Hey, just wanna let you know, I found the reason for the plastic "legs". On Novelkeys there are two types of mount for the switches: Plate Mount - No "legs" PCB Mount - with "legs" For anyone interested in this mod, make sure you pick the correct mount before checkout. Great detailed video otherwise!
@@Gracielline I have now modded my hitbox with the same buttons (Gamerfinger buttons and cherry brown switches). I love it. It looks great and feels great. However, sometimes while playing, a button will become loose and fall out of the stick. Have you had this issue too, and if so, do you know a good fix for it? :)
@@Soul471 hmm never encountered the issue. Is it the whole button falling out, or the switch popping out from the buttons? The first could be it not being snapped / locked tight enough to the casing The second could be the switch cap not tightly pushed into the switch Cherry brown is a good choice, less noise but still have the tactile ones. Ive been using kailh speed bronze so far and loves it!
i tried gamerfinger buttons over a year ago on my hitbox and found that the caps of the 24mm buttons would fly off. the 30mm buttons didn't have this issue.
Weird that she had to mod the mx blues when I had no problem installing my mx browns. I love my directional buttons with Razer oranges, which are like mx browns but lighter, but kailh browns might be even better (even lighter and less travel). I just wish gamerfinger had clear tops for 24mm so I could put artwork in all of them.
The cherries I got were meant for PCB mounting hence they had the "extra legs" for stability, whereas Plate mounting comes with the legs already removed :P Functionally tho they're both the same. Personally after trying a few out I went with Kailh Speed Bronze with only 1.1mm actuation and very clicky/tactile too!
Which colored switch did you find to give you faster hit response? Hitbox is always sold out so I'm building my own from scratch which I'm just learning about lol.
Personally after trying a few out I went with Kailh Speed Bronze with only 1.1mm actuation and very clicky/tactile, I liked it better than Cherry Blue MX as the latter felt "heavier". Though if you're OK with it not being clicky, then definitely go for Cherry Silver (or Kailh Speed Silver) - I can't live without the clickiness XD
Where can I get buttons with art like the ones on your movement buttons? I wish to mod my hitbox and you've given me extreme confidence but I wanna know exactly what to get and where to get it before doing anything recklessly, I also plan on doing some Kazumi art on my hitbox but I want to know exactly what to do.
Hey bori! The buttons I used doesn't have art on them, Moreso some "little patterns" underneath the button surface. Those are all Gamerfinger button caps (as in this video). Foe the kazumi artwork, I printed it via focus attack. You can check out my previous video as well with full step by step in modding it with exact same artwork! There's link to the template I've used (and also discount code!) in the previous video description.
Ohhh ok ok I see, I was asking about the art since the directional buttons have a red background with japanese kanji letters and I got really curious and interested in doing something similiar for my HitBox. I already know which buttons and switches to use thanks to your video, and thanks to your other video where you mod the art now I know how to remove the buttons properly, I already have a friend working on the custom art for me with the template for the HitBox, so I can then send it to Focus Attack and get it done, thanks for replying, if anything I'll let you know ☺
No worries! Interested to see the final outcome of yours :D On the buttons, there's no kanji characters though. It's just some "ring effect" with semi see through effect 🤔
Ohhh okay, I understand, I was wondering how the red buttons had some words and such, thanks for claryfing. I'll make sure to let you have the first look as soon as I finish the modding, I already ordered the switches in advance, I'll order the plexi glass and custom artwork soon, and hopefully the gamerfinger buttons become available soon 🙌🏻
I would say Kailh Speed Silver requires the least pressing force, but I didn't prefer it as much since it doesn't have the tactile feedback. If least force + feedback I would say Kailh Speed Bronze would be to go.
I had the same impression as well XD Initially I went all out with Cherry Blue and really liked their feedback but after a while it feels abit "hard" to press and that's when I compared in depth the two of them, and ended up using kailh on all buttons
Personally I get most of mine off Taobao since they're much cheaper and closer to ship where I am. They don't have all the switches tho, only some of those Chinese brands. Gotta be careful of fake too.

That's awesome!! I guessed there was some logic behind but couldn't figure it out. Thank you for sharing!!
Hope you are going to be playing Tekken 8! Would love some more Hitbox videos! They are literally the most in depth and best ones I've ever seen.
Hehe thank you! Would definitely play Tekken 8 someday, haven't bought it yet though. Thinking to wait for a sale or something :P
This is such a huge help and given me so much confidence to mod my Hitbox now. Thank you very much!
Glad it was helpful for you!! When I first started honestly I was a bit scared but now I truly enjoyed the results! Go for it!

I keep coming back to this video just to listen to those sweet clicks from the blue cherry switches
*tak tak tak tak* :P
Wow, that's a nice work to make a custom hitbox! Congrats!
thank you! ^^ it's an expensive hobby tho!!!
Great Review Gracielline! Kazumi Expert
Ty for the video, u covered everything I was looking for!
You're most welcome and I'm glad it was helpful for you!! 😊
It looks so pretty!
Love this style of video. Hope you do more some day!
Thank you! Might do in the future!
Nice
i tried gamerfinger buttons over a year ago on my hitbox and found that the caps of the 24mm buttons would fly off. the 30mm buttons didn't have this issue.
🤔🤔 Could it be the cap not pressed in all the way on the switches stem? Mine seems OK for both sizes

Let me know if you need any further details, I'll try my best to help out! First time modding was really scary for me as well

Thank you for the suggestion. I was under the impression that Cherry was the way, would have never though Kailh was viable

Now that Cross Up is a thing are you considering switching?
Actually very tempted to give it a try! The only thing holding me back is that I barely play games recently 🤣🤣
@@Gracielline You should, and I watch you stream it. Let's make a deal, you can teach me how to Tekken
aww thank you! i'm definitely not qualified to teach Tekken yet haha. still learning myself (but hasn't played in monthssss!)
Anyone know the best places to buy switches?
Personally I get most of mine off Taobao since they're much cheaper and closer to ship where I am.

hy and nice costomisation hitbox.i whant to know the size of all bouton please
The directional buttons were 30mm; and 24mm for the action buttons
