Robotic Arm with Blender and FEZ Panda II

  • I bought a 6 DOF robotic arm and a FEZ Panda II micro-controller. I wanted a simple interface to control its movements. Blender (a 3D studio) has the ability to rig models with bones and inverse kinematics (IK). IK makes it possible to only move the interesting part of the robotic arm, the grippe and adjust the rest of the pivot points automatically as necessary. Blender also supports animations. So keyframes on a timeline can make-up a program that the robotic arm needs to run.
    Simple program of stacking one block on another is shown in this clip.

    Hey Mike, can you just give me a pointer to where I can get tutorials of Blender to a project similar to yours? i need info on the scripting part... Thank you.....The video is inspiring...

    @Geetesh: 'Helping out' is somewhat vague. From blinking a led (which really is just uploading the example code) to controlling a robotic arm is not helping out. It is doing work for you. Do you want to pay me to do work for you? Than I accept your request to 'help you'. Otherwise, post your specific questions on stackoverflow or similar websites.

    ive been working on almost same project....... but not with fez panda and blender........ could you help me out with the programming of the fez panda. i have it but till now i was just able to control the led on it.
