They released very high quality lyric videos of every song at the releasing day. That I 'll call fan service at the highest order. This is a slow building opener of the album, like a welcoming to the journey. The protagonist here is the Music himself (or Pan if you wish, the Greek god of joy and some other stuff). He won't sing to the greedy crowd, but only the people he appreciate (very simplistic interrogation). Best of wishes!
When I heard the new album, it didn't quite catch my ear at first. I thought it was good, but it didn't blow me away. After a couple more listens, and with headphones and volume cranked, it has really grown on me...it's awesome! I hear something new every time I listen now. Those vocal patterns that Floor is singing have an unusual cadence to them...no wonder she said the new album was a real challenge. I've never been a big lyrics guy, usually just listening for music and vocal enjoyment, but this album has me more interested in actually checking out the meanings of the songs. I look forward to watching your reactions to the rest of the album. From what I've read, the cuneiform symbols mean "man", "woman" "heaven/god". Cheers!
10th of April they released the new album. Human Nature. It's different but so nightwish. The more I listen to it the more I love it. Great Great album ❤️🤘
I am thinking the part about the "Greedy crowd" and never singing for them may be from Tuomas' point of view? Next I would love for you to do "How's the heart" lyric video then the Floor and Troy acoustic version in the same video if you care to. Thanks Shaun for another great reaction.
I'm not sure on that one. I have always seen this song as they have personified music. They are singing from `Musics' point of view, and not a specific person. So to suddenly switch to Tuomas's view would be strange. The 1% er might make ab it more sense in that great music is something that comes from within and cant be manufactured. I dunno just a thought.
The instrument shown is the oldest string instrument ever found, The Lyre of Ur dating from somewhere around 2550-2450 BCE. SO it's roughly 4500 years old.
They released lyric videos for every song on the whole album that came out April 10th. Listen to them in order, and you picked the right song as Music is the first song on the album
Top 3 song on the album along with Pan and Endlessness. They bookended this album perfectly. Not that there is a bad song but for me musically these three stand out. This one challenges people who like to sing along at first as the first verses are sung in a melismatic form rather than the syllabic form we are used to in most modern music.
Floor got a tattoo of the "Human :||: Nature" symbol on her lower leg. It was months before the album came out so, she was certainly the first to have it, but by no means the last..
Thanks Shaun for reacting to this brief history of music told by music personified. Such an amazing new Nightwish song with Kai's drumming & Floor's versatile vocals reaching high & low, not to mention Emppu's short but sweet guitar solo. The string instruments you can see in this music video are called "The Lyres of Ur" or "Harps of Ur". They are considered to be the world's second oldest surviving stringed instruments & are more than 4500 yrs old. P.S. The part of the lyrics that made you wonder becomes obvious when you realize that the lyrics are by music personified, and music never sings. The logo is ancient cuneiform and it's upper half signifies nature/god & the lower part human/mankind.
The logo is the logo for the new album "Human. :||: Nature." It consists of two cuneiform signs, one of them (I believe the upper one) basically meaning "human" and the other one "nature". The lyrics are written from the point of view of Music personified, so "I will not sing for the greedy crowd" may mean that for crowds that are only into spectacle and don't listen, music will pass them by and not reach them? Don't know, just my interpretation.
The symbols are cunieform, one of the earliest systems of writing, invented by Sumerians in ancient Mesopotamia. In this case they read, of course, Human Nature. 😄🤘
There are official lyric videos for 8 of the 9 songs on disk 1 of the album with the remaining one, being Noise, having a traditional music video! You might want to do the whole lot! Great reaction by the way and great to have you back!
The whole Album got released as Lyric Videos. Except for Noise that got its own Music Video. I would recommend to go to the official Nightwish RUclips channel and react to the Songs in order 😉 Great Stuff.
You asked about the symbols at the end: they mean Human:||:Nature. From a Facebook post by Floor: “The symbols are in cuneiform writing, from circa 700 BC! The Nature symbol is Sumerian, the Human symbol is Assyrian.”
Yep there is a new album....😁 I guess you did Noise, now Music 👍 hopefully you will do them in order of the album, there is a flow, a structure, a bigger theme to this album! Music Noise Shoemaker Harvest Pan How's the heart Procession Tribal Endlessness How's the heart and Nemo are also new, recorded acoustic versions. And there is the 2nd disc All the works of Nature which Adorn the world. This is really no 10 (all 9 songs together) from the album, but isn't really possible and it looks dandy, a 2 disc album 👌🖐 The logo is from the Album Human. |:| Nature. And are real signs in a ancient language, I believe. ...🖐
This song make me fly everytime

I am glad you liked it. It is one of my favorites along with Shoe Maker and Endlessness. Thank you!
Take care and stay safe.

Both versions of "How's the Heart" in one go would be great.
Agreed...Maybe that part about the greedy crowd was him taking a shot at those that still blame him over tarja??
Never sing for the greedy crowd was a 1% reference. Never making music for corporate greed.

Music from music's point of view. Genius!
The logo means Human Nature in ancient cuneiform.
Love this album

Shoemaker and Endlessness are great.
whole album actualy is but yeahh endlessness is a fucking masterpiece
The "I" in this song is music itself. The logo are sumerian and assyrian ancient words for god/nature (the upper one) and human (the lower one).
With the lower, "human" part being combined symbols for "Man" & "Woman".
The symbols are cunieform, one of the earliest systems of writing, invented by Sumerians in ancient Mesopotamia. In this case they read, of course, Human Nature. 😄🤘
Listen to it a few times and it will grow on you. Trust me. That is ancient Sumerian cuneiform. It is the symbol for the new CD Human:II:Nature.
There are official lyric videos for 8 of the 9 songs on disk 1 of the album with the remaining one, being Noise, having a traditional music video! You might want to do the whole lot! Great reaction by the way and great to have you back!

The released the whole new album as lyric video's would be nice if you react to each and every one of them

Thats the Human nature logo
