Just bought 2015 F150 king ranch Friday with big tires. It rode rough . Bought Michelin’s thinking that would make it smooth. It was awful. Ruled out vacuum/ 4wd issues. Figured out today, Monday, that it was a bad bearing. Watched your video; called Oriely and they had the hub assembly. I bought it and installed tonight, Monday; it is smooth as butter. Thank you for that awesome video. It took two hours and 15 minutes with an additional trip to advance auto for an 18 mm socket and locktite. It took a huge weight off of me. I didn’t want my wife to find out I had spent all that money for a truck that sounds like he’ll riding down the road. Thanks for the information!
Really appreciated the time you took to make this video. I have an F150 2015 Ecoboost and I think one of the bearings is going out, when I turn right at about 50mph the wheel vibrates and squeels a bit. Gonna check later this weekend, great video!
@@TheDeathCards Any follow up? I have the same issue- 2017 with 97k miles. Right turns make a bit more noise. Almost sounds like loud tires, but increases with a turn of the wheel.
Thanks for the video. I have a brake bleeder but my compressor was at my other house I’m remodeling. When the ignition is off it engages in 4wd. I just placed the hub, held it with my hand and rotated the wheel till the gears engaged then tightened it down. Works perfectly.
You don’t have to pull the vacuum line off.. just turn the truck on and put it in 4high and it will position the ring where it needs to be for installation. Then once it’s in place and the hub is on and torqued put it back in 2 wheel drive.
why do you need the brake bleeder to retract the hub if you only need to start the motor to supply vacuum to the line? Followed all the steps you showed except that and got a good install without the need for the brake bleeder. Great video all in all! Thank you!!!
Than you! I always thought engaging the transfer case switch is what put it into 4 wheel drive. I had no idea there were still vacuum actuated hub locks.
Have a 2017 f150 supercab, loved how detailed your video was, I believe my front driver side wheel is acting up as when I appalay the break it makes a noise I didn't hear before when pressing the breaks, I feela like dealership is messing up my vehicle when I take it in. You seem very knowledgeable, may I record a video of what I'm talking about with my truck to send to you to see if this video info will fix my issue?
I think as long as you line up the 4WD splines you wouldn't need to apply vacuum to get it to go flush. The maintenance manual even tells you how you can tell if the hub is in all the way by measuring the threaded portion of the axle that protrudes through the hub...which should be no less than 0.61".
Hello great video , i few years ago i had a problem , i add spacers to lift truck , at the shop they disconected the vacccum for any reason and when i went for the car i drove a few blocks i and a very noise came , this part was broken , the replace it but i am afraid to put coilovers for the same reason , if they disconnect the vaccum line and put it back it is fine ? Or they need to do the same process you did on this video ? I will really appreciate your answer
I would do it the same way I did it, you also can start the truck to add vacuum while you put it back together so you don’t have to use the tool to add vacuum.
Great Video! I was experiencing issues with my IWE on the passanger side, It would not go into 2wd mode, Vaccum is alright, so I replaced the IWE, but still I will only stay on 4wd mode, could this be due to a badly installed Wheel bearing?
All of these trucks equipped with 4A(AWD) so Lariat Trim and Higher have this recurring issue which the dealer will tell you that all they have to do it replace a check valve in the vacuum like and it’s fixed. However it’s not the case and needs to have the bearing replaced
Man last week ihad the 4x4 on and I was on ice , while Turing I heard a clunk and now the front left drivers side is making a grinding noise when 4x4 is engaged, could it be this ?
Left front bearing noise on my 2018 F150. Still under warranty but cant get it fixed because Ford wont send parts to the dealer. Guess I will have to pay out of pocket and do myself. Am now looking at Toyota Tundra instead of a 21 Ford F150.
Check out my product link below my description in the video for it. You can also just start the truck & it’ll make the vacuum you need to put it back on.

That’s awesome man glad this video helped you out! 👊🏼
What symptoms did you experience? Was the truck wandering at all? In the steering.

Nice!
Just did this job. Thanks for vid. Took me a couple hours w all hand tools. I did crank the engine for vacuum and no errors/lights.
Awesome glad it helped out!
You turned the truck on to pull the vacuum when aligning the new hub? (Instead of his brake line bleeder trick?)
Just did this today. Thanks for the video. Saved me a few hundred dollars 🤙
Awesome, glad this was helpful
Great video. Detailed all the way throw step by step. Nice!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. I just watched your video. I had to do this to my 2019 f150
No problem glad this helped. Thanks for watching
Great video!! Step by step including tips along the progress of the job, I personally live this video you made, thank you so much buddy 👍👍👍
Glad this video was just what you were looking for. Thanks for watching & the support. Please make sure to subscribe.
Great video, thanks for making it available. I think I might have missed a step where you fill the inside with grease before installing the new hub in

Good to know thanks
Thank you, i was wondering that. Will be replacing mine tomorrow
Don't you want to keep in in 2WD so the ring is in? 4WD would push the ring out and not give you the space to mount the hub?
My man! Love knowledge based people that impart information to help others. Great tip because I don't have a vacuum pump.
So you're saying if I put the truck in fort Worth for heart it will pull it in for me and then I can just assemble it and put it together
Hub 129 ft/lbs spindle nut 30 ft /lbs Brake caliper bolts 184 ft/lbs
Thanks for the specs!
Holy crap! My dealer wanted $2200 to do this!
Very well explained. Thanks for the video, I’m about to do the same thing, and I really appreciate this.

Thank you for taking the time to show how to do this. It was very helpful
Had no idea Ford hubs used vacuum. 👍
Great tips! Thank you.
You are so welcome! 🍻
Or does wheel hubs get locked?
Than you! I always thought engaging the transfer case switch is what put it into 4 wheel drive. I had no idea there were still vacuum actuated hub locks.
How long can i drive before its gets locked ?
Wondering if i could just turn the truck on to apply vacuum. Any reason this wouldn't work? Great video. Thanks for making this!
Not sure but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Might throw a ABS light but should clear once everything is hooked back up.
@@JJBanuelos ok, thanks!

Do this hub assembly come with the new speed sensor? And you use the new speed sensor if comes with it? Thanks
Yes it comes with new speed sensor & yes I used the new one as it’s made for that part.
Need to get the Dorman 600-405

Could be vacuum hose or iwe check valve or solenoid as well

@@JJBanuelosI speak from experience here, honestly made me want to switch brands bc I’ve loved every ford I’ve owned up until this point with my 2016
@@promoeditz3934 yeah I’ve owned ford all my life also. They’re quality hasn’t been the best as of late.

Of course! You can also just start the truck to make vacuum instead of using the pump.

Yeah could be this or check & replace your IWE check valve
No bearing grease?
Not needed
My shop wants $1600 to do both front wheels. hahahaha
😂 hopefully this video helps you prove them wrong & you save some money!

That sucks. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.
Man i got a 2017 f150. Same issue. Im considering a Toyota also. Also front driver door dont want to shut, power steering went out. Just junk

Where can I get that vaccum gun?

@@JJBanuelos thanks
I just did this on my 4x4 without doing anything with the vacuum lines.... 😳
Great video. Where are you located? Interested in installing mine while teaching me how to do it? I am mechanically inclined... for a city boy. Lmk!
😂 I’m in the Houston area. Let me know.
Thanks man big help
No problem
Warranty doesn’t cover this?
oversized tires w/ wheel spacers? Likely not
I know u made cuts in the video. How long did this actually take to Install?
Less than an hour. Not hard at all.
Why couldn’t u just reached inside flipped it into 2 wheel and after u tighten then put back into auto??
You could, you just have to start the truck. It uses engine vacuum to keep it in 2wd.
Did it fix the issue?
Yes. 👍
Would not let this guy work on my truck, he lets the brake caliper hang by the hose, look how stretched the hose is.
Sometimes hoses need to be stretched out if they acted up😆. Thanks for watching!
And over torqued the axle nut
