My brother just bought a Colorado. I told him this might be a good video for him but I hope not !
Let's hope not, thanks for watching.
What tolerance "by feel" would you say for keeping or tossing a pump body? The scoring on mine can be caught by my nail, but I suspect it not much more than .001 or .002 at the most. Some people are really scared of even the slightest scratch. In your experience, what is the most you can get away with regarding scoring on the pump body?
That is about what the book calls for. Yes some are very picky. I will say I have buffed them out and flat stoned them with great success. A lot of people frown upon that but I say you do whatever works. If it is not making enough pressure after that I put a new factory pump in. Dont forget to put the Sonnax valves in the pump, they are always worn out. Don't forget to pre-load the stator in a clockwise direction. I have a video about it that I am fixing to post. I have had more success doing it that way than using "rebuilt" pumps from WIT. If you do get one from them , you need to take every valve out of it and clean it out. It will be packed full of debris from the machining process. You will also need to buff a 45* chamfer on the pump slide stops, both top and bottom, on the bellhousing side, or it tends to get stuck. Check your stator gasket also, have seen them not replace it. My advise would be to get a new one or one rebuilt from Richard Wardell, he does them correctly. Will have to wait a bit for it and the shipping, but he does great work. He is on RUclips if you have not seen his channel. Had a friend of mine that got his pump built by him.
What was the final price tag for the rebuild?
Have no idea. I don't have anything to do with the pricing. I will say they usually end up between 4 and 6000, depending on the damage.
Какой большой стопоросъёмник )))
Hi, we have S10 model.
Usually those come in leaking out the front. The torque converter hub cracks and that is where the leak is.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission and valve body too!
I don't have a service manual for this transmission. Most of the info I have came from technical seminars or Alldata.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission понял вас! Спасибо!
