I'm so glad we're peeling back the layers of this fraud. It's my hope though that larger corporations can be the ones who are punished more harshly, I think that is unlikely though.
I love these videos you make Diane so informal you're super intelligent you're a true master of your craft when it comes to White Collar criminal litigation🎉
That money drew out the worst in people. I understand the atty said that $100,000 is the threshold for prosecution but just wait and you'll see smaller sums prosecuted. Folks got sloppy and greedy and went for the money and never thought about legalities. No one is ready for the feds on their case and that knock on their door from the FBI. It is a game changer. People saw the money and saw the opportunity and dove in the water.
Totally nailed the part about getting caught and probably having committed more fraud prior. I have seen it first hand where the defendant in a FCA complaint committed the violation during a class action lawsuit and just felt like they were beyond the reach of justice in those cases they need to throw the book at the defendants!
Same here, funny thing is about 90% of people we reported for PPP and EIDL fraud were all legit business owners who didn't use the funds for business expenses as they should of.
The Southern District of West Virginia had its first fraud conviction related to Covid-19 after a Charleston man pleaded guilty to wire fraud for defrauding the PPP of over $41,666. The man allegedly applied for and obtained two PPP loans based on misrepresentations and then had the PPP loans forgiven even though he had not spent the loan proceeds on permissible business expenses, as is required for forgiveness.
Okay so what about the people who was getting the 20,000 loans they good to go? Shid if that was the case I should have did a loan and got 20,000 back if you wasn't getting in trouble 🤔🤔🤔DAMN I MISSED OUT 😭😭😪😪🤧🤧
If it makes you feel better, I'm someone in the fraud bounty industry and we have a department that goes after those small claims. We have successfully prosecuted a group that made small (less than $50k) claims. Although the claims were small they got the book thrown at them for RICO since they operated with many people over many state lines. They aren't getting out for 20 years 😊 I get a huge justice boner doing this job.
@Yakuzachris10 It been 2 years since them ppl did that...ppl have moved, gotten new phone numbers, got new cars, still working there regular jobs, Did they taxes this year from they're regular normal jobs and living their best lives and nothing have been done to them at all and like I said that been 2 years ago that ppl received that 20,000...they living sky free. The government needs to chunk that up and take that as a L and keep it pushing...like I said I missed out lol
Imagine creating a trap for a beautiful snow leopard and trapping your self instead. I wonder did Rome in it's glory days have 87k tax agents. Just get a job bro because it's people wishing to work in a bureaucratic society. I work all through the pandemic even while suffering from kidney problems. I'm disgusted,I'm disappointed, and most of all feel let down by the American people. I'm a hole felon by the way but I understand microeconomics ,macroeconomics , and debt. It's sickening keep it real
YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT THE PEOPLE AT THE VERY TOP COULDNT HAVE DONE THIS A DIFFERENT WAY ..WHERE YOU WOULD HAVE TO PROVE THAT YOU WERE LEGIT ..2ND SHAME ON AMERICA ..WHEN OTHER COUNTRIES DID A MUCH BETTER JOB OF LOOKING OUT FOR THEIR PEOPLE ..WITH CHECKS THAT NO 1 HAD TO PAY BACK ..THIS IS A SHAM .. THE LAWSUIT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT

Looks like a setup
I’m interested in knowing what happened with the witnesses that were called and not charged or did they end up getting charged?
I would hire Diane if I were in trouble. Great interview.
She’s a great lawyer.

I work in AML and we have filed so many SARs for PPP, Unemployment and EIDL fraud.

Excellent video. Thanks to Diane and Justin

@@sharnayhill670They're not going to just give people a pass on committing fraud. Especially since it was so widespread.
I made popcorn.
Ol Donnie should take a lesson

Stop calling psychopathic criminals "gentlemen". "Gentleman" is a term you have to EARN.
My clients are not psychopathic. They are human beings who make mistakes.
We’ll said…
Must be awesome to be the only person alive that has never made a mistake in their life.
