So this is what I'm hearing, the previous owner put on different exhaust, didn't tune it _(with "tune" meaning some kind of flash),_ or didn't tune it correctly, as you said you didn't see a serial number indicating it had been tuned, and that caused the spark plugs to foul?
I just got a drz. Got an exhaust and thought yea it'll be fine. No. I was worried about trying to get to that screw. I put a jet kit on and modded air box. Runs like a champ. Bikes are meant to ride with the shit factory exhaust. Whether it's a carb or fuel injection, need to address that immediately
Turning screws on a carb works, turning screws on an EFI bike doesn't. You need to change the trim tables. That's what made messing with the bleed screws so silly.

The only performance issue I had was turning into corners (245) rear tire I solved this issue with a 22V4s
I bought a superbike for less than a grand and have 400 bucks in the repairs. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds for 1400 dollars is insane
So this is what I'm hearing, the previous owner put on different exhaust, didn't tune it _(with "tune" meaning some kind of flash),_ or didn't tune it correctly, as you said you didn't see a serial number indicating it had been tuned, and that caused the spark plugs to foul?
I still think the Ducati’s are the best looking bikes out there! I miss my Monster 1100 😩
@spitescorner turning isnt going to fix your problem if you aren't jetted correctly right?
I've seen those things things burn holes through the exhaust with a dead cylinder. Be careful.
That bike knows only one speed...... Ludacris SPEEEEEEED ....... nice one !
Love the Orbit Culture shirt at the beginning.
If you want to spent some money, go to Guzzi Tech and get a full flash and power commander setup for your four valve Grisso. I have their exhaust and wide band O2 sensors. My Guzzi now runs like your Ducati what it sounds better.
Great work Spite, good video. Any chance we can get you a hair conditioner sponsor? Self-care matters my dude!
ouch
The old Italian tune up trick, take it out and tach it up
I had to buy a filter clamp so i could use my 3' breaker bar to get the damned filter off. Oof!
You've got a gen 1 Diavel, I've got a gen 2 and those run 4 sparkplugs instead of 2.
Using broken and Ducati in one sentence is almost always redundant.
👍Glorfindel reference
It's insane how complicated bikes have become.
Just a silly question on balance of the filling up sequence: Does America not have 95 Octane fuel? Where I am 93 octane is our low octane option and I confuse the living daylights out of filling station attendants by running my motorcycle on 93.
It's a different grading scale. My understanding is it's basically the same.
I love ducati's...and thank you for the vid. I can't get past how complicated the process is just to access the gut's.
That's why I buy the k&n filters with the nuts on them , they will come off
Congratulations on the new Ducati. There is a mechanical service that needs to be done on all ducati's I forgot the name but the price is about $2,500, will you be doing that service yourself or are you going to take it into the Ducati dealer?.. if you can please let me know the name of that service that needs to be done to your bike, and stay awesome!
Desmo service belts $$$ I see plenty of older Ducati for sale - no service history but I want top $$. Buyer beware
@@glennwr450 yep that's it desmos service. A few months ago I saw a 2011 Ducati diavel, and they wanted $5,000 for it, the guy said he had it for 4 years and still hadn't had the service done, so I turned it down
@@SoloBlack313 Depends on when the last service was done. 5 years on the belt if not ridden too far, and on these engines I think the valve interval is about 18,000 miles. Oh - and the total 18,000 miles service (oil, air, plugs, valves, belts) is more like $1600.00.
@anxiousappliance thanks
Orbit Culture AND a Ducati. My man!!
Boy! That Duc was not loved! I see lots of soot and dirt all over, rust. Sheesh! That ain’t right.
That filter was un-screwpulous.
I cant imagine spending the money on a Duc and then being too cheap to buy a flash.
Well done Spite!
Egad, I haven’t seen the rubber tube trick in a long, long time.
Spite, being dumb ruins EVERYTHING. Don't be dumb.
Nice safety glasses during the oil change.
Safety squints
So your tune was a bench tune? No dyno, a database tune?
Tune boy has hundreds of hours of dyno time on diavels. The tunes are about as good as they get
Hi Spite! Any idea on their experience with Ducati Scramblers?
23:02 aww shucks..which one is that bro?
All bikes are reliable if follow service intervals. Many Americans cars and motorcycles do not follow service requirements
mans acting like ive not got 5 of these "cheap easy fix" projects in my garage right now. its a god damned trap
Dude thats MY spark plug trick! Lol been doing that for years.
