seems solid, that is something only God understands. Realisation at least in the early stages simply means one knows the Ego is an idea, the person is an illusion, its very simple,it doesnt mean one suddenly develops miraculous powers to cheat the natural laws. although there are stories some advanced yogis do amazing things..........but they might just be that, egoic stories. Let me know if you have these abilities and make a video burning your arm off for YT.
+John Smith Actually, I am not the one claiming these abilities. I am the one questioning, if it is a dream, then why not prove one's superior knowledge by putting it to the test? I am trying to see how deep this man's knowledge goes by taking it beyond words and placing it within the realm of reality.
I feel the course of Miracles is questionable at least for me,I had a look at it once and its so big with thousands of pages of script it put me off. I have a friend who is a a big fan of it and he talks like this man,and it gets unreal. Its all talk as far as I can see. I still say the universe of matter is Gods dream, like how can matter that is 99.999999% space, burn or even weigh anything or even be visable? its beyond our understanding. This is Scientific fact not just spiritual teachings. The parallel is when one has a night dream you can still get burnt and feel pain and be terrified yet nothing is actually happening. These COM people seem to claim that because it is a day dream, one doesn't suffer the consequences of injury. To me the day dream is the same as the night dream but it has laws of cause and effect of matter, so called.....the night dream has no matter,it is distorted memories only. There are convincing stories that Yogis can control the day dream....miracles. Maybe they can,but I wouldn't call the COM folk Yogis from what I've seen. They appear to be more like using psycho therapy to help themselves, the ego to feel better, which has nothing to do with Spiritual truth..that there is no ego, no person in there.. thats what I'm interested in, Non Duality, something is running the body and the Universe and its not possible to understand, not so easy as some think. No human mind can comprehend the vast intelligence that is very apparent in the Universe and it cant be written in a book no matter how big !. its beyond the intellect.
On my fifth listen to this Crash course in Miracles. Thanks for reminding me of the text that initiated my awakening. Btw. I see one of my intricate mandalas over your head. Ooh dear, for me this is not too wholesome... (rare for me on BATGAP) - though warmed to him more around the time he is asked of his drinking... towards the end... Being open-minded, i.e. forgoing my initial impressions of distaste/lack-of-fresh-oxygen, I get he 'understands' what other teachers seem to experience and say very well, - 'this is a dream, there is nothing outside the One Self, there is only One of us...you are not a 'human'...' etc.'s... The experience of the non-ego truth is just so much better than anything the world can offer , right, OK... The forgiveness thing, that the CIM uses as its path, makes sense and again, it is what has been worded before.. . OK, But... There is nothing unique, nothing new, no fresh, innocent freedom... that I see that always seems to come through a new humble human awakening... Certain things also didn't seem to ring true for me: The 'your feelings come from your thinking' is also not my actual experience. Feelings are a centre unto themselves, with their own 'mind'... I do not know what he means by 'thoughts', ...wordless thoughts, movements of the mind in infancy, in the womb,, when we are intimate with our emotional states... Nature herself is part-and-parcel what I would call 'God' (rather than the Great Ego's Creation ! Urgh!) Why is it separate? It is part of the-One-Life...? Equally, boy and spirit are not choices; rather they are part of the same whole... As Mr Blake so Passionately went on about! Holy Anger and all that :) Also, surely, if this line of what-happened is followed - after we experience 'separation', surely we will experience Grief more saliently than Guilt. Ok, We are one, but we are also individual agents, however much of a dream thi is thought to be.... So we can have sex (part of our human freedom, and being) but not get angry (also part of this self-same-being) -even the Jeremy Corbyn kind of anger which is passion from the heart against injustice and cruelty - even when we also appreciate or experience that on some level, all this is still a dream? To express passion -we can still know who / what a being really is underneath their ego-identification. In fact, that is kind of hat inspires it... This is new age, spiritual materialism ultimately to some extent,, is it not? I did FEEL this during the first half of the interview... A genuine spiritually-realised fellow or lady for me (which might not be for everyone) is very here, very human, can feel pain, can appreciate the real experience of another, at least the essence of it, as well as being simultaneously beyond all that entirely. Surely, one foot in one of these 'worlds' and the other in the other, is the happiest, healthiest most whole way to be? Perhaps this guy would be OK with this? Surely, the experience of the/our Spiritual Reality is subtle, not easily to see unless one is also there... It is not an 'ideology' you can put into words, in an hour-and-a-half...for you mind and 'feelings' to believe/switch-into & then ride... I am not talking of the person/character of Gary Renard, nor saying he is essentially wrong/deluded/bad... I think he is genuine (sincere)... and is on to something Perhaps this guy works for people, but not me :) For those who are arguing with people here, I suggest listening and reflecting on Rick's words around 1.57-8... Until we experience what we think we know, let us try to remain open-minded and respectful of one another
MY AIM IS TO UTTERLY DISCREDIT THE WORKS OF GARY RENARD AND THE COURSE IN MIRACLES 'MY DEFENSE AGAINST 'TRUTH' AND MY CALL FOR HELP' NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON coming soon i am working to get together a coherent resource website for people who have been severely damaged by the works of THE COURSE IN MIRACLES. and GARY RENARD in the meantime if you have had serious mental health problems on the scale of schizophrenia, psychosis denationalization and derealization and other serious body dissasociation issues very much including serious suicidal ideation if you have had any of these very very serious side effects after serious immersion in the above books then please email me at matthewstollar@gmail.com. persons who's only vibe is to attack any one who disagrees with gary renard need not email as i will just delete any rants/attacks etc. i will try to reply thoughtfully to anyone with a rational opposite opinion to mine and very willingly to anyone who thought that the above books were very useful then gradually found their mental health and self esteem seriously deterioting a few years down the line from the day you first read them matt stollar
Exactly when did you become truly smart and wise? I see dogs chasing squirrels, cars, balls, waves and sometimes... ...their own tail. I wonder why they do that. I wonder if they truly think catching tail is going to give them "peace", "happiness" and "love". Scientists say that it is just their "nature". They don't seem to have a real "choice". I see human babies and kids run after this toy and then that. Teen age boys and young men see dreams, in the dreams they see a beautiful woman and they experience "automatic" arousal. I wonder if they truly made a "conscious", "well thought", "reasoned", "wise", "intelligent", deliberate decision to do so... ...because, they truly thought this was going to give them "peace", "love" and "happiness". I see human teenagers run behind sex, entertainment, drugs. I see human adults run behind entertainment, sex, shopping, video games, movies, beer, stuff and more stuff... ...exactly, when you truly moved beyond "programming" and "conditioning"... ...and, started making deliberate, conscious, well-thought logical decisions moment to moment..... ...based on your "logic" of what can potentially give you "peace", "love" and "happiness" :-) Even now, sometimes, I see a young, attractive, beautiful, sexy lady dressed in revealing clothes... ...I seem to experience automatic interest and attraction. This "interest" seems to arise even before I had time to think, even before I was aware of a thought. ...I wonder if I truly made a wise, intelligent, well-thought, deliberate decision to do so... ...because, I truly thought it was going to give me "peace", "love" and happiness...... ...or, if it is just my "hormone driven" male programming ;-)
why cant the acended being show themselves to everyone. would't that be more effective way of conveying message than having someone to write down in human language which is full of flaws and inefficient(human communication is primarily not based on word but budy language and various gestures). why choose to write book in one language? i mean wouldn't math be better language to choose than english which is hard to translate to non-english speaker anyway.
Joetize T That seems to recede ever more into the background. Sociologists and religous historians would have a ball with this since I believe that what we are witnessing is a socio-economic process of generating a new myth, the negotiations of a new common narrative, that is a mainstream religion of how to justify that this existence has purpose within the constraints of non-rebellion - anything to avoid actually going for revolution, now that we have secured for ourselves a cozy place to meditate. In that scenario, actually presenting grass roots spiritual insight is counter-productive since it tends to foment discontent further: "how is it we don't get it if this guy really didn't do anything to deserve this". So we need a lot of blather telling us it's alright to slave on, and pile a spiritual slavery on top of our economic one. And if we are discontent, it is our fault because our agony *is* the love of god which is torturing us for our own good. Any resistance will only aggravate our situation ☺ Mind you, I am actually deriding this even it be true !!! It would be an interesting discovery to find the the very structure of the universe is actually a spiritual kind of fascism.
+advaitanr2 Well, here I am not talking about particular small myths, but about the grand narrative about the cosmos as a whole. Since all the traditional teachings so obviously contradict each other and indeed contradict themselves, our deep archaic desire for "the grand ancestral narrative" of how everything came to be and what it is good for and our desire to feel safe and basically taken care of still desires some new grand, all-encompassing tale. And Rick is vicariously generating it for those other perennialists where I am sort of spoiling the soup with all the critical remarks that make it impossible. Reality won't fit into our minds I say. But I sure am myself interested in hearing top down insights from realizers about it. I am not so much in sympathy with bottom up speculations and placating cognitive dissonance with nice sounding topoi. If cognitive dissonance be the result of contradicting reports by interviewees, so be it, bring it on ! At least then we get to understand that we cannot rely on them or which ones to rely on etc.
Soteriologe Yes,we are creating a new reilgion or world view which is,nevertheless, quite ancient. But the West is beginning to seriously adopt it,just as the Roman Empire adopted Christianity. We have gone over to the other side and are becoming evangelists as new converts often do. We are not ''going for revolution'',but evolution instead.
+glenemma1 May I remark that *it is the west that generated the idea of "evolution", not the east* which is pretty circular in *all* its world views, even if the vedas report some development at the beginning of such a circle. So there is nothing ancient about this Teilhardian view claiming to be perennialist. But that wouldn't be such a problem if this narrative wouldn't suffer from the same problems that all sociologically unifying narratives suffered from: 1. it is basically false, anti-rational, anti-intelligence and anti-individualistic because it is easy to point out the incoherences and inconsistencies and indeed falsehoods in it, yet the individual who is intelligent enough to see this is expected to agree with the sheople who all chime in, 2. therefore it is a much loved instrument in the hands of the plutocracy to suppress individuals at the service of capital. You people think you are contributing to some consciousness change, but as long as you are trying to generate an (always incoherent) all encompassing narrative you are indeed serving tyranny, and that means you are serving the same old same old.
Soteriologe Yes,its a bit like the example I used. The Roman Empire could adopt Christianity because its ''give unto Caeser what is Caesar's'' suited it quite well. The emerging(in the West) perennial world view may suit the current status quo for similar reasons. However,I'm not sure I agee with everything you said above. I will have to think about it a bit more. But you certainly expressed yourself intelligently and thoughtfully, and I thank you for that.
i like the message of trying to forgive what we see wrong with others or the world but i do not personally like all the biblical references , nothing against Gary just my thing i ll have to pass on this interview
+larz hillbot Don’t let your thing get in the way of receiving a message of quite some value. I’d burn every Bible I happened upon in every hotel room I stay in, three nights out of every week, forty-six weeks out of every year, if I could. I’m no fan. If I recall correctly, the few Biblical references that Gary uses are largely from the book of Thomas, a book that wasn’t even included in the official Bible because it was politically inconvenient. That just makes me like that book even more.
We are in the end time, the promised Yamani and messenger of Imam Mahdi to the Shia Muslims, the Mahdi who is born in the end time for the Sunnis Muslims, the messenger and comforter of Jesus for the Christians, the messenger of Elijah to the Jews is here in Irak since 1999. His name is Ahmed AlHasan. Proofs and details for Shia Muslims, Sunni Muslims, Christians, Jews and Atheists here: www.almahdyoon.org/

Fraud! This guy made this whole fucking thing up, and once again my naïve ass has been DUPED! 1hr27min35sec Gary says HE was Arten and his wife Cindy was Pursah. FUcking fell for some more goddamn BULLSHIT! Now, the Course in Miracles itself may be a different story, but I've had it with this Gary Renard character! OR, should we call you "Arten?"
***** Forgiveness has no time limits. Or, maybe you'd like to come get some of these fist-a-cuffs? What the fuck you mean? Do you understand that people see videos on their own timreframe? Perhaps, I seen some shit like, later? And, why it took you so long ot respond to my comment? Maybe it's YOUR fucking problem? Do you even Kung Fu? You need my address?
A *-1.0 on a -3.0 to +3.0 scale. Disclaimers in the first reply to this comment.* Stopped listening at 1:04:00. Inconsistency and perpetual self-contradiction is among the fastest ways of ensuring my BS flags. First he goes on forever to criticize the teaching that the world of duality is illusory, then he himself expounds how this world of duality is not true etc. An ever so obvious attempt of phoney one-up-manship by renaming the terminology of old teachings, thereby copying their meaning into a different wording, then rejecting those same old teachings as "yes very valuable" but not quite up to speed with what you got (from them), and managing this feat by misrepresenting them, and then presenting your own kindergarten version as the higher view than the original. Typically american spiritual salesmanship. There are so many other questionable aspects about this, I am too tired to get into it. In this first hour I have heard nothing that would indicate that interviewing him accords with the stated purpose of the channel. Supposedly encountering materializing and de-materializing people on your sofa doesn't count as a spiritual awakening. He was for this first hour just blathering on endlessly about his ideology. _[For some reason I cannot copy any text into an OP anymore, hence the disclaimers will have to go into the first reply]_
@7strawman lol, funny how that desire not to have ever existed seems to penetrate the former seemingly spiritual aspirations. Same here. I wonder if that isn't _the only_ legitimate motivation that would qualify as genuinely spiritual.

For course students --- this will make you love Gary Reynard again...essential interview...
This was a great reminder. Thank you! It has helped me so much.
Love this interview! I love how he explains the Truth of Oneness! Thank you Rick! Thank you Gary! With so much Love & Appreciation!
Thank you Rick and Gary! I loved Rick's questions and Gary's answers - very consistent with the Course!
Disappearance of the universe and Course in Miracles they both changed my life thank you Gary Renard
thank you, gary. god bless you
I have enjoyed this very much. My church teaches A Course in Miracles, it is a must that is for sure.
I listen to Gary talk forever!
Here's the lesson 189 from the Course:
“Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what God is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself.
Gary gracias por todo lo que he aprendido contigo 🙏🤍
Great interview.
Rick you always ask very poignant questions that I tend to have as well. Thank you for this and all that you do!
What a great interview. Thank you.
Thank You Gary!
Thank you Gary 🍎
hello rick i have just seen amit goswami batgap and was well excited to watch it only to realise its on in 102 days lol i hope i remember because amit is one of the most amazing people i have ever heard, i can't wait for that one rick.
p.s i realy hope it is on live that would be awesome.
Thank God this is not the eternal!!!
amazing insight into my self created cycle.
really good questions by the interviewer!
This man understands. The attituded that makes the real world go round and round...
excellent!
Yay!!! Gary rocks!!!
Mr.
Henrietta, you did write the Course. This is your personal dream, everything in it 'you' made up. I hope this helps.
~ When you follow your conscience ( Holy Spirit ) ~ You are flowing with the river ~ Rather then opposing it ~ When you follow your Ego ~ You are opposing the river ~ Rather then flowing with it ~ When you flow with the river ~ Your problems go away ~ When you oppose the river ~ You create more problems ~
Great.
I love Richard Bach ❤
-Course of miracles book

As to how many enlightened people are there in this world can't be seen by the Unenlightened mind. However when you wake up you can see who Is enlightened, which is everyone except most cant see it for themselves yet. It has to be an experience which is not of this world. It's like the halo is so dropped before the eyes that it is causes the world. When the halo drops below in some cases above the eyes all is seen truly. There are no questions after that.
Why do I feel stress and worry at the level of thoughts?
...perhaps, I don’t really know how to think well…
What makes me think the way I do?
My beliefs…
What are my core beliefs that make me think the way I do?
I truly exist as entity. I exist in time. I extend in the past and the future.
I am the one who lived 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago. It will be me who will live 10, 20, 30 years from now.
I need to live.
I need to survive.
________I should be happy. I shouldn't suffer._______
I am largely separate and independent of the universe.
Kwistenbiebel200 Sure, brother :-) But, have you ever seen BK or the work question the following beliefs:
1. I should be happy.
2. I shouldn't suffer.
What happens if you truly question these two :-)
Hey the guy from Nitra. Acim is now in Czech language.
He just would not answer your questions ,Just bla bla bla .I read his book many years ago .It's going in the bin :D I got bored half way of listening ,No emotion ,no connection. We are living in a world with a body and our emotions are important ,never mind skip to "I forgive you " unless you know what forgiveness really means ,smash them pillows when you're angry ,cry them tears when you're sad .Love is unconditional exceptance and so is forgiveness .Well done Rick I like your amazing work and dont think I have ever commented before :)
you're projecting
WOW !!! I feel you maywell be right .
Is suffering an integral part of the human life?
I am still waiting to meet the first truthful, honest person who has never suffered. What should I call a phenomena that seems to be true for 100% of the people (OK... ...maybe, 99.99%) - optional?
Wow! Rick almost spoke nothing for the first thirty minutes of the interview.
+Sejus Mai He's coming to the next SAND conference. I hope to be able to interview him there.
+BuddhaAtTheGasPump wow Rick i will keep my fingerscrossed you get an interview with him. i think he speaks about things in a way that is more understandable to most people. Like i said i realy hope you get the interview no doubt it will be your best one.
+Sejus Mai Hopefully it'll happen. He and Francis Bennett are friends, and I think Francis has already mentioned it to him.
+BuddhaAtTheGasPump i cant wait for that. Thanks for letting me know Rick.
The question to ask, investigate, contemplate and sit with is:
What happens to the suffering if I don’t mind suffering?
What happens to the suffering if I no longer see it as an enemy?
What happens to the suffering when I start it as necessary, useful and integral part of the mental life?
What happens to the suffering when I look forward to it?
What happens to the suffering when I love it?
What happens to my spiritual search… ...when I become perfectly fine with my suffering?
What happens to my spiritual search… ...when I become perfectly at peace with my suffering?
Don't try to change the projector. You can't. You can only allow...
~ Forgiveness is great ~ But if you except others for how they are ~ And stop judging them negatively ~ Then there will be nothing to forgive ~ Also if you want to change the course of the river ~ Then it begins by changing this moment ~ By being kind in this moment ~ By being caring in this moment ~ By being loving in this moment etc...~ You just need to take care of the moments ~ And let The Universe ( God ) take care of everything else ~
Reverend Eslam I agree with you ~ One can judge the way someone ~ Thinks, Speaks , or Acts ~ As either good or bad ~ But one should refrain ~ From judging a person ~ As good or bad ~ Because a person has the ability to change ~ A person isn’t always bad or always good ~ I’m not sure what you mean about authority over others ~ People are going to do what they do ~ Regardless of what I think about it ~ The only authority I have ~ Is over my own behavior ~
I can understand this phenomenon... ...if "experience" and not "peace" was the real priority for (most) humans.
(sama, dama, etc.) ending in samadhi (undistracted mind).
por favor ESPAÑOL.... Gracias
+jakensprawler Aye, God is surely Everything... The All of all this and the source/the Unseen.
Wonder how much you have both changed since this was recorded 😂
So, Helen is 15 Now. I'll keep that in mind. Hi Helen.
I don't think the man that Gary is explaining this to is grasping it
Gary Renard has made the statement that humans only use 10% of there brains. And that dolphins use 20%.
These statements have no scientific basis.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_percent_of_the_brain_myth
Where did Gary get this information? From the movie Lucy.
Who and what is the EGO??????
At 56:00 - Anger is never justified.
What about the often mentioned incidence of Jesus kicking the tables of the money chargers in the temple? What was that for?
biblehub.com/matthew/21-12.htm
Always emphasized - forgive, forgive, forgive...
J Walt Many people tend to "interpret" what they like, respect and adore... ..."favorably". Is it possible that something like that is happening here?
TOA (Transmission of Awakening) no, jesus was practicing for soccer.
the balls were really hard back then b/c of poor technology. so he kicked table to strengthen his feet.
was totally taken out of context by gentile authors who didn't want people playing soccer on sabbath instead of church. trust me
TOA (Transmission of Awakening) A lot of the stories in the Bible have not been carried through the years accurately.
+Anmarie Uber And, what makes you an authority on that?

if you have had any of these very very serious side effects after serious immersion in the above books then please email me at matthewstollar@gmail.com.
persons who's only vibe is to attack any one who disagrees with gary renard need not email as i will just delete any rants/attacks etc.
i will try to reply thoughtfully to anyone with a rational opposite opinion to mine and very willingly to anyone who thought that the above books were very useful then gradually found their mental health and self esteem seriously deterioting a few years down the line from the day you first read them

These notes will later be integrated into my rating comment and disappear as a comment of its own:
1:15 - 1:24 What ?
+jazzsnare You would still feel illusory pain in the dream, and the body would bear the illusory scars.
+John Smith Are you willing to take me on? Let me know how it works for you.
In "Disappearance" Gary refers to "Karen" as his wife. What happened there? Just curious.
I think he got divorced and married someone else.
On my fifth listen to this Crash course in Miracles. Thanks for reminding me of the text that initiated my awakening.
Btw. I see one of my intricate mandalas over your head. Each created to awaken the remembrance of the Interconnectedness of all-that-is.

Certain things also didn't seem to ring true for me:
The 'your feelings come from your thinking' is also not my actual experience.
Holy Anger and all that :)
Also, surely, if this line of what-happened is followed - after we experience 'separation', surely we will experience Grief more saliently than Guilt.
I think he is genuine (sincere)... and is on to something
Perhaps this guy works for people, but not me :)
For those who are arguing with people here, I suggest listening and reflecting on Rick's words around 1.57-8... Until we experience what we think we know, let us try to remain open-minded and respectful of one another

i will try to reply thoughtfully to anyone with a rational opposite opinion to mine and very willingly to anyone who thought that the above books were very useful then gradually found their mental health and self esteem seriously deterioting a few years down the line from the day you first read them

I see human adults run behind entertainment, sex, shopping, video games, movies, beer, stuff and more stuff...
...exactly, when you truly moved beyond "programming" and "conditioning"... ...and, started making deliberate, conscious, well-thought logical decisions moment to moment..... ...based on your "logic" of what can potentially give you "peace", "love" and "happiness" :-)
Even now, sometimes, I see a young, attractive, beautiful, sexy lady dressed in revealing clothes... ...I seem to experience automatic interest and attraction. This "interest" seems to arise even before I had time to think, even before I was aware of a thought. ...I wonder if I truly made a wise, intelligent, well-thought, deliberate decision to do so... ...because, I truly thought it was going to give me "peace", "love" and happiness...... ...or, if it is just my "hormone driven" male programming ;-)
why cant the acended being show themselves to everyone. would't that be more effective way of conveying message than having someone to write down in human language which is full of flaws and inefficient(human communication is primarily not based on word but budy language and various gestures). why choose to write book in one language? i mean wouldn't math be better language to choose than english which is hard to translate to non-english speaker anyway.
...isn't BATGAP is about own experiences??? Soo much "second-hand" stories in this interview..........."Buddha,Jesus,teachers "said",in the Bible...."
+Haniff Din after more research i understand the metaphors , Thanks
iam 24 mins in does he actually stop talking ? lol

Stopped listening at 1:04:00.
@7strawman Why did you buy that book ?
@7strawman lol, funny how that desire not to have ever existed seems to penetrate the former seemingly spiritual aspirations. Same here. I wonder if that isn't _the only_ legitimate motivation that would qualify as genuinely spiritual.
