It may not be readily apparent, but your effort to stage the camera in the barn (presumably through the "rear" door), so as to video your approach to the barn, through undisturbed snow, is appreciated. Thanks for the adventure!
These barns are very idyllic and represent great part of scandinavic history. Excellent short film with coffee break 👍👋 Thanks Erik and all the best for 2023 beginning! Br, Janne/Finland
That video shot across the field during the snowfall was absolutely stunning. For some reason I feel compelled to make a cup of coffee after watching your videos!! Thank You Erik for the movie.
I sat down at my computer with a fresh cup of coffee when I saw the video. Lovely coincidence. Felt like running into an old friend out on the town you hadn't met in a while.
I really appreciate your efforts to name the various creatures that appear or can be heard in your films. Snow flies were completely new to me. I wondered what they ate (the adult form is apparently not known to eat at all, though they do drink from the snow) and how they survived (they make glycerol in their blood). The Wikipedia entry on the Chionea says they are wingless as they'd never generate enough heat to fly, compare the amazing heat generation of the hummingbird hawk-moths (" thoracic temperatures above 45 °C have been meaured"). To be amazed by nature, you have to be out there in nature. Have the best travels in 2023.
The sound of the snow falling was wonderful. We haven't had much snow this winter in Nova Scotia. But we just got a big one, and the trees looked just like that.
The Joy when an Erik Normark notification appears! 😊👏👏👏👏🎉 Best Wishes for 2023 Erik. Erik takes Winter in stride... 💪❄❄❄❄ The calm, quiet and beauty of your videos is greatly appreciated 🕊🙏
Snowflakes . Peace .. Harmony ..Nature. A natural sitting making coffee. That proverbial thumbsup to signify all is well with his world. Awesome snow laden barns of yesteryesr. Yes all was well thanks Erik. Bushyboy Oz.
The old barn is a nice place to sit and have a coffee Everything is shades of white and grey ..and suddenly..a snow fly…never heard of them before Very nice peaceful video..take care and stay warm 🇨🇦❤️🔥❄️
Great to see your first coffee in the snow for 2023. Nature was very quiet about those barns. Looking forward to seeing you more before the thaw. All the very best for 2023 Erik. T. 🇭🇲🐞
I enjoyed this. You've captured that nice feeling of escaping the elements in a basic shelter and having a hot drink to keep you motivated. Makes you appreciate the simpler things in life.
Beautiful snowstorm. I always love to be out while it is snowing. So peacefully quiet! Sad so many buildings have been left to fall down. I see this here in the USA as well in our mountain huts and shelters. I hear that they are going to let many of the shelters just fall to the ground or tear them down. Why, I ask! 😫 Times are changing. Love your coat and pants. Your a man that has great style and looks great in clothes. This from a 76 year old woman. 😃😃😃 maybe you can’t say such things today!!!! It is only a compliment.
I love Old Barn slats or wood pieces because once you clean the algae and Moss and other stuff off of them depending on what the situation is but you don't want to clean the patina off of them and then you can cut them and miter them and turn them into picture frames and once you put a sealer on the wood so that you don't ride anymore they're just beautiful really old wood and has a nice weathered age look to it it's very beautiful it's great for putting like bird pictures into or sunsets you know country type stuff into them
Just love these short films. So relaxing to watch and also interesting as I live in Sydney, Australia and we will never experience conditions like these.
Happy New Year Erik! Cheers! as well! The barn is on its last legs, has it makes a brave last stand. The process of aging is a two sided observation. The story of what once was, and has it fights off the snow, the barn has its purpose to be understood by you, and time. Peace!
fantastic how fast you get the ring in the triangle! i also adapted your push-one-corner-in-technique but in 100+ tries more i perhaps can do it as smooth as here too ;)
tip: you can press the white button on top of the alcohol bottle, before you screw it shut again to let the excess alcohol in the bottle again :) Other tip: coffee is a holy moment.. oh wait you knew that..
Erik this was absolutely gorgeous!! It reminds me of my backcountry skiing days in Northern California where i went to forestry school. We would ski in about 2 miles and set up a winter camp and hang out for 3 days dayskiing and carrying on in the evenings. Erik, my skis i used were karhus and i put reusable rubber skins on the bottom of them obviously for uphills. My question to you is, do you use skins on your skis for climbing or do uou have fish scales integrated into the bottom of the skis? Thanks again Erik! NQU
It is a sad thing to see them go. In my country they vanish too so I organise work parties to renovate barns, log cabins and turn them into shelters for hikers. This one is more than 160 years old, if you don't mind here is how we renovated it: ruclips.net/video/-IK0lk5fFaE/видео.html
Eric, do my eyes deceive me or did you get a new pot for boiling your water for coffee ???? I mean it doesn't look brand new but it certainly looks newer than the other one with all the black around it or did you just clean the old one up how long have you had this one anyway maybe my eyes are deceiving me 🤓🤗
It may not be readily apparent, but your effort to stage the camera in the barn (presumably through the "rear" door), so as to video your approach to the barn, through undisturbed snow, is appreciated. Thanks for the adventure!
Every post by Erik is a Holy Moment. Cheers.
This was a great way to start my day. Always happy to see Erik out skiing and providing his knowledge. Thanks again.
Appreciate your efforts to share nature that’s too harsh for us old timers to pursue any longer.

Great videography - love the shot across the open field, through the falling snow, to the old barn with the forest in the background. Well done.
I want to feel the snow, the snow is so enchanting... greetings from the Slamet Mountains, Central Java, Indonesia

The sound while making coffee felt very close to my ear. It felt like the video should have been a close-up (like at 5:26. Loved the texture!)

Thanks Erik
7:34 the coffee holy moments have multiple purposes: bonding with the viewer, warming from the inside (digestive system), thumbs up moment.^^
I am waiting to see you in a multi day hike in some crazy weather condition :)
Gott nytt år, Erik! Tusen tack för den vackra, och lite melankoliska videon. Så mycket snö har ni fått ❄❄❄
God fortsättning på året Paula!

Wondering if you have considered OAC skishoes for more flotation in the deep snow. You can wear regular winter boots as it has an universal binding
👍👍👍 ☕ 👍

I love the deep cold silent snow! (But I am warm and cosy haha!) Are those survival barns for walkers and skiers, Eric or are they for animals?
Hi. They were used mostly for storing hay, and some for animals also.
För första gången var det helt uppenbart att ni var två ute på vidderna, bra microfoner har ni också!⛷
No Gevalia coffee today? 😉 Erik, will you making movies with staying overnight?
❄️☕🌲🌨️♥️
How long does it take for the water to boil?

Interesting to watch! Great work, I wish more people did that!
Hey Erik I hope you are doing well and safe, why don't you do camping in this weather.
Hej!
Hey Erik, I've noticed that you never use liquid gasoline stoves; why is that; seems they would be ideal for your climate.
I just haven't cared to get one as I'm pretty happy with the ones I have :)
:)
Eric, do my eyes deceive me or did you get a new pot for boiling your water for coffee ???? It's the same old pot! :)
Dood…………….
Thank you, Erik!
