You really should listen to slimane s songs. He is a former winner (?) of The Voice France, and now he has a huge carrier, previous to Eurovision. Listen to his audition at the Voice, and then to his other songs.
Slimane made France rank 4th this year at Eurovision. It's not the winning place of course but it stays a very good ranking anyway. He received 12 points four times and 10 points several times by the juries. At the jury votingn, France reached the 2nd place. About the public vote, France even got one more point than Switzerland: the country got 227 pts when Switzerland received 226. France ranked 4th at the public vote. Switzerland was just behind at the 5th place. Croatia (#1), Israël (#2) and Ukraine (#3) composed the public top 3. It means that the audience mostly preferred 4 other songs than the winning one. Personally I stayed stunned that Croatia didn't win the competition this year.

Slimane made France rank 4th this year at Eurovision. It's not the winning place of course but it stays a very good ranking anyway. He received 12 points four times and 10 points several times by the juries. At the jury votingn, France reached the 2nd place.
About the public vote, France even got one more point than Switzerland: the country got 227 pts when Switzerland received 226. France ranked 4th at the public vote. Switzerland was just behind at the 5th place. Croatia (#1), Israël (#2) and Ukraine (#3) composed the public top 3. It means that the audience mostly preferred 4 other songs than the winning one.
Personally I stayed stunned that Croatia didn't win the competition this year.
