He was emotional even before he stepped on stage. And he also felt great support from Latvians from all over the world, wherever we are.

it was all genuine... others usually act emotions, but this was not an act... even after the performance he said that he was holding tears the whole song, but at the very end just couldn't hold anymore...
I mean you can hear his voice was shaking in the final silent part from all of the emotions felt like he barely held it together.
It's difficult to stand alone on stage and sing knowing you are last in the odds. When he heard audience singing, he got emotional.

For people that dont know: he wrote this song! In his childhood he was..like unsuccessful and one day a bully comes up to him in a music class(im pretty sure) and says "you will never get a good vocal voice!If you will,make a shout for me!" And he as you can see....HE MADE IT! So this is a shoutout for him and it explains his whole life!🎉🎉🎉

I live in Latvia. We failed to get out of the semis for the past six years, and this year Dons managed it. I agree with you about Imagine Dragons.
but i dont think he deserved to get out of semis, latvia would always get to finals, if our people werent mostly teenage girls who vote or dumb jury who ruilds peoples vote.
@@Swarmah 22‘ and 23‘ latvian songs deffinetly were not final worthy. Dont remember how they did before that. But last two years absolutely not.
@@DriversExperience there were way better songs and shows to send than this. I remember music thief, which didnt get to eurovision, and was deffo a winner, but jury was like, nah, lets send garbage, and its always like that. Of everyone that have been sent to eurovision, we had 1 winner, which won just by show, not by song, and then we had year 2000, which was win worthy but ended 3rd. Others, i mainly see, none have been final worthy.

@@ben-taobeneton3945 Nope, six. 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 (the concert was canceled in 2020). Latvia failed to get out of the semis from 2009 to 2014 inclusive, but I'm only referring to the most recent draught.

Personally , I think this guy has so much potential , but the song was so ... regular, it had nothing to stand out , he earned his place in the final and did alright there but , had the song been better, Dons would easily get in the top 10 . In terms of vocals, he was one of the best vocalists in the whole event.
As regards to Don's staging - ESC was originally contest of songs , not show . Unfortunately blings , cheap dress , tastless moves of many contestants has devaluated the meaning of this event these days. Vocal is the essence . And it was great !
Latvian version Lauzto sķēpu karaļvalsts, in my opinion, sounds stronger, but i still like this one
Yes stage should be more supportive. It was way too pale and static. Everything was put on Dons shoulders because of poor stage 😢

Not interested in the show at all, since it is just plain LGBTQ propaganda. Running around bare butt is nothing to do with music. Our performer did great though.

Your performer did great, he was my favorite. Dons didn't seem to have any problem with LGBtQ people (or people with bare butts... like Finland), so why should you?
