  • What do you do when your acoustic drum tracks sound great, except the snare or kick? Did you know you can actually turn a regular audio track into a midi trigger? In turn this can then be used to trigger the sampled drum sounds from your favorite virtual instrument.
In this episode of the show, I'm going to show you how I replace my snare drum sound using the Reaper DAW and Addictive Drums. I'll also tell you about an amazing drum replacement tool that will work in any digital audio workstation.

Can anyone suggest some good VST drum kit instrument plugins? Preferably free! I've been experimenting with a technique similar to this using the REAPER "JS: Audio To MIDI Drum Trigger" feeding the "MT Power Drum Kit" plugin, but I'd like a drum kit plugin with more available sounds, or the ability to import other samples. Thanks!

Im sorry but I like more the original because its a gospel song. The snare you put there sounds more like a 70's snare with no resonance at all. In gospel music thats a signature snare sound. I feel like if you turn up the snare a little bit and put a sample to give it more impact it would be ok...but not replace it. Hey, but thats only me...
